This situation was not one that Josh liked. For the past hour he was locked in a heated staring contest with Emmett, arms protectively around his little brother. Who did this asshole think he was? Demanding him to hand Creven over to him... Che! As if!
Carlisle sighed softly, exchanging a look with his wife. No one was sure about what was happening, and no one was sure if they should break this awkward silence and try to relieve the tension. Honestly, it was putting the whole Coven on edge.
"Emmett, why don't we give them some room? Creven looks like he still needs rest." The Sire said softly, smiling at his guests as he decided to finally break the tension before someone broke something else. "You are welcome to go into a guest room so he can rest."
"Actually, I'm going to bring him somewhere else. I don't feel comfortable with him here." Tone clipped and a bit on the icy side, Josh didn't even remove his gaze from the burly vampire to address the Sire.
Azure pools slowly cracked open to blink up at Josh, the exhausted fox-child whining softly. "Wanna stay with you..."
"Hush." Cooing out gently to his brother, his expression melted into a soft smile as his eyes immediately panned down to gaze at the blonde. "Don't worry, just rest."
Struggling against the fatigue, a soft whine left him once more before he couldn't battle anymore. Eyes falling closed, his breathing softened and leveled out as he fell asleep.
Relaxing greatly as the blonde actually slept, Josh sighed. Finally... After years of being awake, he was asleep. His only complaint was that it took him draining Creven twice in one day to do it. "I... Agree with your conditions. But before I live here, I'm bringing Creven back to where we were staying."
"And where is that?" Emmett's eye twitched a bit in irritation. He would not allow his angel to be taken away from him! Not after finding him again after so long.
"None of your business." Hissing at the nosy, pompous jerk, Josh glowered back at him.
Growling, topaz orbs narrowed as they brightened with anger. "I thi―"
"Emmett." Carlisle said pointedly, almost pinching the bridge of his nose. Honestly, this child was so... "That is fine, I'll be waiting for you to come back."
That polite smile was a bit off-putting for Josh, but there was no malicious intent at all. He's just never met someone so goddamn polite. "Right..."
Standing with his sleeping brother in his arms, the amethyst-eyed vampire nodded before quickly disappearing from the house.
"Shit, I think he's faster than you, Eddy." Emmett blinked, looking to his brother as his brows lifted a bit with, dare he even say it, admiration from how fast the other could move.
Snorting, Edward rolled his eyes as he held his lover close, and his head high. "I don't think so."
XxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxX
"Jacob!"
"Damn, you guys were shopping for a long time." The wolf blinked at Josh as he stepped inside the house. He arched a brow at the sleeping blonde. "Wow, tired him out?"
"Long story..." Placing the bags of clothes on the couch (Josh back-tracked to find the dropped purchases), he turned to look at the wolf with a tense frown. He then transferred Creven to Jacob's arms. "He's going to want to follow me once he wakes up, don't let him. I don't know when I'll be back."
"Whoa, wait, what? Aaaand, he's gone..." Sighing, the wolf gazed down at the boy in his arms. "... You're way too light..." He mumbled out before carefully stepping into his room, avoiding all the spots he knew would creak. Slipping into his room, Jacob lowered the too-light body on to his bed and tucked the boy in with the blankets. "Sleep tight."
Keeping the door open just a crack, Jacob went about of doing his chores. He yawned widely throughout the labor, trying not to fall asleep from boredom. The dishes were done, the wood furniture dusted and polished, and the teen was in the middle of vacuuming when he was suddenly pounced on.
"Whoa!" Looking over his shoulder, he chuckled lightly as blue eyes gazed at him. Turning the vacuum off, Jacob reached around to pat blonde spikes. "Hey there, sleep well?"
Swallowing down the scream lingering in the back of his throat from the remnants of a nightmare, Creven blinked at the wolf. "Un..."
"You sure? It's only been a little over two hours." Looking to the clock, his brows lifted a bit in surprise. It felt like 10 had passed when he started his chores...
"Josh." The boy whined out softly instead of answering the second question.
"Ah, he's not here right now."
Whining again, the fox-child dropped down from Jacob's back to sniff around. Catching his brother's scent, he was ready to chase after the vampire until large arms wound around him. Hissing at the wolf, cerulean hues stared at brown with a bit of annoyance.
"Nope, sorry, I was told to keep you here." Holding the squirming boy close, Jacob smiled gently at him. "Sorry bud, you're stuck with me."
Creven pursed his lips together lightly, eyes narrowing a bit. A soft growl came from him, gloom starting to cloud above his blonde head as he sulked. "I wanna be with Josh."
Arching a brow at the boy, the teen ruffled blonde tresses. "I'm not so bad, how about I take you to the beach today? It's a nice day for it."
Perking up, blue jewels sparkled at the word. "Beach...?" He's been to one of those before!
Got him. Grinning, Jacob chuckled. "Yeah, the beach! I'll even invite the pack if you want."
Successfully distracted, Creven nodded quickly, yipping in excitement. He wriggled out of the wolf's hold, blinking and gazing at the tear in his shirt. Stiffening at the large rip over his shoulder, he glanced around for the shopping bags with his new clothes. Spotting the plastic, he rushed over to the bag and fished out a fresh shirt. Struggling a bit with his vest and torn shirt, he pulled them free from his body before quickly exchanging the ruined article of clothing with the new one. Zipping his vest back up, he relaxed once everything was back in place and no skin was showing, throwing a beam over to his new friend. "Ready!"
