My Heros Have Always Been Geeks

Summary: A poem paying homage to The Lone Gunman and everyday heros everywhere.

Disclaimer: I do not own the X-Files or the Lone Gunman (I don't even mention them in this poem) Chris Carter and Fox Studios do.

Rating: G

Author's Notes: This is probably crabby but I would ask that you cut me and this poem some slack, I wrote it right after I saw the Ep."Jump The Shark." So, obviously, I wrote this really quickly (seeing as how it aired like 2 hrs. ago).

I know what a hero looks like,

they have code names, uniforms,

special powers and secret identities.

They want to save the world.

Ok, so that's what they look like on tv,

in movies, comic books, and our imagination.

That's the fantasy, but not the reality.

In real life they're subtle- but greater.

Real heros wear Ramon tee-shirts, glasses,

cheap suits, and even cheaper cologne.

They fight the good fight from basements

and garages all over America.

They work in shadows and get no

recognition or respect but that's ok,

that's not why they do it. They fight

because their heart tells them to.

Heros are all around us, you don't see

them, but they're here. You can discredit

them and call them names, but ask me and

I'll tell you: 'my heros have always been Geeks.'
