Me and Mrs. Jones
We got a thing going on
We both know that it's wrong
But, it's much too strong
To let it go, now...

They moved slowly as they danced - her head on his shoulder, his hand on her lower back. Innocent by most standards, just two people dancing in a small crowd of others doing the same.

But, it wasn't truly innocent. As the song stated, what they were doing would be considered wrong by others. People with decision-making powers that could destroy much of what they'd achieved thus far.

Still, they danced...the words of this particular song reverberating in their souls.

We both know that it's wrong
But, it's much too strong
To let it go, now...

She wasn't married, but her career might as well be considered her spouse; it carried as much clout in her life. Moreso, in fact. His too, for that matter. Obligations were rife and kept them apart in the ways they both wanted most.

We've gotta be extra careful
That we don't build our hopes up too high
Cuz she's got her own obligations
And, so...do I...

But, for now, they would dance to a song riddled with metaphors for the lives they currently lived. Lovely, poignant.

Yet, without the resolution of fulfillment. For now.
