Hi there! I wanted to write up a series of haikus for Ty Parsec, a Space Ranger from the animated show, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. He is one of my favorite characters out of the show, not because of his past, but because of the fact that he is the most human out of all the Space Rangers. I originally wanted to use a Phoenix bird in these haikus, but then I thought of a luna moth, which seemed to suit these haikus better, and well, the rest is history!

Deep into the night

a lone figure walks by way

of stars and moonlight

As he walks, he looks

Up to see clouds shadowing

the pure and clean moon

He remembers the

night he was infected by

that shadow monster

He remembers the

night he almost destroyed a

barely strong friendship

He remembers the

night he fulfilled his deepest

desire in time

He remembers the

night he had shown redemption for

himself in good time

Whoosh! He stops, feeling

something flutter by his face,

as if to comfort

He turns to see a

large, green, luna moth, flying

by him like a guide

He smiles, glad to

have something by his side that

knew what it was like

What it was like to

have the green moon change him in

more than just one way

The little moth just

silently flew by him right

into the dark night

He stares as the moth

flew deeper into the white

moon forever free

It was unafraid

of the moon, showing off its

light green wings with pride

It was unafraid

of the moon, as if daring

anyone to stop it

Try to stop the moth

It will only soar higher

and make it stronger

"I will not let any

creature stop me from living,

I will keep soaring!"

This was what the guide

was teaching Ty Parsec, to

accept and let go

A warm glow of new

Understanding came from deep

within him, hopeful

"Verde luna", he

said whispering now in a

peaceful state of mind.
