Chapter 12.
Bella.
Our piano lessons have been put on hold.
I can't believe it.
He's being such an ass about it all. Saying that he doesn't want to bother our guests because we need to be entertaining them. The only good thing out of all of this is that I get a week of school. But I mean what's the point, it's the second day they have been here, and all Edward does is walk around trying to entertain our guest, yet he also runs away from Tanya because all she has done is flirt with him day and night. Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm not excited at all. Alice and Rose have been doing everything to cheer me up. Alice tried o cheer me up by taking me shopping, it just made things worst. Rose was the only one who helped; she took me to the bookshop and got me 5 new books so I was cheerful until we got home.
We had walked in all cheerful and I was making my way to the kitchen to find Esme when I walked in on Edward and Tanya. Tanya had him pressed against the kitchen cupboard and was kissing him. And he was kissing her back. I stared a second longer, before I took off into the forest, I knew I wasn't very fast and clumsy and manage to trip a few times before I collapsed and started to sob.
Jasper.
I felt Bella's emotions like a ton of bricks hitting me. I sat up and so did Alice obviously seeing what just happened. I looked over to see Bella with tears streaming down her face as she flew out the door and into the forest. I started after her when Edward emerged from the kitchen with Tanya in tow, and then Alice was next to me glaring at Edward.
"How could you! God Edward, grow up and look around" he growled at her and I stepped in front of Alice, growling right back at him.
"What happened?" I asked Alice.
"Edward and I kissed" Tanya spoke up and I sighed. That's why she was upset, she must have seen them.
"I don't have time for this, I have to go find Bella" he said while trying to push past me.
"No" I said, he growled, "no" repeated, "I will" and then I took off after her, not waiting for his response.
I found her a fair few meters away from the house laying down sobbing. I crouched down next to her and then decided to lie instead. I brushed the hair out of her face and she leaned in to press her head on my shoulder and sighed.
"Why is this hurting me jasper, I should be happy, Edward found someone, but I mean, if anything, anyone but her!" she whispered as another sob wracked through her body.
"I know, I agree, but you know, if anything you should act like you don't care, just show him you are strong Bella, and you know sometimes, you see things, but they might not actually be what they seem" I rubbed her back and she finally calmed down.
She nodded her head and then I helped her stand up.
"You okay?" I asked, she nodded and then wrapped me in a hug.
"Thank you jasper, thank you so much."
Bella
"Bella, Bella, BELLA" I heard a screech in my ear and I turned to see Alice peering up above me smiling, showing all those brilliant white sharp teeth. I groaned and rolled back over but all I received was a tinkling laughter and then she threw the covers back and threw me over her shoulder and walked me to the bathroom. I shouted comments at her, to try and put me down, but she wouldn't give up. Damn pixie.
"Now you are going to dress into this" she shoved some pieces of clothing items at me, then continued "Then you are going to come downstairs, eat breakfast, go out with Tanya, Esme, Rosalie, Irina and Kate, for the day to shop and have lunch, then you will come back with your eyes blindfolded, walk up the stairs, have another shower, get dressed , then you will come down and meet your party and guests" she finished in a huff and then pushed me in the shower and shut the door.
As I walked down the stairs I could hear the lively conversation in the kitchen and when I walked in I was greeted with a chorus of 'happy birthday Bella' everyone except the boys. I looked around confused, until Rosalie spoke up, "out setting up" she said with a smile before wrapping me in her arms and whispering, "my girl is all grown up" I smiled and kissed her on the cheek.
After breakfast like Alice had said all the girls all piled into the car except for her, some not happy about this (Tanya) and we took off to shop.
Emmett.
"So man, Bella is 15, god she's growing up" I looked over to see Edwards's reaction to this. It was neutral. Whatever that was going on in his head must be important, because he didn't even glance at me.
"Edward" jasper prodded. Finally he came back to us and glanced back over, "what?" he asked like we interrupted an important meeting.
"What's up with you man, you're so out of it" he shrugged and went back to hanging the lights on the trees. I looked over at jasper that shrugged as well and also got back to work. I didn't like seeing him like this. I knew why he was like this, and Alice had reassured us it would all figure itself out but it was still hard to watch. I just wanted my brother to be happy. I checked the time. We had about an hour left till the girls get home and the guests start arriving.
The next hour flew by, the girls drove past us and we finished up. Bella hopped out of the car blindfolded and was giggling like crazy as Alice pounced on her back to guide her. She kept swatting at Alice who was getting frustrated but loving it. That was until Edward came and tapped Alice on the shoulder, motioning if he could take over. Alice nodded and jumped of her back and Edward took Bella's hand and started guiding her up the stairs.
Edward.
Once we reached her room I took the blindfold of carefully. And when she opened her eyes, they were sad as they stared at me. Before I could look at her anymore, she turned away and started towards her bed, where the dress Alice got her lie in a black bag.
"Thought it was you" she muttered. God I had missed her voice.
"Hmmm" I replied.
"So, I guess I will see you down there" she mumbled, still not turning to face me. It was killing me. I wanted to see her beautiful face again. No Edward I scolded myself. I took a deep breath, one even though I didn't need it felt like I did.