Arching a brow, the wolf chuckled. "You sure you don't wanna wear a bathing suit to the beach?"
"Un!" He wasn't sure what exactly a "bathing suit" was, but he didn't feel like getting any more clothes.
"Alright." Grinning widely, Jacob stepped out of the house, looking back to see the kid crawling. "No, no, you can't crawl." The defiant glare had the wolf crossing his arms. "Or no beach." Smirking lightly as the defiance crumbled to a sulking pout, he waited.
Grumbling, Creven slowly stood up, looking very uncomfortable. Walking over to his new friend a bit stiffly, he scowled (pouted) up at Jacob. "I don't like you very much..."
"Aw, c'mon, I'll make it up to you." Ruffling blonde hair, Jacob walked to the garage and grinned at his motor cycle after shoving the door open. "Ever been on one before?"
Head tilting, blue hues gazed at the strange vehicle. "No... What is it?" Wait wait, he's seen them before! But just in passing.
"It's a motorcycle, you've never heard of one?" Shocked eyes gazed over at the fox-child. How could no one hear of a motorcycle?
Shaking his head, Creven beamed. "Nope! But I've seen them before, and they look really cool!"
"Hell yeah it's cool!" Laughing, Jacob guided the boy over. "Alright, you sit here." Patting the back of the seat, he grinned once more. "..." Watching Creven climb on to the back of the bike, his lips pressed into a thin line. "On second thought," Gently pushing the blonde up the seat, he nodded once the smaller boy was straddling the front of the seat. Settling behind his new friend, Jacob chuckled at the wide-eyed look on the scarred face. "Ready?"
At the nod, the bike was started as the large teen caged the frail looking boy in with his arms. Jacob had been afraid Creven would just fly off from the bike if he sat behind him; the boy was smaller than Bella for Christ's Sake!
A soft squeal left pink lips as they took off, the small blonde curling close to a too-warm chest, eyes wide in shock. The fox-child watched everything zoom by, starting to laugh joyously. It was like when Josh carried him as the vampire ran! He always enjoyed going fast, feeling the wind in his hair, on his face, stinging his eyes. It was great!
A smile played at the corners of Jacob's lips at the boy's glee.
Such a child, hard to believe he's like... A hundred years old or however.
Pulling into the parking lot of the beach, the wolf found a spot he could park his bike before cutting the engine. Patting blonde tresses, he grinned down at the beaming face. "I'll give the boys a call, yeah?"
"Un!" Hopping off the bike, Creven wandered around the parking lot a bit, though kept Jacob in his sights.
Watching the wolf talk on the phone, his head tilted a bit, elfish ears giving a few twitches as he heard a strange sound. Phones were weird... They gave off this annoying, screechy sound that no one else seemed to hear, and he didn't quite understand the strange devices. Perking up when the phone was pocketed and his new friend's attention was back on him, Creven beamed and gave an excited wave.
Chuckling, Jacob motioned for his excited charge to follow as he walked from the parking lot and on to the beach. "Have you been to a beach before?"
"Un! Aniki took me to one before, but we didn't stay long."
"Aniki...?"
"Ah... Ano..." Getting a sheepish expression, the blonde scratched his cheek lightly. "It means 'older brother'..."
"Oh, cool." Grinning at the fox-child, the wolf hummed. "So, why didn't you stay for long?"
"I made a mistake." Was whispered out, azure jewels glancing down. "I wandered too far from Josh and got attacked by a va―" Cringing, he couldn't bring himself to say the word. "I killed a lot of people..."
Oh, please. Don't sound so sad about it. You loved it, and you know it.
Flinching, sharp teeth lightly bit down on the inside of a cheek as that voice sounded in the blonde's head.
Frowning, Jacob stepped over to Creven and gently ruffled his hair. "It's alright, that wasn't your fault." He said softly, pulling the other a bit closer to give him a sort of awkward hug without actually touching.
"Hey! Squirt!"
Moment interrupted, two pairs of eyes turned to look at who called out.
Jared grinned widely as he saw the pack's newest addition. Scooping the small boy in his arms, the wolf spun him around. "What're you guys hugging for? And why the hell wasn't I invited?"
Yelping in surprise as he was picked up, Creven started to laugh when he was spun. It made his stomach feel a bit weird, but in a nice way. Yipping at Jared, the small boy pawed lightly at him. "Hi!" He chirped out happily, beaming.
Rolling his eyes a bit, Jacob watched his friend with an arched brow. "We weren't hugging."
Snorting, Jared threw a grin over at his friend. "Right, right." Looking back to the boy in his arms, he blinked and started at the clothes. "Whoa, whoa, these aren't beach clothes! Why're you all bundled up?"
"I like these clothes." Pursing his lips together, Creven squirmed in the other's arms lightly before he was put back down on his feet. Peeking around Jared to the rest of the pack, he beamed when he spotted them. "Yay! Everyone's here!" Though, he did wish Josh was here with them.
"We couldn't say 'no' to showing you around La Push." Paul said with a grin. "The first thing we have to show you; the cliffs!"
