So a lot of you seemed to like my one-word drabble "Paradox", and I figured I'd spit this out because, a) Great reviewers deserve a reward, and b) I can't sleep. So there.
And yes, I am well aware that this will probably be mushy. And it might only make sense to me, because I like to use sarcastic comments like this a lot.
Need I say it? I do not, and never will, own PJO. Way to burst my bubble.
O-o-O
Annabeth always had a sarcastic streak.
One of her favorite weapons in her vast arsenal of snarky comments was the word "never". She always enjoyed making people smile and roll their eyes when she used it so incorrectly; if she was lucky, they would tease her back. It sort of became a joke, one that was almost always shared between herself and Percy.
For example, when they had movie nights in his apartment and he would ask her to pass the popcorn, she would say "Never," even as she handed it over.
Or when they were studying for midterms, and he said, "Will you hand me my pen?"
"Never," she said, and tossed it to him.
"Race you to the arena?"
"Never," she yelled over her shoulder as she took off running.
Once, he dislocated his shoulder while sparring, and after popping it back into place he asked, "So do I get a kiss to make my owie all better?"
"Never," she said as she pecked him on the cheek.
And later, when they had both (amazingly) lived to graduate college, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
"Never," she said as she held out her left hand and kissed him quite enthusiastically.
O-o-O
I know that was really short, but I think if I used any more "Never" examples you would've strangled me out of impatience. Right?
Reviews would be greatly appreciated.
