Daddy's Little Princess
Harry
Dolor
His knees buckled under his own weight and he sank to the ground. He put his hands out infront of him, but the movement made him hiss in pain, his back felt like it was on fire, ther wasn't one inch left that wasn't burning.
He closed his eyes to fight off the dizziness, knowing that not seeing ones surroundings was not a brilliant idea. He was startled when something was pushed against his lips.
"Drink!" A male voice ordered and it took his befuddled brain longer than he wanted to admit to identify it as Ron. The potion burned on his way down, but his vision cleared. He tried to get up, but the moment he moved the pain in his back flared up again, he groaned and fell back down.
"Oh no, mate. Don't do this to me." Another flask was pushed infront of his mouth. "Pain relief, now open 're not supposed to die on me." He did as he was told. He couldn't be sure if he heard right, but he thought he heard Ron say: "You have to marry Ginny, you idiot." Just as his father yelled his name and came running towards them.
James crouched down and peered at his face. Harry blinked to get him into focus.
"Harry? I asked if you are okay?"
"Sure." He mumbled. "Might need some help to stand up, though." He added surly.
Ron and James helped him up, whether the potion was working already or it was the help from the other two men there wasn't as much pain this time. Once he stood he looked up at the big iron gate of Hogwarts and tried to mentally prepare himself for the long track towards the infirmary.
"Any confirmed deaths yet?" He asked and could literally feel the anxiety radiating of Ron, but his father shook his head.
"Let's get you back to your mother, she is going to make me sleep on the couch for a month if she has to wait any longer than necessary. I'll probably get one week anyway, looking at the state your in." His dad nudged his chin. "Think about poor old Dad next time, will you?"
Harry snorted. "I did, everything was on purpose." The three walked over the ward line and felt the magic of Hogwarts wash over them.
"What? You're so mean."
"That's what you get, if you make Sirius a godfather, it's your own fault."
The corridors were nearly deserted and Harry was thankful for it, he really didn't need an audience right now.
The infirmary was bursting with people and although Harry wanted nothing more than to be healed and relieved of his pain, the people around him seemed to have even worse injuries, his eyes swept over the room and he located a lovely piece of wall where he could lean against without his back making contact. His mother walked in and her face broke out in a relieved smile when she cought sight of her husband and son. Harry gave her a little wave and watched as his father gave her a kiss, before whispering in her ear, probably telling her that he wasn't as fine as he wanted her to believe, as her eyes scanned him top to bottom. Lily whispered something back and James left the infirmary again. She walked over to the other side and Harry's breath left him, Remus lay white as stone in a hospital bed. Three healers fluttering around him. Alice forced a blood replenishing potion down his throat and Lily was healing three broken rips, a broken arm and wrist, Andromeda was focused on his upper body, he could only guess what damage was done on the inside.
Alice left Remus first to attend to the others, shortly followed by Lily.
Harry waved them both off towards his friends, Lily gave him an evil look back, but tended to Bill and Alice gave Charlie a quick check-up.
He was still focused on Remus when a flowery smell caught his senses, the whole room smelled of burning clothes and flesh, so where did the flowers come from? The old wedding rings on his necklace began to warm up a bit and he lifted his head to look into bright brown eyes. Ginny, Gwen, Rose and James stood in the doorway.
Neville had a cracked rip and a few nasty bruises, but Lily had him healed in five minutes and if she was quicker than usual nobody dared to say anything about it.
"Okay, your done, sweetheart." His mom told Neville and the great idiot gave her a grin and kissed her cheek.
"Thanks, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I."
"Neville. Just go, shoo." She playfully swatted at him.
"She is married, you dolt." He added a little surly.
"Honey, you're next." Her voice although very soft in volume left no room for arguments, he had left her waiting for as long as she allowed.
He walked towards the now vacated bed and slowly sat down, he moved his shoulder to get his jacket off, but the pain flared up so suddenly that he couldn't keep silent.
"Okay, Neville can you help him?" He nodded and quickly walked over. "Come on, mate. Want to do it fast or slow?"
"Fast of course and next time you strip me down I want a date first."
"Yeah, whatever." Without warning he ripped the jacket off.
"Oh shit, you fucking idiot." Black spots appeared infront of him and he clawed at the bedspread to keep himself from hitting Neville. "Oops." He would hit him later, just for that alone. Oops, really?
"That wasn't necessary boys, we have kids in the room."
His mother moved behind him and he could hear a little sniff. "We still have to get your shirt off or what is left of it."
Alice came over and offered Harry a potion, but he only shook his head.
"Took one already, twenty minutes ago."
"Did it help?" He only hummed as answer.
"Harry."
"Yes, mum. A bit." He added.
"Why do you always end up like this? Can't you try to get more distance between you and your enemy."
"He had no choice, Lils." His father said.
His mother was now cutting up his shirt at his front and the side, so she could remove the most of it.
"Nonsense, you always have a choice." Lily said sharply with a hard look directed at James.
"You will be on rest for at least a week, you will take the time to heal completely, before going out there again. You will listen to me this time. I'm still your mother, I won't tolerate this foolishness. I refuse to bury my son, you owe me grand kids, mister."
He tried very hard not to look at Ginny and sweet little Gwen, why was his mum always trying to embarrass him like this? He needed to get this off topic before she could continue. The numbing spell made his skin burn with warmth.
"Mum, I had to jump back in." He said with a little hiss, when she removed a bigger part of fabric from his burnt skin.
"Jump back in? Harry you better explain yourself, now!"
"Maybe he could have worded that better, but hindsight is always twenty-twenty. He really didn't need to worry another mother now that all was over and they were still all alive. He looked at the Weasley matriarch and back to his mom, as much as he could over his shoulder, which wasn't that much.
