BFF's
A/N: In honor of KNDFANGIRL's Randomness Week, here is a one-shot for day 2: A Best Friends Forever story. Hope you like the sweet gooyness.
"Numbuh 5, have you ever liked a boy?"
Numbuh 5 looked up from the magazine she was reading to her friends Numbuh 3. Kuki was sprawled on the couch, clutching a rainbow monkey. The guys had gone out for some guy thing. Numbuh 2 said something about a new Yipper card shipment at the dime store and he and Numbuh 4 were able to drag Numbuh 1 from his room.
"…Yeah… Numbuh 5's liked someone before. Why?"
"Mmm, no reason. I was just wondering."
"Doe you like a boy?" Numbuh 5 asked slyly, already knowing the answer was a short, aggressive blond with an orange hoody.
"No… not really," Numbuh 3 lied and blushed furiously.
"You sure, girl?" pressed Abby.
"I guess so…"
Numbuh 5 shrugged. She didn't have a problem with this game Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 played all the time, still wondering about their feelings. If time was what they needed, she would give them time… all the while teasing Numbuh 4 about the subject.
"Ok, I do!" Kuki blurted.
Abby looked up again, turning completely around to face her friend on the couch. "Oh?" she asked, pretending this was new information.
"Yeah… but I don't know what to say. He's kind of always busy and whenever I think he's going to say he likes me, something interrupts him."
Abby stared at her before asking, "Why don't you ask him to do something?"
"Like what?" asked Numbuh 3.
"Numbuh 5 don't know. Go get some ice cream or something."
"Ice cream sounds good…" Kuki said hesitantly and then smiled in her bright and chipper fashion. "OK!"
Just then the door from the hangar slammed and running in came Numbuh 4. Kuki jumped to her knees and looked over the head of the couch, her smile growing bigger [if that was at all possible].
"Hey Numbuh 4, you wanna go get some ice cream?" she asked loudly.
"Can't Numbuh 3," he panted as he was running. "Forgot… ten… cruddy… cents!"
"That boy's got no sense," Numbuh 5 muttered frustrated. Numbuh 3 slid back down the couch and hugged her rainbow monkey. Abby rolled her eyes under her hat and looked at her friend.
"Don't sweat it girl. Guys are idiots and that one takes the cake. He'll get the hint eventually."
"I hope so," Numbuh 3 pouted. Numbuh 5 sighed and stood up, adjusting her hat.
"C'mon girl."
"Where are we going?"
"To get some ice cream. Numbuh 5 has a feeling you could use some."
Kuki smiled and got up from the couch and her moping. "Thanks Numbuh 5. You're my bestest best friend." She then looked frantically at her rainbow monkey and held it up to eye level. "And I didn't forget about you Bestest Best Friend Rainbow Monkey."
"C'mon," Numbuh 5 beckoned and the two girls slipped out of the treehouse for a girls afternoon out.
Just then Numbuh 4 came running back into the assembly room. "Wait, did she say ice cream?"