"You think that's a good idea?" Quil arched a brow at his pack-mate.
"The kid is surrounded by eight shape-shifters, I'm sure he'll be fine." Chuckled out Embry, sending a wink over at Creven.
"That settles it!" Lifting Creven in the air once more, Jared grinned widely as he placed the small body on his shoulders. "Let's go to the cliffs!"
Squeaking as he was yet again picked up and manhandled against his will, the fox-child blinked down at Jared as his lips pursed lightly. A beam quickly brightened his scarred face as he relaxed on the wolf's shoulders. "Un!"
Something in his chest warmed as the group moved along, bright cerulean pools watching each wolf and bouncing through the group as he listened to their idle chatter while they traveled to the cliffs.
Is this what it's like to have friends...?
Not being able to help himself, a purr started up in his chest as his eyes got half-lidded in content.
Jared blinked, glancing up at the purring boy seated on his shoulders, he laughed softly. "He's purring."
"Yeah, he does that." Jacob grinned over at his friend, his heart nearly melting at the blissed out expression on Creven's face. He hadn't seen him look that content since he met him. He must have really needed a day to just relax. What kind of life did Josh and Creven lead...?
"That's kind of weird..."
"Embry, you're weird. I think it's adorable."
"You think everything is adorable!"
Quil made a soft sound of disagreement, hand going to his chest as he stared at his friend with wide eyes. "I do not! I don't think you're adorable."
"Hey! How can you not think I'm adorable?!"
"Alright, you two, get a damn room." Sam rolled his eyes with a light shake of his head, both amused and annoyed.
The warmth in Creven's chest spread, his eyes starting to water a bit with emotion. But, why? The emotions inside him were conflicting, should he feel sad about this?
Emotions are confusing...
They sure are. They're also unneeded. You should just allow me to help you get rid of them.
Twitching, the fox-child's face paled as the brilliant color in his eyes dulled a bit. Deciding to just ignore the voice, he swallowed back the small lump that formed in his throat.
Oh, no, you can't ignore me anymore. A sharp grin glinted behind the boy's eyes. You made the mistake of talking with me, asking me questions, you opened this door.
Fingertips dug into Jared's skull as panic sparked in azure orbs. He couldn't ignore the voice?! But, he could always ignore the voice before...
Wincing, the wolf glanced up, frowning lightly at the look of pure terror on a pale face. "Hey, what's wrong?" He asked gently, lifting a hand up to gently touch one of the ones intent on burying into his head.
Blinking at the voice, Creven glanced down at the other in a bit of shock. Oh, right, he was with the wolves. "Ano..." Beaming a bit shakily, he shook his head. "Nothing!" He chirped out, trying not to make his voice shake like his insides were.
Eying the blonde, he returned the smile with his own gentle one. "Alright."
"We're here! The cliffs!" Paul exclaimed, throwing a grin over to Creven. "Great view, yeah?"
Eyes going wide as he gazed out over the cliffs, looking at the waters below, his breath was nearly taken away. Hopping off Jared's shoulders, he padded over to the edge to peer over and gaze at the jagged rocks and lapping waves below. "Sugoi..." He whispered out, a sort of fluttering starting up in his stomach, causing a shiver to go through his body and make his fingertips tingle.
I want to jump...
Giddiness rushed through him, eyes widening a bit more with adrenaline. Wind rushing passed him, a loud whoop of joy ringing in his ears, and Creven was blinking owlishly as Embry plummeted to the waters below. Spinning around, keen eyes watched the other boys undress down to their shorts.
"See ya down below!" Paul grinned as he leaped off the cliff, bellowing out his joy.
A grin spread across the blonde's lips as one by one, the wolves jumped to the water below. Staring down at the playful pack hollering up at him to join, Creven's grin widened. They wanted him to jump, so he did.
The wind rushed through his hair, whistled in his ears, and stung at his eyes so wonderfully. The sharp winds kissed at his cheeks, making him smile widely as he fell. Free falling head first to the water, he twisted and flipped his body around. A rush of heat washed through his body, and it was like a switch was flipped as an unknown instinct, long forgotten, screamed at him.
A deep purple aura surrounded his feet and ankles before he hit the water. Knees bending to reduce the blow, Creven rolled to the balls of his feet, arms flying out to steady his body as the waves rocked him.
"What the fuck?"
Shock almost paralyzed the pack, wide eyes watching the blonde fucking stand on water.
"How the fuck...?"
Looking up, Creven beamed at the pack, head tilting to the side at their expressions. "Nani?" Why were they looking at him like that?
Straightening his posture, the fox-child walked along the top of the water over to where Jacob was treading.
"How are you...?" Staring up at the boy standing and walking on fucking water. "How the fuck are you standing on water?"
"Huh?" Looking down at his feet, his head tilted. "This isn't normal...?" Well, he guessed not... Since the wolves were actually in the water and not on the water. Brows furrowing, self-consciousness started welling up in the pit of his stomach.
"No... But it's fucking awesome! How are you doing that?!" Embry asked, eyes wide and grin even wider.
"I-I dunno." Cheeks flushing up a soft pink, he blinked slightly large eyes down at the wolves. "I just... Am."
"Well, it's fuckin' cool, whatever it is!" Paul laughed out, swimming up behind Creven as he watched him stand there like it was normal ground.