"Maman, c'était à cause de mon meilleur ami, il était le dernier dans le compartiment. Il portait secours à quelques premières années, quand le train a pris feu. Je devais y retourné."
She took a deep breath.
"Très bien. Soit plus prudent la prochaine fois, chéri. S'il te plait!"
She went back to her work.
There weren't that many magical people who bothered to actually learn a different language, although the translation spell wasn't one of the easiest spells it was way quicker.
He tried not to look at the time, but it felt way longer than it actually took before his mother started healing his back and the pain finally left.
His stomach grumbled when the elf handed out sandwiches, he practically inhaled it. Rose had teary eyes, so he gave her a wink and she flew over to him.
The Potter siblings cuddled peacefully for a bit, before Ginny's voice brought him back to the present.
"What happened to him?" She asked and looked at Remus.
"He apparated from London when he got the patronus message from Sirius." Harry started and Sirius continued.
"He joined me at the front, we were just making plans when the machine exploded. The driver was too close, there wasn't much lef-, there wasn't much we could do. I got out the door in time, but Remus..."
Silence fell over them again, the only sound coming from the elf handing out food.
"Isn't there a lot of silver in the instruments."
A dreamy voice asked from the window. Everyone turned to look at Luna in surprise. A second later all the healers were crowded around the bed. Molly took Tonks in her arms, so they had more space.
"James, Sirius turn him around we need to see his back." Lily ordered. They sprang into action.
Rose trembled in his arms, so he began to rock slowly from side to side.
"Don't worry so much, little Petal. Uncle Remus is strong." Harry cooed in her ear.
"Yes, there it is." Poppy said satisfied. She waved her wand in a rocky pattern. Remus was lowered down again and Tonks resumed her position, not saying one word. His breathing became stronger and the people in the room relaxed.
He ate another sandwich and convinced Rose to eat something too.
Remus eyes were fluttering open, just when the elf had cleaned away their dishes.
"Remus?" Tonks leaned closer. A groan was heard.
"Oh, Remus, thank Merlin." Her hair changed in the flash of a second to bright pink, long tresses hiding both their faces when she leaned down to kiss him.
"Is he going to be alright, now?" Harry asked Poppy. "Yes." She answered after checking him over.
He nodded satisfied and set his sister down on the bed. The food had replenished his energy and they needed to get a few things done, now that they knew Remus was going to be okay.
"We need to go back to work. Alastor?" The old Auror sighed.
"We can't keep quiet anymore, I asked for help the moment the attack started, their was none. We have to go public. He isn't the friend I once knew."
Harry continued. "We need someone to go to the ministry."
"I'll do that." Arthur said immediately.
"Okay, gather information, everything that could be useful, but take care, there are more and more spies." He nodded and left.
"Mrs. Weasley, if you could go to the Prophet, you are one of the few rested."
Her mother moved closer to him.
"Of course, but first, I know this is the wrong way, but if you could please call me Molly, Mr. Potter. I may not know which of my sons life I owe to you, but I know the reason for you talking French, wasn't a good one. I saw the looks, I raised the twins after all." He looked at her and realised that the brown eyes were very familiar, he extended his hand and with hope for a future that would get them closer said.
"Call me Harry." She smiled at him and they shook hands.
"Okay next we need to send a few people to Kings Cross, the parents will go spare. The train should arrive in half an hour. We need a plan for the Muggle-borns, who doesn't have to stay here, should be send home, as for the others, Muggles can't see Hogwarts. Thanks to Dumbledore and his archaic beliefs they aren't aloud to enter."
"Harry." Oh no, he knew that voice. He turned to his mother and tried for the innocent look.
"Ohm, yes, mum?"
"I hope you don't think about apparating to London." She tapped her wand in her open palm, Lily ment business and although she was focused on Harry, Sirius ried to discreetly move out of harms way.
"Of course not." He said mock shocked. "Dad will go." He married her, so he could deal with the fiery witch.
"Good, otherwise I might have to tie you to the bed."
"You can tie me to the bed if you want, Lily." James said grinning.
Too much information!
"Father!"
Harry shielded Rose ears and after a second of thinking it over her eyes as well. She giggled and tried to take his hands away.
"Please, don't do it Lily, he is always so smug when he gets some." Sirius put his two knuts in.
"What does Daddy get?" Rose asked peeking through Harry's fingers.
"Nothing, honey. Your father will get absolutely nothing." Lily was looking at James. "At least not from me, he can help himself." Sirius snickered loudly.
"Merlin. I'm out of here." Harry muttered and got up. He bent down and gave Rose a kiss on the forehead.
He picked his remaining jacket up and sighing he vanished it, before conjuring a shirt. He buttoned it up and went to leave, but a tiny hand grabbed his sleeve.
"Gwen, let him go." Ginny told her daughter.
"Hawwy." Gwen whined. He turned around and looked at the small hopeful face.
"Yes, Princess?" Gwen smiled angelically.
"Gwen gets kissie too?" Her lips were pouting and he smiled at seeing that.
"Gwen, stop that. I'm sorry." He waved his hand dismissively.
"No worries. What do I get, if I give you a kiss?" Gwen's forehead crinkled in deep thought.
"Gwen kiss you or Mummy kiss you."
He could hear whispering behind him and saw Ginny blushing, now that is a good sign.
"You got yourself a deal." Ginny's eyes widened for a second and was that dissappointment, when he kissed Gwen?
He left and waited for a second behind the door he could hear a happy little squeal and with asmile left down the corridor.
Enjoy!
