Suna Dynasty:

Pacing. That's what he had been doing since he got the message. Gaara's emotions were in turmoil. Anger, pain, and confusion wrapped him in a cocoon of blind misery. His mind was racing with the implications. How could this have happened? How was it possible? Nothing was making any sense. Things jumbled through his mind tumbling one right after another. How had a demon manage to gain that power and why was it using him? Of anyone why him? Hadn't he sacrificed enough? Given enough? Hadn't his mate given enough? God, the look on his face. It broke Gaara's heart. What about Naruto? How would he take the news? The very thought of his reaction left knots in the pit of his stomach. Naruto was so soft hearted when it came to those he loved and he was someone Naruto loved with every breath in his body. If this demon was using him then it was going for Konoha's Ra specifically and that left a foul taste in his mouth. He needed to find his friend, now more than ever. He didn't like the idea of forcing his mate to reveal information he was not comfortable giving but they needed to get to Naruto right now.

Pale lavender eyes followed his every motion. The brunette was at a loss. He has never seen his Vampiric lover like this. Gaara had always portrayed ultimate calm to the point where it caused Neji to be uncomfortable at times, though that was nothing compared to this hurricane of emotions causing his restless pacing. This display had Neji craving for the calm he was used to. Gaara's current frantic pacing was all caused by just a piece of disconcerting news from the Tigers. At the received news Gaara had gone still as a statue, and then ordered everyone but Kakashi and Tsunade out. And then his pacing began. Neji wasn't completely sure he understood what had been relayed to them, so in turn was unsure how to soothe his redheaded mate's constant pacing. Gaara's expression was a mixture of cold disbelief, uncertainty, and insurmountable pain. Gaara was usually so blank faced it was strange seeing him like this. Even stranger still was Kakashi's reaction. He didn't understand why the vampire reacted so strongly to the news. It unnerved Neji still as he thought back on the occurrences, a few short hours ago.

A few hours ago:

The discussion of how best to contact Naruto wasn't going well. Neji advocated for a simple letter. Tsunade on the other hand wanted to storm the Den and take him back. Apparently the woman threw all caution and rational thought right out the damn window when it came to her Ra. Not that Neji didn't understand how he felt, Naruto was important to him too. And unfortunately for the brunette Gaara was siding with the blonde Isis, despite Neji's confidence that Naruto was fine and a simple letter would suffice. So they were at an impasse. Neji refused to reveal the Den's location and Gaara and Tsunade refused the simple solution. The ever silent Kakashi was ready to voice his own opinion when the doors to the chamber burst open.

Standing in the open door was a former Anubis looking as if the world had twisted on its head. His voice was shaky and uncertain when he spoke.

"M..My lord. We have news from the tigers! Unsettling news."

Gaara's gaze locked on him. "Go on."

The old one swallowed and nodded. "They say a demon has come through a portal, without the help of a summons of a vampire. It headed straight towards the place the Konoha Dynasty's Ra is being held. The StormWalker Den."

"What aren't you saying old man?"

"Ra Gaara. I..I.."

"Now!"

The man hesitated before speaking in a hushed tone. "The elders of the tigers say the Demon that came through bore a striking resemblance to the former Ra of the Konoha Dynasty. Ra Naruto's father."

Gaara felt the very breath leave his body. But it was Kakashi's strained voice that broke the silence.

"That's not possible. He died."

"I'm sorry master Kakashi; I don't want to believe it either. But it is extremely unlikely the Tigers are wrong. We both know that."

Both teal and lavender eyes watched as all the color drained from the Anubis's face and all the strength seeped from his legs. He hit his knees and shook his head over and over and kept repeating that it couldn't be true.

Present:

That was when Gaara had ordered everyone out. Tsunade had taken a distressed Kakashi to rest. After they had left is when Gaara had begun his relentless pacing. Neji knew about Naruto's father. He had died when Naruto was a child. But his question was; why would a Demon take on his face? What would that gain it? None of this made any sense and his head was beginning to hurt. Besides that he needed to get Gaara to talk to him. Something told him they needed to get to the StormWalker clan, and soon.

"We need the location of your cousin's den." Gaara's voice was soft as he touched Neji's cheek. "Please, Neji. I'm not asking you to betray them. But I can't leave Naruto with them. Not now."

Neji could feel the tension in his lover's body, even see it. Gaara was never one for dramatics or overreactions. But the Hyuga could see the panic and pain deep in the Suna Ra's eyes. He would be lying if he said he didn't feel panicked himself. Something was wrong he could feel it deep in his heart. Whatever was going on was something sinister and foreboding. Neji couldn't shake the feeling of wrongness and he knew it was what was fueling Gaara's distress. There was no longer time for thinking only acting. Grabbing hold of the red head's wrist Neji nuzzled his hand and his reply was soft yet firm.

"I know. Something has my wolf's hackles up. We need to hurry."

