There were squeals of laughter as the toddler ran from the waves that crashed onto the beach front, going as fast as her little legs could carry her. Tony couldn't help but laugh as watched her, walking carefully behind her in case a wave came up and knocked her down. The last thing he wanted was his daughter to be carried off into the ocean because he wasn't paying close enough attention. With him running beside her, she had certainly looked to all of this as a game, and kept looking over her shoulder to make sure that he father was keeping up with her.
Ziva and McGee watched from farther up in the sand. They both seemed plenty amused to watch them play, though Ziva had a look of adoration that was hidden behind the large pair of sunglasses that shielded her eyes from the bright lights. McGee chuckled, shaking his head as he heard the bits and pieces of a quote from Open Water leave Tony's mouth, going right over the young girl's head.
"Didn't know you were signing up to raise two kids when you started dating him, huh, Ziva?" he said with amusement, looking at his partner out of the corner of his eye.
She smirked, taking a sip from the water bottle in her hands, shrugging softly at his words. "It is not so bad. Until they start throwing their temper tantrums together." It was said primarily as a joke, though it was well known that Tony could be just as emotional as a two year old when it came down to some things. "He is happy, though. He finally has a woman who will worship the ground he walks on."
"Tony's dream come true." He watched as another wave crashed at the child's feet, making her give a joyful shriek. "They're sure having a lot of fun without us."
"You go and join them. I just got my hair done and there is no way salt water is touching these curls," she said simply. He gave her a look of uncertainty, not entirely wanting to leave her on her own, but she quickly began to tug on his arm, trying to push him upwards. "Go! Shoo! I am a big girl. I can take care of myself."
He grinned, going to place a kiss on her cheek, before getting up and running down towards the waves as well. Tony grinned when he saw him coming, lifting his hands into the air.
"It's about time, Probie!" he shouted. He had been to distracted in greeting his friend to notice the water being sucked out from under his legs so quickly. The young girl clapped her hands when the wave hit the back of his knees, causing him to topple over, and she gave a squeal of delight.
"Just like your mother - you love to mock my pain," he muttered as he got onto his knees, pressing his forehead against the small girls. She didn't really understand what he was saying, but she lifted her hands up to cup his cheeks in her small palms.
"Love you, Daddy."
He chuckled, going to place a kiss against her cheek. "You too, Smalls."