Looking to the wolf, the blonde smiled a bit shyly. "R-Really...?"
"Yeah! I mean, you're fuckin' walking on freakin' water! Can't get much cooler than that!" Jared said as he tread closer to his new friend. Gazing at his feet, a brow arched as he reached out to poke one of them. "What's with the glowing?" He asked, both brows lifting now as he felt a bit of warmth from the purple glow.
Glancing down to see what Jared was talking about, Creven's head tilted a bit. "I dunno, they've never done that before." A bit amazed at the purple aura, he crouched down to poke at his own foot. "It doesn't really feel any different... Just a bit... Warm?"
"Well, as long as it's not hurting you, it should be fine." Sam said, giving the other an easy-going smile. This kid really was full of surprises.
"I guess you didn't need beach clothes to begin with." Jared said with a grin, eyes narrowing a bit. "Unless we can get ya!"
He lunged, using the power in his legs to propel himself a few inches out of the water as he tried to tackle the blonde.
Barely being missed by the tackle, the young blonde yelped as he dodged and sprinted away. Azure orbs widened as he saw the grins on the pack's faces'. "Uh-oh..." He whispered out, taking off on the waters surface.

A Few Hours Earlier.
XxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxX
Josh frowned as he stared back at the Sire of the Cullen Coven, arms crossed over his chest. "I'll tell you right now, I don't like this."
A small smile was aimed back at the purple-eyed vampire, Carlisle nodding. "Yes, I didn't think you'd be very happy... But, I do hope you'll become comfortable with us and trust us."
Scoffing softly, he looked off to the side. "Right. So, how exactly do you plan on 'mentoring' me?"
"You've said that you already drink animal blood, is human blood tempting to you?" He was hoping that this boy already wanted to stop drinking human blood and was just weening himself off it, or at least trying to. Carlisle wasn't sure if he'd be able to change someone with an appetite where he would just feed on everything...
"No, it doesn't temp me." Looking to the Sire once more, his frown deepened with uncertainty. "Should it...?"
Blinking, kind golden eyes gazed at the younger vampire. "Well... I've gotten to the point were it doesn't tempt me anymore, but it took years upon years for me to get to this point. How long has it been since you stopped being tempted by human blood?"
"It hasn't." Great, did this mean he had something wrong with him since he became a vampire?
"Excuse me...?"
Sighing deeply, Josh combed a hand through short hair. "Human blood never tempted me."
Eyebrows lifting to his hairline, Carlisle was a bit speechless for a moment. "Not once?"
"No." He gave a light shrug. "I've felt thirsty, but I'd only feed from humans if they were more convenient than going hunting."
"I see..." Humming softly, he smiled. "That gives you an advantage. All you'll have to do is make sure you go hunting when you're thirsty instead of grabbing the nearest thing. We hunt at least once a week, you'll be joining us on those hunts so you don't wait too long between feeding."
"Alright... So, what am I going to be doing during the days?"
Smile widening, eyes sliding closed, Carlisle happily said, "School. You'll be attending the local high school with the others."
Expression falling blank, Josh just stared at the elder for a moment or two. "Excuse me...?" Did he hear that right?
"School is a great place to learn discipline. It'll help."
"... Are you serious...?"
"I am."
Watching the Sire nod, Josh couldn't help but sigh deeply. "Fuck."
"You'll start tomorrow, I'll be getting everything set up. Oh, and you're a distant relative who recently moved in with us."
"Of course..." Josh mumbled out, pinching the bridge of his nose. "The most cliché excuse ever."
Chuckling softly, the doctor smiled. "I enjoy clichés."
Rolling his eyes a bit, Josh couldn't help but smile lightly. This man was fairly easy to get along with, even if he wanted him to go to fucking school, and his smile was just too damn polite. Josh was just waiting for the veil to fall off and see this man's true colors, but it seemed he was genuinely kind the more Josh spent time with him.
"Oi, where did you take... Creven?"
A frown replaced the small smile as he heard that damn voice, Josh turning an amethyst glare to Emmett. "Nowhere you'll ever get to."
Returning the glare with his own, the burly vampire nearly snarled at the prick. "Now that I've smelt him once more, I can easily track him down." He should have just done that to begin with instead of doing the polite thing and asking.
Baring his fangs, Josh faced the other vampire fully as his protective instincts flared. "I will kill you before you even get a glimpse of him!"
Topaz pools blazed, Emmett snarling loudly. "You will not keep him from me!" Hand snapping out, his fingers coiled around a pale neck and squeezed tightly. Digging his fingertips into diamond hard skin, the enraged brute pulled the purple-eyed vampire close. "I have already lost him once before, you will not keep him form me!" He roared out in the other's face.
All the Cullen's appeared simultaneously in the lounge room, tense as they watched their brother/son, ready to intervene if they needed to.
Edward's eyes widened at the rush of memories from his brother, almost not able to keep up with them. Everything clicked together, everything making so much damn sense, and causing the telepathic vampire's dead heart to clench with emotion. No wonder Emmett had reacted so strongly when he was turned, no wonder each year he got depressed, and no wonder he refused Rosalie. The memories were almost a bit too much, Edward taking in a shaking breath on instinct he didn't need anymore as he looked over to see Jasper suffering from the onslaught of emotions. He was certainly glad he didn't have that ability, the memories held enough emotion for Edward as it was.
