Hi.

Okay, so I know this idea is over used but I was bored and wanted to try.

I don't own Death Note!

Near liked his puzzles. He liked that they made sense and he could figure them out. He could figure out people too, after all he was L's successor, but puzzles were so much better. Puzzles had a set way of being, they were comfortable, quiet, not quite warm or cold, they just were. Sort of like Near. He was always there, and most people liked him well enough, but that was it. He wasn't warm, he wasn't cold, he wasn't kind or mean, not happy or sad. He was neutral, he was white.

White- reflecting back all light, but not absorbing any into himself. Nothing touched him, nothing affected him, and so, he just was.

Mello changed that.

Mello, who barged into his room and yelled nonsense.

Mello, who, after throwing his toys everywhere, would pull him close and whisper sweet nothings.

Mello, who told Near that he hated him and then walked off with Matt.

Mello, who held him and kissed him so gently.

Mello, who made Near smile softly one day and cry the next.

Mello, who swung him in mental circles and made him confused and dizzy and painfully vulnerable.

Mello, who reached him.

With most people he was white, neutral, a puzzle with an exact way of being.

With Mello he was so much more.

Weak.

Strong.

Hot.

Cold.

Alive. So bloody alive.

Near liked his puzzles, his safety.

But he loved Mello.

So, if you actually bothered to read all of this... wow, and thanks!

I like MelloxMatt normally, but I like MelloxNear when it's from Near's POV.

Um, I really have nothing to say right now so, yeah. Please R&R and thanks so much for finishing this!
