AN: I wrote two for my very first E/O Challenge (prompt was Late), and they sort of go together. I see this as a sequel to Gone, but can be read alone. Seriously though, they're 100 words each. Just go read it.
Dean found himself in a familiar place. It took him only a few minutes to realize that it was an empty field in '97. He'd been here twice, once when it happened, and once in heaven.
He knew he was dead, again. Maybe finally. He was watching Sam shoot off the fireworks, not interacting, when he heard the all too familiar sound that signaled Cas's arrival.
"Dean… I was too late. I am sorry."
"Am I here for good?" A solemn nod. "You gonna keep me company?"
"When I can."
"Sam safe?" Another nod. "Ok then. I can handle that."
