A/N: so i needed a break for another fic i've been powering through, and this popped into my head. It's nothing original, just short and, you know, sweet. :)

Sweet

Jou had wandered away from the pool and his friends, the void gnawing at his stomach becoming too much to ignore any longer. Mokuba had directed him towards the kitchen and that was where he now stood, in his swimming trunks, staring hungrily into the cabinets.

"Can I help you?"

Jou nearly jumped out of his skin, spinning around to find the older Kaiba brother leaning against the door frame watching him. His briefcase was sitting on the floor by his feet with his tie draped over it, and Jou found himself distracted by the little bit of collar bone peeking out from where the top few buttons of Kaiba's shirt were undone. He realized he was staring and a light pink blush bloomed across his cheeks.

"Ah, I was just... um..." he trailed off when Kaiba moved forward, invading his personal space. Jou tried to back up, but Kaiba had effectively trapped the blond between himself and the counter.

Jou fidgeted, his rosy cheeks deepening to tomato red. Kaiba was so close he could feel his body heat, and it was starting to make his brain short-circuit. "I'm hungry.." he managed, unable to tear his gaze away from those electric blue eyes.

"Do you know what you want?" he asked, smirking.

That snapped Jou out of his daze. Damn. Now Kaiba was laughing at him. Jou frowned. "Yeh," he said slipping out from between Kaiba and the counter. "I want something sweet. Nothing bitter or sour."

Kaiba smiled. "I can do sweet," he said.

"Like hell you can," Jou muttered, leaning against the center island several feet away from where Kaiba still stood.

The young executive opened the fridge next to him. He leaned in and pulled something out. "How about these?" Kaiba asked, holding out a small carton of sliced strawberries. "They're very sweet, but still a little sour." He walked over to Jou, once again eliminating the space between their bodies while he popped one of the small, bright red morsels into his mouth. Jou was mesmerized by the action; by the way the bit of fruit disappeared behind those lips; by the way that long, slender throat moved when he swallowed. He was so distracted that he hadn't noticed how close Kaiba had gotten until he felt the other's warm breath against his face. "I hope they'll make do," Kaiba murmured, then suddenly his lips were upon Jou's and the blond's entire brain just shut down.

The kiss was slow, and subtle, and sweet enough to make you cry. And in far too short a time, Kaiba broke it, stepping away from the shorter teen. "Well?" he asked.

Jou managed to force two words through the fog of his mind. "Strawberries. Perfect," he breathed.

Kaiba smiled. "Good. Then after every one else leaves, how about you stay for desert?"

Jou felt his face light up like a stop light.
