Remember that day?

A fading memory encased in a glowing nostalgic feel. Childish promises and innocent secrets, whispered urgently with a pledge to never tell anyone else.

A brown-haired boy held sat in a flower field. Listening to the chatter of his friend. The occasional exaggeration and swing of a magical wand to demonstrate, with pixie dust, the scene and events. The laughter roared through them as the images came to life and re-created the humorous scene with which his friend, Severus, talked back to the headmaster and earned a deduction in points for his house.

The excitement quieted down. Severus plucked at a white lily dancing in the wind. He pinched it between his fingers then gently placed it in a glass tube. To be examined later.

A breeze shook the field they sat in. The grass and spots of white moved in ripples and they smiled ad the wind blew in their hair. This whole field was a gift. It took a month but it finally grew to be a gorgeous place to sit and let your mind wander.

"James. Why did you choose white lilies?" Severus glanced at the boy that had given him this unexpected gift.

"I don't know. I like lilies." He shrugged. "Why, you don't like them?" Severus stuttered to hide his embarrassment "No! I love lilies, really I do!" James laughed adoringly. The young years of their lives at Hogwarts had brought them closer together.

If they only knew that their love for lilies would, in the end, break them apart.
