Author's Note: I do not own Ranma ½. I own this story though!

A Bandage Fixes Everything?

"Akane, my heart's beating so fast." Ranma had not noticed the bandage fall off.

"Are you two finished?" Ukyo practically screamed. "The bandage fell off already."

"Shampoo always say men is pigs. Shampoo go, but not give up!" Shampoo stomped her foot.

"I agree with you, Shampoo. Let's get outta here!" Ukyo was furious.

"Ranma?" Akane questioned his feelings always. "Can we go home?"

"Yea, Akane, we can." Ranma and Akane started to walk home in silence.

"I have to say something! But what?" Akane thought to herself. She was still blushing and afraid she would stutter. "Thank you." She managed.

"You're welcome, Akane." Ranma reached out and took her hand into his.

It was the simplest action, and it felt so natural to both of them.

The small gesture made Akane's heart burn. She knew how she felt and it seemed Ranma was coming around to his feelings too.

"Akane, I was wondering…" Ranma stopped in the street and turned to Akane.

"What is it, Ranma? Is something wrong?" Akane wondered out loud.

"Akane, where did you get the bandaid?" He became worried that it was from an enemy.

"It was in the first aid kit. Why?" Akane thought long and hard. She remembered Happosai in there earlier in the day.

"The thing of it is…you see…I have always wanted to say that you were cute to me. Everything I said to you today was the truth. I guess a stupid magic bandage is what it took. Some coward I am." Ranma turned his head away from Akane, ashamed. Mentally he started creating a routine on how to punish himself for his cowardice.

"Ranma?" Akane turned him to face her. Taking his hands into hers she began, "Happosai was in the closet with the first aid stuff. Do you think that, well, maybe he had something to do with the bandage?"

"You know, Akane, I just want you to know that Ukyo and Shampoo, Kodachi too, they mean nothing. You have to believe me. Its, its you I really care about." Ranma took Akane into his arms holding her tightly and close.

Akane couldn't help but smile slightly. She hoped and wished that this was not a dream.

The two continued down the street until just before the Tendo residence.

"Akane, before we go in, I want to make sure you knew that I want you. And only you." Ranma moved closer to Akane.

"My heart…it's racing, Ranma." Akane whispered. Never had she felt so much emotion.

"Mine too, Akane. Lets get through this together."

With that, Ranma dropped his head and brushed his lips against Akane's in a small kiss.

To Akane's surprise, it felt more natural than holding hands, or even the hug had.

The two pulled apart when they heard a voice.

"Out all night I see?" Nabiki questioned.

"That's not good, Akane." Kasumi commented.

While the crying fathers of the two children were so overjoyed at the two getting together (finally), they couldn't let the two get away with the fact they had been out all night long.

Both Akane and Ranma took their punishments with pride. Neither one cared that the family had seen them kiss.

During the course of his week of grounding, Ranma couldn't stop thinking about the kiss shared between himself and Akane. He knew it was only the beginning of many.

Everytime Akane passed Ranma's room, she took extra long. In hopes they might see each other in passing. Today, however, she skipped the prolonged time at Ranma's door and headed directly into the kitchen with Kasumi.

"Alright. Im ready." Akane announced as she rolled up her sleeves. "I just hope I am not making a mistake." She thought to herself.

"My. Are you certain?" Kasumi was worried at first. But after remembering that she witnessed the kiss between her baby sister and Ranma, reassured her that it was only right to help Akane with her bridal training.

"Im certain." Akane took the eggs and set them on the countertop. All the while humming with Kasumi.