Amethyst orbs stared into molten gold, a tight frown on his face. "... What do you mean...?"
Face twisting with agony, Emmett's hand shook lightly before slowly pulling away from Josh's neck. "He doesn't remember... But I do. I remember everything as if it were happening now." Lifting a hand to cover his eyes, he took in a shaking breath in an attempt to calm down. "I thought... I thought he was dead... All these years, all these goddamn years... And then he shows up in front of my eyes..."
Josh watched him, voice lowering a bit as his brotherly instincts flared up even more. "What is he to you...?" Dread started to fill the vampire from the answer he was sure to hear.
Lowering his hand, topaz hues gazed at the other vampire. "He is my angel. I love him."
Rosalie bristled, white hot anger flashing through her body as she realized why Emmett denied her. How come she wasn't chosen though, he knew he had lost that runt, why did he still cling to that memory? He couldn't have known the blonde would pop back up in his life, so why didn't he move on?! What did that damned runt have that she didn't?
Jasper glanced to his sister, frowning deeply. He exchanged a look with Edward, worry creasing his brow. This overload of emotions was starting to become too hard to handle, his hand seeking out Alice's as he started to send out waves of soothing energy that he very much hoped would calm everyone down.
"Love him?" Josh frowned deeply, lips pressing together tightly as his eye gave a light twitch. "Do you really think you're good enough for him?" Narrowing purple eyes at the other vampire, he was damned sure that Emmett was not good enough for Creven. First off, he was a vampire. Second off, he was a pompous jerk.
Eyes blazing, Emmett twitched. "..." His lips parted with an attempt to answer, but nothing came out, his voice getting trapped in his throat. Was he good enough? Doubt swirled with his anger, battling and beating it down as his eyes drooped lightly. Looking away, his brows furrowed together tightly. "Not anymore..." He whispered out before turning and walking away. He had been turned into the very thing that took his beloved angel away from him, Emmett was now the devil that caused his love to burn in Hell Fire.
"Emmett..." Alice said softly, gazing after him. She turned to frown at Josh, eyes narrowing into a glare. "Why would you say something like that?!"
Holding his head high, Josh growled lowly as a dangerous glint shined in his eyes. "I will not allow any harm to come to my brother. Vampires bring nothing but suffering to him. I will not allow any vampire near him, even if they were a past lover."
"You say that, yet you live with him." Jasper said softly, a tense frown on his face as he watched Rosalie walk after Emmett. What was she going to do...? Turning his gaze to Josh, his frown deepened. "Aren't you putting him in danger being near him?"
Amethyst eyes snapped over to the empathic vampire, head tilting slightly to the side. "Don't insult me. I'm the one who takes away his pain and suffering."
Cringing away a bit from the animosity sent his way, Jasper stepped closer to his wife protectively. Was he doing that on purpose...?
Carlisle frowned, placing a calming hand on Josh's shoulder. "Alright..." He said softly, wanted to dispel the tension. "Let's call it a night, yeah? I'll show you to your room, and we'll all calm down during the night." It would be a bit difficult, since they didn't need sleep and would therefore still dwell on what happened. But hopefully, it would help.
Looking to the Sire, Josh sighed a bit before walking over to the staircase. "Fine."
Following after their newest companion, Carlisle glanced to his wife and offered the woman a small smile. Heading up the stairs, he turned down the hall and over to a door. Opening the wooden door, he gestured inside with a small smile. "Here is where you'll be staying."
"Thank you." Walking into the guest room, he gazed around with a dull expression. He wanted to be with Creven, vampires were always hard for him to get along with. Giving it a bit of thought, he'd rather live with the pack of mutts than be here with a Coven of vampires.
Feeling restless throughout the night, Josh almost cheered when morning came. Until he remembered he was going to be attending school. "Fuck me..."
Walking out of his new room, the purple-eyed vampire sighed as he gathered with the rest of the group. Not sparring a glance at the sulking Emmett, Josh looked to Edward, frowning lightly. "So, are we leaving then?"
Gazing a bit at the newest addition to the Coven, he nodded. "Yes, you can ride with me."
A light smirk quirked Josh's lips up. "So you can read my mind? Sure."
The cocky attitude definitely was annoying. Edward wanted to smack the other. "I just thought I'd spare you from riding with Emmett, but if you don't want to join me then be my guest."
It was Edward's turn to smirk as Josh visibly stiffened and that damned look dropped to a tense frown. Hah, that showed him.
"I'll join you." Josh bit out with slight difficulty in an attempt to keep his tone polite. It wasn't entirely working.
"Alright then." Nodding, Edward looked to his brother as the burly vampire stayed quiet with his sulking to give him a slightly encouraging smile before he walked out of the house with his family and their new companion.
Jasper had a steady stream of soothing energies washing over the group, hoping that he was helping even if in a small way. It was the only thing he could do, and right now he really felt like it was useless.
Alice sighed softly. "Why can't we all just get along...?"
Smiling softly at his wife, the empathic vampire intertwined their fingers together. "Don't worry so much." He whispered out, lifting her hand to give the back of it a soft kiss. "We'll get there."
