Prologue

;

Catlyn was laughing, harder than she had in weeks, the boy in front of her seemed to have the rare ability to bring true warmth and amusement into a room and she loved spending time with him, he wasn't one of those knuckleheads that thought they could make her submissive and charm her with flowery language. He treated her maybe not as a complete equal but closer than anyone else, he didn't seem to think she was breakable or about to burst into tears, he made her feel like a child running through a field of grass in the last rays of the sun. Shaking her head and smiling sweetly (unusual, I know but he made her feel unusual) she turned on her heel sounding a hasty goodbye as she walked towards the figure of her sister, standing watching her.

As soon as she reached Claritia, the elder girl opened her mouth and spoke sharply, "Cattie what were you doing talking to the mudblood?" Catlyn froze. Mudblood? Any warmth that had been in the air vanished as Catlyn struggled through her mind for a sensible answer, her only thoughts were of the people who had been kicked out of Slytherin for sympathising with Muggles. Would she get kicked out? By her father? Would she care? What would happen to her then? The question buzzed around her head like hornets as the frightened girl looked at her big sister, face smooth of emotion and voice stead. She replied in a careless voice, "nothing that requires your interference" before stalking of in the opposite direction.

That one moment was the beginning of the end for them all but it isn't the beginning of the story, nor is it the end. It is simply a moment in which a decision is made, for better or for worse.

a/n :- So Slytherin had to have at least one child, in this story he has three, Clarita, Catlyn and Malin. I'm going to add a list of characters and the meaning of their names in the next chapter
