The tall man stalked the lone teenager down the street.

Her scent was intoxicating and he had to have her.

As he made his move, something grabbed him from behind.

"She's mine."

Angelus looked up into the pale features and bronze eyes. He froze when he realized exactly what was holding him.

"The eyes say you're a vegetarian."

"And your eyes say you're a demon."

Neither man had noticed that the teenager had turned around and was now standing in front of them.

"Edward, I thought I heard you. Are you through being overprotective? We're going to be late for the movie."

"I'll be there in a minute, Bella. Wait for me over there."

She glared at him.

"Please?"

She rolled her eyes and stalked away, muttering about overprotective vampire boyfriends under her breath.

"Why are you here, Demon?"

"The name's Angelus. And I'm just passing through."

"Keep passing. Forks and the surrounding cities are protected by my coven."

Angelus knew better than to push his luck. This breed of vampire was a lot stronger than his own, with a lot fewer weaknesses.

"I'll leave now."

With his acquiescence, Edward Cullen turned to follow his girlfriend to the movie theatre.

Watching him go, Angelus couldn't hold his silence.

"Hey… one question."

"What is it?"

"How do you get your hair to stand up like that?"
