Wow, this took a while. Anyways, here it is, just before school decides to ruin my life once again.

Here you go, it's short, but here nonethelss

Cristina's POV~

The atmosphere was still too tense after the bombshell Goodwin decided to drop on us. The fate of the world depended on us and it was just put into our laps. It was like giving toddlers a toolkit and expecting them to fix a fridge. It was a stupid comparison, but it could get the point across.

I let out a frustrated sigh and slumped more in my seat, nearly sliding off. I was not prepared for this and truth be honest, I thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Maybe I was in slight denial until I was told those large shadowy creatures that popped up during dueling games took souls as nourishments.

"So much for peaceful living." I exasperated, looking over to Akiza who was on the couch adjacent to mine. She was looking down at her hands, probably thinking about what Goodwin had warned us.

"Who knew such a thing existed, and this war…" She said absent-mindedly, stroking her forearm that held her signer mark. Hell, I didn't know that people like her existed, making duel monsters be in a physical state.

"Um, Yusei?" Luna piped up as I watched her start to approach where the man was. I didn't know how he was handling this.

As soon as Goodwin brought us to the room, he immediately went to the balcony to be alone with his thoughts. He was definitely not in a talking mood when I tried to offer him water.. It was annoying to say the least, but I knew he handled things better during this time. It will be difficult to grasp that your ex-best friend is trying to kill you ever since he became a dark signer. Different ways of realization I guess. I usually went into a mode of denial then fits of complaints.

"I…wouldn't bother him right now." Akira hesitated, looking over to Yusei as well.

"Huh? What's going on with him, guys? Has he been out there all morning?" Akira nodded as I crossed my arms.

"He's dealing with his own, just realizing that his best friend tried to kill him."

"Killing and the netherworld aren't the same." Akira interjected as I scoffed.

"They might as well since they practically result in the same thing. You are still gone either way." I grumbled, my lower body hanging from the chair. I started to pull myself up as Akiza started to finish my sentence.

"I don't know all too well, but it must be tearing him up to know one of his childhood friends jumped the fence and became one of those Dark Signers." Akira added on, throughly ignoring my childish antics as I repeated my actions of sliding off the couch.

"That must be rough on him." Luna expressed sadly.

"It's rough on all of us." It was obvious on how Jack went off on his own, stomping his feet wildly when going up the stairs. "Are you having second thoughts about fighting this Army of Shadows?"

I was a little disgruntled on Luna's answer. "No way! I'm in this! The thing is…I've got someone I'm trying to help and I think fighting the Dark signers is the way to do it!"

She must be talking about Ancient Fairy Dragon from the tournament. I thought we defeated the enemies to release what was holding her, but unfortunately not.

"You know I can fight for the two of us. You don't have to worry your precious head." I cooed, crawling over to Luna and bringing her into a hug, nuzzling my head to her shoulder. "So brave in such a terrible world."

"Crissy, stop." Luna complained as I felt her hands pressed against my face, "You're going to crush me."

"Crush you with love." I teased, snickering as I saw a shy small appeared on her face. I did truly wish she didn't have to join this. Life was simple when I was just the odd babysitter to these children of absurdly rich parents who were by far too much neglected.

I saw Yusei moving from the corner of my eye and perked up, about to greet him, but frowned to see that he was looking down at the floor. Should I try to approach him about this right now?

"Hey, Yusei, wanna have a practice duel? I definitely gotten better from–"

"Sorry, but not right now Luna. I need some time alone." Yusei interrupted without missing a beat.

"Oh." I frowned at how quickly her mood changed to looked at the man in annoyance. No eye-contact and his voice was anything but light. I was about to call him out on it, perhaps a little threatening would shape him up until Luna tugged on my arm that was still wrapped around her.

"Can you–"

"Of course I'll play with you!" I replied with a smile, "I gotta make sure you are good enough to defend yourself from such baddies when I'm not around!"

"No, I was going to ask if you could let me go, I was going to see Leo." My heart just stopped beating a few moments as I nodded, but kept a smile up.

"Yeah, I'll just be hanging around here. Make sure he isn't causing too much trouble." I said, removing myself before sitting on my legs. I watched as she circled around and left the room. Soon after, I let out a groan, my hands covering my face.

"Yusei…" She mumbled, knowing despite them all being affected, they were simultaneously affected by him. He was the focal point of why everyone was here. Staring off into space for a second. What was I doing? I yelled at him before to straighten himself up so this should not be anything different.

"Cristina, talk some sense into him!" I pumped myself, clenching my fist, "Knock some sense into him."

After a few encouragements to myself, I pushed herself up, already on the search for where he went.