Calling the car ride awkward would be an understatement. Edward would try to talk with him, even peek into his mind to try and strike up a conversation based off what he was thinking. Didn't this fucker know the word "privacy"? He'd just have to keep his thoughts in Japanese. The look on the bronze-haired vampire's face was priceless when Josh had switched languages and Edward could no longer understand what he was hearing. Josh would have to thank Creven for speaking in the language most of the time.
"Edward!"
Looking to the human girl Creven had attacked, Josh scoffed softly as she looked at him. Narrowing his eyes a bit at her, he turned and strode into the school. A vampire being with a human... That was just asking for problems. It disgusted him.
"He doesn't look happy." Bella said softly, watching the other walk through the door.
"Yeah, he's not." Edward sighed a bit as he circled an arm around thin shoulders, walking with his girlfriend into the building.
"What is he doing here anyway...? Him going to school is one of Carlisle's conditions?" She asked, gazing up at Edward to see him nod. "I'm worried about how this will all turn out..."
"Everyone is. But we're hoping it'll work out alright in the end."
"I'm hoping it will too, and you know what? I'm starting to think that it will." Bella smiled, wanting to bring some positivity forth. "Oh, what happened to that blonde...? Is he okay?"
"I think so, Josh isn't talking about him though. He hates it when anyone asks about his brother."
Bella frowned lightly. "Oh..."
"Bella!" Looking to her friend, the young girl smiled. "Jessica, what's up?"
Edward almost groaned, eyes giving a slight roll to the side. He did not like this girl, her thoughts were always annoying.
"Have you seen the new kid? Well, since he's Edward's cousin you must have." Smiling at said boy, her eyelashes batted a bit. "What's he like?"
"I'm not too sure, I barely met him." Bella said with a small smile.
"Oh, I was asking Edward." Flipping her hair over her shoulder, Jessica gave a small roll of her eyes. "So, what's your cousin like?" She asked again, not even glancing over at Bella when she addressed the other girl.
Edward really did not like this girl. Giving her a polite smile, he tilted his head a bit. "He's... Well, why don't you go introduce yourself to him when you get the chance? I don't want to misinform you."
Smiling widely, Jessica nodded. "Alright!" With that, she scampered off, dark curls bouncing a bit with her excited moving.
"That was harsh." Bella said with a slightly disapproving gaze. "You know he's going to be mean to her, he's mean to everyone and I don't think he'll make an exception with her."
"That's what I'm hoping." Smiling down at his lover, he gave her forehead a soft kiss. "Maybe it'll take her down a few notches."
Sighing, the young girl shook her head lightly. "She's still my friend, Edward. You should be a bit nicer."
"I am very nice to her! But Josh doesn't have any reason to be nice."
Lips pursing, Bella gave his shoulder a light smack. "You're lucky I love you."
"I know."
School was something Josh definitely hated. He wanted to slap the teachers, punch the students, and kick everyone twice. It was the same thing through the morning, everyone had the same damn questions;
"Is that your real eye color?"
"How are you related to the Cullens?"
"Where did you live before?"
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
He was seriously getting annoyed. Especially at the female humans who were trying to rub their hormone-drunk bodies all over him. Lunch was barely better as he sat at a small table by himself, eyes glued to a book. Josh was clearly giving out signals to stay away from him, but someone wasn't listening to those damn signals.
"Hey, you're the Cullen's cousin, right?"
Looking to a quite petite girl with dark curls, he arched a brow. "That's what they tell me."
Jessica laughed, maybe a little too loudly, as she flapped her hand lightly at him. "You're funny! What's your name?"
Sighing heavily with his annoyance, amethyst hues gazed a bit dully at the girl. "Josh."
"Well, Josh," She purred out, not deterred at all by the clear annoyance displayed. "My name's Jessica. Would you like to join me and my friends for lunch?"
Leveling the girl with an irate expression, he shot her down quicker than a hunter shooting a duck. "No. I do not wish to be in the presence of an annoying, putrid insect such as yourself. Now if you don't mind, go away."
Looking at Josh in shock, Jessica couldn't do anything but return to her table and sit down. No one ever talked to her like that, ever. Especially boys.
Turning his attention back to the book in his hands, Josh turned a page. Not looking at the she-vampire when he felt their presence next to him, Josh gave a light sigh through his nose. "What?"
"That was very rude! You should go and apologize!" Alice frowned at the newest companion to the Coven, very displeased with his behavior. Even if she wasn't the biggest fan of Jessica, there was no need to be rude!
"No."
"Oh, c'mon!" Raising her voice a bit, Alice didn't care that the cafeteria went quiet to listen to the two. "You can't just be rude to people, you should go and apologize!"
"I don't feel like I need to. I'm not here to make friends."
Alice frowned more. "So you think it's okay to be rude?"
Closing his book, Josh stood up and stared down into topaz eyes. "I don't care if I'm rude or not, I don't care what these pathetic people think of me, nor do I plan on mingling with them. Now, if you wouldn't mind, leave me alone." Voice icy enough to freeze over Hell, the vampire turned and headed for the door.
The whole room watched silently as Josh left, nearly every pair of eyes widened in shock. Just what the hell happened?
Huffing, the pixie-like vampire joined her family once more. "He needs an attitude change." She grumbled out, arms crossing as she glared at the air in front of her face.