"Okay" I murmured. Before I left, I turned around to Bella and whispered,
"She kissed me, I didn't kiss her" and on my way out I could hear a sob wrack through her body. And as much as I wanted to comfort her I knew I couldn't.
It was half an hour later, when the girls came down to the party. Most of Bella's classmates where here admiring the marvellous purple and white decorations Alice had put up. She had candles everywhere. The lounge room cleared to make room for a dance floor with a disco ball above. Food spread out against the back wall on a long table. And she had even set up a move around spot light. And then Alice announced Bella and the next second I seen her appear, I wanted to drop to my knees at the sight of her.
She was beautiful, magnificent, that wasn't event the word for it. She was breath taking. And when she looked up from behind her brown curls and stared at me, I knew I had died and gone to heaven. And I knew that I loved her, not as my sister, or my best friend, but in the way that I wanted to be the one to make her happy, to make her laugh and blush, and I wanted to love her forever.
She blushed as I stared at her and when she reached me, she lightly touched my cheek tracing my jaw. I closed my eyes and shuddered. When I opened them, she smiled softly and moved away to greet her guests.
Bella.
Tonight was going wonderful. I had been having a lovely time. It had only been 30 minutes and I had about danced with everyone except a few, those including my dad and Edward. He didn't talk to me much. Actually at all, he hadn't uttered a word, and I found myself every now and then searching for him. And I always seem to find him in a corner watching me, and when he saw I was looking he would smile. But it was sad and I wanted nothing but to erase the sadness away.
I heard the door knock and decided to go and answer it this time. When I opened it, it was my friend Rachel from school and another boy standing behind her.
"Rachel" I hugged her and then smiled.
"Sorry we are late Bella, my dad got caught up with road works, and this is my brother Jacob" she gestured to a russet coloured boy with short black hair and brown eyes, he was in dark blue jeans and a white shirt, and in a way he was sort cute. I smiled at him warmly, like Esme had always taught me. Nice manners.
"Nice to meet you" he said in a deep voice while extending his hand. I smiled.
"Same here, well come on in" Rachel sort skipped in obviously excited, and then she spotted another friend and flitted away to say hi.
"Oh happy birthday, by the way" he said while handing me the gift.
"Thanks" I said while putting it on a table next to me. "Um look I'm not much of a dancer, but I mean, do you want to?" I asked him sweetly. He nodded and a smile appeared on his face. We both turned and walked onto the dance floor and soon the dancing and the lights, all became blurred and I was having too much fun to remember what I was doing.
Edward.
She was dancing with another boy.
It was so painful to watch. They were both swaying to the music, lost in it, and having a lot of fun. A growl was rising in my throat and I was beginning to think of ways to kill the boy when a hand appeared on my shoulder. I looked down to see Alice watching them as well.
"So you finally figured it out" she smiled, still not looking at me. I stared at her in confusion, had she known I was in love with Bella? This whole time and not told me? I hissed at her but she just laughed.
"Oh Edward, yes I did know, but trust me, if anyone had been watching you tonight besides your family, they would have guessed you were the jealous boyfriend watching them." I sighed.
"I'm not going to do anything about it anyway, it's impossible, and she would think I was disguising"
"Well have you given her a choice, to think what she wants, and to decide what she wants?"
I sighed once again. The song stopped and Bella put a hand on his arm to steady her, as she laughed. The beautiful sound floating from her lips. I growled again as he scooted closer.
"Well Edward I guess I will let you be" and then she walked away to find jasper. A slow song came on and I knew I had to do something, because even though this kid hadn't thought anything to bad tonight I still didn't like him dancing with my Bella and so I knew his next move was to ask Bella to dance again. So I quickly cut across the floor till I was standing in front of them.
"Mind if I have this dance Bella" I whispered to her. She looked towards Jacob and he smiled and told her he would catch up with her later.
"So" Bella said "haven't talked to you all night, why have you been alone in those corners all night?" Ahh so she noticed.
"Because a certain blonde vampire was trying to find me." She chuckled and then wrapped her arms tighter around my neck and I found myself slipping my arms tighter around her waist, so they rested on her lower back.
"Bella you look, absolutely utterly breathtaking tonight, do you realise that" a beautiful blush crept up her neck and onto her cheeks and all of a sudden all I could smell was strawberries and freesia.
"Oh blah" she whispered but she rested her head on my chest and I knew I had won her back over.
"You have no idea how much I've missed you" she said leaning back again to look at me in the eyes.
"Me too" I whispered. Those big beautiful brown eyes stared at me; like they had the day I had found her in the forest. And her lips parted as she took small breaths. She was so brilliant. And when my eyes met hers again, I knew that I couldn't do it. She saw me as her best friend, brother, and she would never want me as more than that. And I knew I couldn't let her get any closer to me because if she did I knew I couldn't turn back. So quickly I untangled myself from her, and a small frown appeared on her striking face. I needed to go. Now. I turned quickly and started to run, run away from the now crying girl on the dance floor.

WOW THAT WAS SOOOOOO MUCH FUN TO WRITE hope you guys liked it as much as I liked writing it.