"Oh, there you are. Finally! If you're not brooding on the balcony, you're doing it on the grass." I said, panting slightly as I went on a mad search for the man, asking passing maids if they have seen Yusei. With a few struggles here and there, I found him sitting on a grassy knoll and surprisingly, Jack by his side.

"Don't worry, my brooding is over." He replied, "Somehow, Jack knocked some sense into me, literally." He rubbed his stomach to indicate where he taken the blow. Oh, he did get hit by Jack who was staring off, holding a pair of glasses.

"The hell, Jack! I should kick the hell out of–" Yusei's hand shot in front of Jack as he gave me a reassured look. It slowed my pace, but I still had the intent of payback. That was my job.

"Relax, I needed it."

"You're damn right you needed to get some sense knocked into you, but I wanted to do it! I had a whole speech prepared and everything. I wasn't even going to threaten you with a knife this time–it was quality." I whined as his eyebrow rose.

"So..are you more angry that Jack hit me or just the fact you didn't get to me first?" A sly smirk appeared on my face, "Don't even need to answer that."

Giving out a small chuckle, I made my way over to him, flicking at the front of his bangs. "Just let one of us know, Yusei. You can lean on us for support; we are all in this till the end, you know that."

"I'll show him a left hook if he ever gets that way again." Jack piped up. Of course he was overjoyed in punching Yusei. The arrogant fool got his ridiculous title stolen from him; maybe it was revenge.

"No more doubts?"

"No more doubts." He replied to my question with a more confident look. That was good to know. He won't be the only one in such a mess, but with just understanding each other, we will be there to help one another–it was a hope.

"Feeling any better?" Akiza's voice popped out of the blue as I looked over my shoulder. When did she leave the building? It was a rather pointless question, but I was curious on why she made off on her own.

"Yeah, don't worry about it." Yusei replied as she nodded with a smile.

"That's good, because I was starting to worry. We can't save the world without imminent doom without you, you know." She was just further proving a point that Yusei was the reason they were all here together. Even if goodwin was the one making them meet up, Yusei was the one with the charismatic skills.

"It's all of us, Akiza, not just me." Yusei, being the humble one.

"When do we leave for the Satellite–"

"Yusei!" Everyone was just conveniently gathering up. There was Luna running to us and she looked a bit more better than before. I was confused on why Leo was staying back, "You're coming, right?"

"You bet!" That seemed to bring Luna's mind at ease to see Yusei returning to his old self.

"But what about Leo?" Akira asked, seeing the man acting out of his nature. He would usually be the first one to be yelling about the trip. Did he have doubts or what?

"Leo, are you coming?" I yelled out, seeing him step forward before giving a rather serious nod. I never saw him act in such a way and it made me whine at how mature they were becoming. He started to run over with a large grin on his face.

"Hey you guys! Are you ready for this?!" He asked as if he was going to be leading us on some great battle, "I can't wait to watch you take those darks signers down! It's gonna be so awesome since you're the best Yusei."

"Thanks." Yusei replied with a chuckle. I cleared my throat, pouting to see him get such praise. It's not like I spent a year taking care of him when he was sick and such.

"Oh, don't worry, Cristina. You and Jack are awesome too, even if Yusei took both of you down during the tournament."

"Ouch." I replied, covering my heart, "Just stab me a bit harder why won't you!"

"Just cause I lose doesn't mean I'm not the best"

"Yes it does." I added in, seeing a chance to insult Jack. There were not a lot of times to ignite a menacing reaction.

"Don't you start talking, you lost to Yusei before you even got to verse me! I would have take you out in 5 turns." I was just being morbidly attacked today. I raised my fist at the blonde-haired man, really to threaten him as Yusei gave me the motherly-scolding look he perfected.

"Don't worry, I still look up to you and everything."

"Look you, I'm always going to be the best. Jack Atlas doesn't lose!"

"Okay, but you technically lost to Yusei who is now the best."

Watching the banter back and forth, I let out a small angry huff and crossed my arms over my chest.

"I could have been the best and maybe then Leo wouldn't give me such an embarrassing nickname." I grumbled out, slowly sat down to sit next to Yusei.

"Could have." Yusei teased, not missing the chance to see me complain and banter as well. Slapping his arm, I shook my head as he let out a small chuckle.

"You lost the championship, that makes you number two, and Cristina is number three!"

I did not know how long those two were going to go at it, but at the corner of my eye, I saw Akiza trying to contain her giggles, Luna doing the same. It made me realize that this weird mix might just actually save the world.

Here you go, I will try to keep up, but there is no commitment on that