StormWalker Den:

Sasuke breathed in deeply coming awake to the scent of a sun bleached ocean beach with a twinge of blood. The scent of his mate was something he would never tire of. Even with the hinted undertones of blood and death. It was uniquely Naruto. The scent of a mate was addictive in every way. His vampire was Sasuke's own special brand of opium. Something he would never give up. He opened his eyes to peer down at the male sleeping cradled in his arms. Naruto's gold hair was in more of a spikey disarray than normal sticking straight up in some spots. His face was relaxed in sleep though his lips portrayed a perpetual pout. One slender, tan hand was trapped beneath his cheek and Sasuke's chest while the other was resting on the wolf's stomach with its fingers splayed out. Naruto looked completely peaceful. This is where Sasuke wanted to keep this gorgeous male. He wanted to keep him in the bliss filled peacefulness forever. Naruto deserved it more than anyone. He deserved the very best Sasuke could give and he would get just that no matter what.

Sasuke was contemplating going back to sleep when loud banging interrupted his musings. His gaze rose to the door as he glowered at it. As he pulled himself from the bed and put his pants on he walked to the door. Someone better have a good reason for disturbing his peace. Sasuke yanked open the door to yell at whoever was on the other side, but he didn't get to voice his irritation before something connected hard with his chest sending him careening into the dresser directly behind him. The loud crash had startled the blonde awake and piercing blue eyes snapped open to assess the situation. What he found made his blood boil. Sasuke was pulling himself up with a grunt from the now broken dresser and two demons waltzed into the room as if they owned the damn place. Both the intruders made a move for the vampire but Naruto was not only fast but agile as he dodged them both. Sasuke felt his wolf rise to the surface as the two again tried to get hold of their lover. Fur slipped over skin while bones shifted and teeth elongated. The change was quick, over in a blink of an eye, and the Sasuke was on the two. His massive jaws sank into the neck and shoulder junction of one and with a shake of his head the demon's head was wrenched from his shoulders. Dropping the dead demon to the floor he whipped around to grab hold of the other only to find his mate had already disposed of him. Sasuke walked to his mate and nuzzled his face against Naruto's own. The Ra wrapped his arms around his fur covered neck and hugged him before pulling away. He then quickly found some clothes and dressed while Sasuke went to the bed. After Naruto had finished dressing Sasuke let a Katana drop from his mouth at Naruto's feet.

Sword in hand Naruto followed Sasuke's wolf form out into the hall. The den was in complete chaos as the wolves fought to protect their home against the demons. Zabuza and Haku could be seen among them fighting viciously. Naruto didn't understand what was happening. He could sense a high level demon and no Vampiric summoner and that in and of itself alarming. High level demons shouldn't be able to push their way into this world without help and yet he could sense this one had done just that. Whoever this demon was he was powerful and something about what Naruto could sense felt wrong. Something was off about this one that made him uneasy and his heart race. They needed to take them down and quickly or this was going to be a blood bath. Sasuke seemed to sense this as well and when he turned his head towards Naruto he gave a nod.

Once Neji gave him the location of the Storm Walker den Gaara gathered his Osiri along with Naruto's. His unease was intense and he could tell that his people could feel it. Kyuubi was on one side of him glaring at any who dared approach them. Gaara felt her brush her flank against him in a subtle touch of comfort, something the Suna Ra appreciated greatly. He knew as long as Kyuubi was with them Naruto was alright because she would disappear if Naruto's life was extinguished. Kyuubi was beyond powerful but when she had bonded her soul to Naruto's her fate was forever linked to his. The sight of her was a comfort all its own. Kakashi was standing on his other side, a stoic mask in place. Gaara knew better though. The tension of the other vampire was high and was visible to the trained eye. It was in the way he held himself, the firm set of his jaw and squared shoulders. The silver haired Anubis only fell back on his Osiri training when he needed to close himself off to those around him. Gaara felt his heart throb in pain. Since taking charge of Naruto, Kakashi had begun to be more easy-going and relaxed. Naruto's smile and optimistic personality was infectious. It was hard for Kakashi to hold onto his dreary outlook after losing his mate. In fact the last time the redhead had seen this particular mode of the feared Hound of Konoha was when his blonde friend was nearly killed by a snake shifter by the name of Orochimaru. Now he was staring at not the lazy, easy-going Kakashi, but the hard, cold, and emotionless Hound.

Said vampire turned an empty dark eye towards the Ra of Suna. Meeting his stare full on Gaara watched a flicker of emotion cross that steely gaze. Hound wanted Gaara to stay behind where he was safe but Hound ultimately knew that he would never abandon his friend and that both relieved and irritated the Osiris. The silver haired male didn't wish for his blonde son to loose anyone he cared for again. As he watched Gaara prepare for a fight he made a silent promise not to let it happen before he slipped on his mask and with the rest of their group headed straight for the StormWalker Den.