Smiling softly at his wife, Jasper leaned over to give her cheek a soft kiss. "Try not to worry, my love." He said softly, sending her soft and gentle waves of calming energy. All this work was going to strain him out...
"Humph! Edward, what is that guy even thinking?"
"I don't know, he thinks in Japanese." Shrugging, the telepathic vampire gave a small sigh.
Rosalie scoffed a bit, looking at her nails. "He just needs to leave. Him and that pipsqueak."
Emmett's eyes snapped over to his sister, lip curling a bit over sharp teeth. What the fuck did she just say? Why would she even say something like that? "Excuse you?"
"They should both leave." She said, looking at the burly vampire. "I honestly think you should forget about him and be with me."
Jasper held his breath as Emmett was swamped with fury. "Rosalie..." He said with great warning, trying to calm his brother down with gentle and soothing waves. It didn't seem to be working, Emmett's anger was climbing rapidly.
"What?" Molten golden hues narrowing dangerously, Emmett barely held off a loud snarl.
"How do you know he's even the one you lost? He doesn't remember you, not even a little."
"Shut. Up." Clipping out those two words with great difficulty to try and keep his voice calm, Emmett was getting the urge to lunge across the table and throttle her.
"He could very well just be someone who looks like him." Rosalie wasn't deterred in the slightest. She kept pressing on, wanting to make her point and have the larger vampire see from her point of view. "Also, do you really want someone who hears voices?" A light smirk quirked her painted lips up, the self-satisfied look on her face telling her family she thought she made her point.
Temper flaring to dangerous levels, a large first slammed down on the table as that was the last straw for Emmett, Rosalie successfully breaking the camel's back. "I said; Shut up! Stop talking, you disgusting devil!"
Once more a hush fell over the room, the students of Forks High confused about the second outburst. Just what the hell was going on with the Cullen family?
Storming out, the large vampire had to leave before he ripped Rosalie's head off. The she-vampire was really getting on his nerves, especially with the way she was talking about his angel, and Emmett wasn't going to allow anymore of that foul-mouthed bullshit.
"Rose... Why would you say something like that...?" Alice asked, eyes a bit wide.
Shocked to her core, Rosalie simply stood and left the room as well. No one ever said anything like that to her, and she didn't understand why Emmett would say something like that.
"Well, this has certainly been an interesting day..." Edward rubbed at his temples lightly. He was sure he could feel a nonexistent headache coming on. "Great start..."
Josh sat down on the couch in his room, the day at school more than irritating. Giving a deep sigh, he leaned back into the cushions to try and get comfortable and wind down from the stressful day. He'd never been away from Creven for this long, it was making him anxious. There was nothing more the vampire wanted to do but go to his brother and see how he was doing.
Was he okay? Had he gotten enough sleep? Had he eaten yet? Was he being treated kindly by that mutt?
Sighing again, violet orbs slid closed as he tried to relax. Tried. It wasn't working. Standing, he strode out of the room and headed down the stairs. Walking to the front door, he paused with his hand on the handle when he heard Carlisle's voice.
"Stepping out?"
Looking over his shoulder to gaze at the Sire, he gave a curt nod. "I'm going to visit my brother."
Gazing at his charge, Carlisle hummed softly. "Josh, I said school was going to help you learn discipline. That also means with your temper."
Eyes narrowing a bit, his jaws clenched. "I'm not a child. I do not need to be in school. Don't talk to me as if I'm an adolescent. Your 'children' may have been so when they lost their lives, but I certainly wasn't."
Dipping his head politely, Carlisle gazed at him calmly. "Anger can lead to a loss of control, you could hurt someone. If you do not wish to follow my rules then you can leave."
Eye twitching, Josh took in a slow, calming breath. Hand falling from the door knob, his shoulders drooped a bit as his anger started to dissipate. "Fine... I'll continue with this idiotic 'discipline'." Turning to face the other with a frown, his expression pinched a bit with annoyance. "I assume you want me to apologize to the human girl."
"Yes. You don't have to become friends, but please be polite." Carlisle said softly, a gentle smile on his face. At least Josh would continue this as long as his brother wanted to live here, that was the only hold the Sire had over him to follow these rules.
"Alright." Grumbling a bit like a sulking child, he walked passed the other, pausing in his way back to his room. "I do not like the idea of your child near my brother." With that, Josh went back into his room and gently closed the door.
He wanted to see Creven, he really wanted to leave this damn house and see his brother, but the vampire decided to hold off a bit. He'd go along with Carlisle's rules for awhile before going to see his brother, and hopefully it would mean he wouldn't have to come back to the God-awful house. Hopefully the fox-child would be alright in the care of Jacob without him.

Gazing up at the darkening sky, Creven whined softly. His fingertips lightly pawed at the large rock he was perched on, pointed ears giving a light twitch when he heard dirt crunching under shoes. Looking over to Jacob, Creven's head tilted.
"Hey, what'cha doin'?" Smiling at the blonde, Jacob stepped closer to his new friend.
"Josh..." Creven whined out softly, eyes down casting with melancholy.
"Ah, you miss him. You two must be very close if you miss him after only a day." Chuckling lightly, the wolf reached out to gently ruffle blonde locks. "You haven't eaten anything all day, are you hungry?" Distracting the blonde during the day had been easy, but now it would be a bit more difficult to keep the blonde from getting sad.
