I feel like I should have taken something more meaningful away from this film than 'the way James McAvoy says 'groovy' is absolutely delightful'. Anyway, have a drabble.

Erik's life had left him with a prodigious ability to maintain a poker face. It was an ability he certainly required when he walked in on Charles practising pick-up lines.

"Charles," he said, as gravely as possible. "I find it frankly alarming that a man of your intellect would consider using the phrase, 'Let's bond your C81-mutation with my BX9-mutation, baby'."

He then attempted to give Charles some better lines. When one came back at him later, modified and a little slurred in the warm, drunken night, he only pointed out that no-one said 'groovy' any more before giving in.
