A/N: This is a story for my close friend, TedTheodoreLogan. Love you!
Dib's breathing was hard as he ran across Zim's lab and ducked behind an array of oversized test tubes. He tried hard to stay calm as he heard the door slam open. He closed his eyes and shuddered as the voice of the alien floated through the room.
"Dib-thing…"
Zim hissed, his long tongue movements disgusting Dib. Dib glared hard through the green liquid in the odd shaped tube. Why was it so hard to expose Zim for what he was. It wasn't like it was hard to tell what he really was, with his green skin and over slicked hair. Not to mention that he did a terrible job hiding it with the way he acted.
People thought that Dib was crazy, chasing Zim for years. If he was correct, it had been around 5 years. He was merely 11 when Zim first came to the planet.
Dib was truly amazed, however, at how alike he and Zim seemed to be. On Zim's home planet, no one seemed to believe in him. Why else would the Earth still not have been invaded by aliens? Here on Earth, Dib wasn't believed in either. Not even by his father. The only person that had come around to believe him was his sister, Gaz. She had seen first hand Zim as an alien around 2 years back when Dib dragged her on in an invasion of Zim's lab.
Dib's thoughts were interrupted by a warm breath on the back on the back of his neck. His pupils doubled in size as he whirled around to face to Irken invader. He took a step back, away from the alien that now toward over him by about 3 inches.
A low growl escaped the lips of Zim, followed by a smirk and a hiss.
"This is the third time this week I caught you in my lab, Dib."
His voice was fast and low. His eyes scanned over the male that coward beneath him. He was beginning to become such a pain lately. Zim just couldn't do anything without having the annoying little human looking over his shoulder. Though, he had to admit that by now he was used to it and came to look forward to Dib's crazy schemes. Lately, he realized that he didn't have to worry about Dib exposing him. It had come to his attention that no one actually cared. He opened his mouth to say something more when his dim witted personal robot stumbled in, carrying a tray full of waffles.
"GIR! DO YOU MIND? I'M TRYING TO DEAL WITH DIB!"
GIR blinked twice and then began to whine.
"But I made waffles! Lots and lots of waffles!"
Zim brought his palm to his forehead and sighed. Over the years GIR had gotten no better at being the evil minion he was assigned to be. Zim sighed again and looked back up at his robot minion.
"Fine, fine. So you made waffles. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?"
GIR thought for a moment and saluted to Zim.
"We eat waffles now? Hmmmm?"
Zim growled under his breath something about GIR being incapable of doing so and so. Dib only caught parts of what he said.
"Fine! Just let me dispose of Dib."
GIR saluted once more to Zim and marched out of the room without another word. Dib gulped at Zim's words. Dispose of him? What was he planning on? Normally he would simply kick him out. The Irken chuckled at Dib's response. He had an idea. With that his hands slinked around Dib's neck and he chuckled once more. Dib fought back against his hands, struggling to break free. But he was too strong. One last wiggle and his world went black.