Ears twitching with a bit of though, he shook his head. "Iie."
"Yeah?" Arching a brow, Jacob wondered why he'd shake his head if he was hungry.
"Ah, no... Sorry, 'iie' means 'no'."
"Oh. Sounded like 'yeah'." Laughing softly, the wolf gave a small shrug. "Alright then, if you say so." Come to think of it, he didn't eat like a normal person so he probably didn't hungry as much. Not that, he was normal to begin with... Jacob decided to stop his train of thought, he'd probably end up getting another headache from over-thinking.
Hopping off from the rock, Creven stretched a bit before forcing himself to walk on two feet instead of his hands and knees. Seriously, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to get used to this... What was he supposed to do with his hands?
"Did you have fun today?" Grinning down at the boy, Jacob wanted to get the boy's mood up again.
Beaming, he nodded quickly. "Un!"
Ah, there it was, that joyous smile that made everyone who looked at it return it. Jacob grinned back, not helping the chuckle that came from him. "Good! So have I earned my way back into your good graces?"
Gazing at the wolf thoughtfully, Creven put on a show of thinking over the question before he grinned widely and nodded. "Un! I like you again!"
"Thank god!" Jacob cheered out, putting on a show of being overly happy that the boy liked him again, grinning from the giggles that came from the smaller male.
Today had definitely been fun, the pack chasing the blonde around to try and pull him under the water. The kid proved to be damn hard to catch! It was like he was a freakin' ninja or something.
"Well, since you're not hungry, are you tired?"
"Iie."
Taking a second to process what was said, Jacob breathed a soft sigh as he realized Creven was telling him "no" in his language. Nodding, he gave a light hum of thought. "Okay, our options are getting limited." He joked with a lighthearted smile.
Smiling sheepishly, the fox-child tilted his head to the side. "Can we go visit Josh?"
Giving the boy a lightly pitying look, he shook his head. "No, sorry bud."
Deflating, Creven nodded sadly as his shoulders sagged. "Okay..."
Why couldn't he visit his brother?
Do you really want to be in a house full of disgusting leeches just to see your "brother"?
Twitching at the voice, he nearly whimpered. Stepping closer to Jacob, he sought the massive heat radiating off the other in a form of protection and comfort.
Go away...
The booming laughter did nothing to calm the now tense blonde as it filled his head and drove out every other thought. As much as I would love to, I can't.
He couldn't leave? Why not?
Jacob blinked down at Creven as the boy suddenly went silent, a far away look on his face and in his eyes as the other stepped closer into his personal space. "Bud?"
I'm sealed in your body. That means you're stuck with me.
I don't want to be stuck with you...
How ungrateful! Snarling, pools of blood narrowed in anger as nine tails thrashed in the dingy sewers. After all those times I've saved you!
You wanted me to hurt that girl!
"Bud?" Could he not hear him?
Don't blame me for that. You wanted to eat her just as much as I did.
No!
"Creven?" Jacob was getting worried now, the kid looked terrified and his scent was starting to smell of fear.
Don't even try to deny it. A sharp grin flashed behind cerulean orbs. What do you think happens to your body each time I have to save you?
Blinking in confusion, blonde brows furrowed together tightly in thought. What do you mean...?
Every time that ghastly venom tried to turn your body into one suited for a vampiric lifestyle, my chakra remade your body to better suit it, and it will continue to do so each time you're infested with that awful substance.
What does that mean...?
You dense boy. What do you think I am? This was fun, maybe he'd play this game a little longer. The terror oozing off his host was delicious as he tried very much to deny what he already knew.
I-I dunno... I thought you were just a voice in my head...?
Laughing cruelly, the large creature grinned wider with mirth. That's so adorable. A voice in your head? So you just thought you were crazy?
N-No! I didn't think I was crazy!
Well then, Kitling, would you like to know what I am?
Y... Yes...
The biggest mistake he could have made and his host just did it. What luck he was having!
A demon.
Eyes going wide, all the color drained from Creven's face as he started to tremble, a terrible face snarling at him from behind his eyes as sharp teeth glinted at him.
"Creven, are you alright?" Voice falling on deaf ears once more, Jacob cursed softly as he watched the boy go stiff as a statue. What the hell was going on to make him so damn afraid? There wasn't anything happening!
Hahahaha! Head bobbing up and down with his laughter, the large creature almost rolled in his mirth. So! My chakra, rebuilding your body to better suit it. What do you think it's turning you into?
Cerulean hues dilated in fear, the pupils nearly swallowing the irises whole as those brilliantly colored oceans dulled to murky puddles.
No...
Oh, yes! Laughed out the demon, reveling in the fear wafting off the blonde in massive waves.
Jacob frowned deeply as his worry climbed higher, the fear now palpable and saturating the boy's scent. "Shit..." Lips pressing together tightly, he lifted a hand to wave it in front of the face frozen with absolute terror. "Creven!"
The wolf started to panic at the lack of reply, not liking the fact the boy seemed so far away and so terrified, and he didn't even know why. What the fuck was making him so scared?! Deciding to heft Creven up into his arms, the teen sprinted back to his home, throwing the door open once he arrived.
"Jacob?! What are you doing?!"
"Pops! Something is wrong with Creven!"