Both Naruto and Sasuke moved together. It was an unconscious thing on both their parts. It came naturally for the two to move as the other did. Whatever move Sasuke made Naruto mirrored, and vise-versa. The two moved much like they had when they first fought against one another. A single move changed the dance and both followed and led fluidly. It was awe inspiring to watch before as they fought one another now as they fought together against a common enemy it was breathtaking. It was as if the two of them were extensions of the same body trapped in a beautiful sword dance it couldn't stop. It didn't stop at just the two of them either. Their powerful energy seeped into the pack members present in the hall. Without thought each wolf moved about the pair like they too were nothing more than part of that same body. Even as the demons managed to separate the Alpha from his mate it didn't matter. The wolves that stood with the Vampire stayed with him, Zabuza among them. Naruto bounded off of them, over them and around them taking down demons and the wolves simply moved as he did. They were a fluid creature that lashed out violently and defended defiantly. They became a perfect combat unit in under a few seconds.

Soon the room reeked of dead demon and not one among them was alive. Naruto walked with the large wolf that was Zabuza back to Sasuke's side. Haku put his arms around Zabuza's neck and Naruto put a hand on the fur of Sasuke's scruff. Sasuke's dark eyes lifted to his mate's cerulean ones. The blonde gave a curt nod towards the front of the den. The Demonic was right outside the den waiting. Sasuke shifted back to his human self and Hinata who had hidden until the fighting had ended came to hand him clothes and another Katana. Sasuke gave her a small smile in thanks and dressed quickly tying the sword to his hip. He couldn't shake this sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach as he watched Naruto, his mate, stare intently at the entrance to the den. His vampire had an unsettled expression on his gorgeous face. Naruto was the Demon Vampire and the fact that this Demonic outside Sasuke's home had him on alert was not a good sign. This one must be one of the powerful old ones. That fact mixed with fear for his pack and protectiveness for his newly acquired mate. This fight was going to be a nasty one. Sasuke felt himself stand with new reason. He had a pack and a mate to protect and he would damn well do it. If this bastard managed to kill him then he at least wouldn't have gone down without a damn good fight. He grasped hold of Naruto's wrist and gave a gentle squeeze gaining his blonde's attention. Naruto's gaze was steely and colder than any arctic tundra. That was the only thing Sasuke needed to see to know Naruto was far more than pissed.

The Konoha Ra felt his anger slipping through his hard won mask. These demons attacked his mate's den and pack, harming many of them and killing a few. The stench of the wolf's blood made his stomach turn. This was Sasuke's pack and being the alpha's mate meant that this pack belonged to him as well. As he watched the front of the den and thought on it, the more his anger built. However it wasn't just his anger. He could feel Kyuubi's pushing at him as well. She was livid that some damn demon of any caliber would have the balls to attack her kit. Naruto knew she had felt his bond with Sasuke solidify into being and also knew his anger was matched by hers. This Demonic would pay for the harm he has caused and Naruto wouldn't give him the chance to cause more. He felt Sasuke's hand on his wrist and turned to look at him. His mate shared in his anger as well and the need to protect not only each other but their pack as well buoyed between them. Naruto turned his wrist in his wolf's hand and gripped tight to his wrist. They shared another nod and headed for the den's entrance, Zabuza beside Naruto and Haku next to Sasuke.

Once outside the demons attacking stopped and stared at them. Wolves moved from their positions until they stood just behind their alpha and Naruto. Sasuke let some of them brush their flanks against him and some of the more brave ones even brushed against Naruto. The blonde Ra let his fingers brush through their fur as his gaze traveled around to the demons standing motionless before them. The need to fling Sasuke and the wolves into the den behind him hit hard and Naruto almost gave in to the inkling. The stillness of the demons unnerved him. They were waiting on something or someone. Naruto ground his teeth; he was not letting these bastards overwhelm them. He took a slight step forward as power wafted off of him like a tidal wave. Sasuke and his wolves watched as like before at the Konoha Dynasty power became visible and swirled around the vampire. The blonde raised his hand and the swirling power turned a vibrant light blue and formed a ball. In the blink of an eye Naruto was gone only to be found again in the air throwing that ball of light at the demons. Dust and debris flew into the air as the powerful attack connected forcing the pack to cover their eyes until it cleared. Naruto landed lightly on his feet beside his mate and watched with cold eyes as the dust settled revealing nothing but dead demons.

The sound of clapping from across the clearing drew all of their attention. The sight of the newcomer slammed the air right out of Naruto's lungs. Standing just out of the tree line the moon light stood another vampire that had every wolf's hackles up. This man stood a few inches taller than Naruto with the same lithe build. He wore a perfectly tailored red suit that fit like the proverbial glove. Dark brown, shoulder length hair was pulled up into a half ponytail while the rest lightly brushed his shoulders. Cold, blood red eyes, once a warm chocolate brown, stared them down without a flicker of emotion. Just below those chilling eyes a scar stretched from cheek to cheek across the bridge of his nose. His smile was anything but kind as it used to be and showed far too much fang.

"Bravo, Naruto!" A frozen Arctic tundra would have been an island paradise compared to the tone of voice that floated across the clearing to them.

Naruto felt like he was trapped in a horrendous nightmare, his voice breathless. "Dad."
