Chapter 1: A New Family

Rafael flew through the jungle searching for food. Eva was in the mood for something a little more sweet tonight. So he was looking for some fruits and berries to bring back to his love. He fluttered down onto a branch with some nice looking mango's and then he saw it.

FLASH

I didn't mean to make Unca Vernon's suit turn blue. 3 year old Harry James Potter thought desperately after a beating from Vernon Dursley. Why do they hate me? What did I do? He started crying silent tears. I want to go away. I want a mama and a daddy like Dudley has. Suddenly, as Harry's scar started to glow green and, with a flash, he vanished from the cupboard. And Privet Drive, and the country entirely.

FLASH

Rafael saw a small, infant toucan shrieking in terror. The little guy was too young to fly. His paternal instinct kicking in, he dove down as fast as he could, and caught the infant toucan in his wings and he fluttered down to the forest floor.

"Hey little one, its okay, I got you." Rafael said to the shaking infant. He held the baby toucan close to him and felt its heartbeat slowly calm. Soon the infant cooed and snuggled into his embrace. "You wanna come home with me?" He asked. The child opened an eye and Rafael was entranced by the brightest green eye he had ever seen. He ran a wing over the child's head feather's and saw a streak shaped like a bolt of lightning.

"Lets go home eh?" He asked after putting him on his back and the child giggled. He snagged two mango's and held them in his beak as he flew off. The infant laughed as he rode Rafael's back and the toucan smiled as he twirled through the air.

Eva waited for her husband in their nest in a hollowed out tree. Where could he be? If he's gone to Carnaval without me...She thought as she heard the familiar sounds of celebration in the human city. Finally she saw him coming home. She smiled. Rafael put the two mango's down and embraced his wife with a passionate kiss.

"Ewww." A young, squeaky voice said. They broke apart to see the little toucan Rafael found with his wing over his eyes.

"Hun, who is this?" She asked.

"Ehehee, I found him actually. He was all alone and falling to the ground. I saved him."

"He could be someone's child!" She protested.

"No!" The infant cried and hugged Rafael."Daddy!" Rafael smiled down at the child.

"What do you say Eva, want to be parents?" Rafael asked.

Eva saw how much affection the infant was giving Rafael and smiled. "Alright, why not?" And they embraced again.

"Ewww."
