The Day No One Would Forget: A 9/11 Tribute

This is for all the brave men and women that died trying to save those in the World Trade Center and for those that lost their loved ones on this horrible day.

24 year old Danny stared up at the sky, 10 years, it had been 10 years since that horrible day. The day that thousands had been killed, the day that changed America forever. Sighing he closed his eyes,

He remembered that day, he remembered exactly where he had been, eating at Nasty Burger with Sam and Tucker when suddenly the news flashed on. Normally it would have been ignored, the sounds of the small TV lost in the load yells in the restaurant, but this time it was different.

Everyone watched in silence as one plane flew into the first tower and then a little while later a second plane crashed into the other building. The world stopped, all you could hear were soft gasps and sobs, Danny looked around in shock.

Dash was, he was crying? Paulina was sobbing into Mikey's shoulder and she didn't even realize it, Mikey just stood there in shock, before turning and trying to comfort Paulina. Not because he was trying to be cool or popular, but because it was the right thing to do. Kwan sunk into a nearby chair in shock, dropping his precious football. Star and Valerie both stumbled back in tears. For once Nathan stopped hitting on Valerie, dropping his pictures of her.

Tucker sat petrified his hamburger lay forgotten, but Sam, Sam was in tears. The Goth that was supposed to be so tough was broken.

She buried herself in Danny's arms, who didn't even react, no familiar blush, no sudden widening of the eyes, just tears. He hugged her tightly and no one said a thing. He later learned that he grandpa had been in that tower, that unlike him she had actually lost someone.

He was found alive under millions of bits of rubble, and for a moment there was hope, that hope was demolished three days later when he died clutching his wife's hands. A month later Sam's grandma came to live with her.

She had lost a loved one; he had just been shocked, scared, she had been broken scarred. He looked at her as she clutched to him tightly. He could have stopped all that from happen if only he had known! That's what super heroes were supposed to do, but here he was unable to do anything because Vlad had shocked him with the Plasmius Maximus 2.4 and his powers wouldn't be back for a week, a week to late. He wondered how Vlad felt about that?

Sighing yet again 24 year old Danny lay down in the soft grass. Watching the clouds over head, how could the world be so lovely and yet so cruel?

He remembered the look of fear on his mom's face, the look of horror in his dad's eyes, Jazz was sobbing, her eyes a red and puffy, books and ectogear lay forgotten a lost cause. Ghosts were forgotten, they didn't even blame them for what happened. He had stumbled into the room his own vision blurry from tears and then hugging his family. Apologizing for stuff that was months old, saying I love you over and over because you never knew when the last day was gonna be.

The day after school was deathly quiet, there was no groups, populars and losers huddled together comforting each other, the day that Dash didn't pick on anyone, he had lost an uncle, the day that Mr. Lancer didn't teacher, he lost his sister, the day that nothing made sense, the day that everybody helped anybody, the day that so much blood was donated that it was thrown out, the day that no one would forget.

The day of 9/11/2001.

This is for everyone who was hurt, emotionally or physically in 9/11, ten years later and it still affects us.
