Ash Ketchum, future Pokemon master, and his best friend Misty Waterflower, gym leader of Cerulean City, were lying on the couch on a rainy summer day. The tv flickered as Ash changed from channel to channel.
"Ash, would you quit! That's giving me a headache!" Although the redhead was now 21 and had filled out in many places, her temper still remained.
Too tired to argue, the raven-haired boy sighed and placed the remote on the coffee table. Misty raised her eyebrows in surprise as she had expected him to argue back as usual.
As the rain grew stronger, thunder and lightning started occuring around them. They were home alone because Delia, Ash's compulsive mother, had gone over to Professor Oak's lab to join him for lunch. Now, with the tv on some random channel and it storming like crazy outside, everyone was stuck where they were until the dangerous storm cleared.
Misty yawned and placed her head on her friend's shoulder. He was suprised at the sudden touch, but smiled at her. A comfortable silence fell over the two
A muffled beeping noise interrupted the quiet, and Misty shot up. She franticly looked around for the object making the sound. Finally, she held up her hand in victory. Clenched in it was a baby blue cell phone. She opened it up, immediately smiling.
"Who's it from?" Ash's voice startled her, making her instantly hide her phone.
"Um, no one," She quickly stated, even if she was nervous.
That was not the answer Ash wanted. He suddenly lurched towards her, grasping for her phone. She stuggled as the raven-haired boy tried to pry it out of her grip. He had grown, too, as he was now 19, and finally concquered against her. He held up the phone, fury growing in him as he read the name.
"You're texting Rudy?" Anger made him stand up. Anger made him run his fingers threw his unruly hair. Anger made him throw his phone on the couch where he was sitting just moments before.
"Yes! Is there a problem?" She stood up as well. He was now taller than her, but the fire in her eyes met the fire in his.
"YES! He's not right for you, Mist!" He yelled at her, his fists clenching and unclenching.
"Oh, and who is? No one has ever been good enough for me to you! So, who's 'right' for me?" She used her small fingers to use air quotes.
"Me!" He grabbed her face, kissing her with all the passion that had built up in him for years. She kissed him back with just as much passion. Passion that had been waiting to be let loose forever, and never built up again.
When they finally broke, they were both out of breath. Feeling the breaths each other let out heavily. Ash leaned his head on hers.
"Did you even read the text?" Misty whispered, finally gaining air back.
"I don't care," With those words, he kissed her again.
The phone still layed on the couch, open with the text. It read:
Ash is such a lucky guy, and he doesn't even know it yet. You should let him know you love him. I'm on your side. Just come back and visit Maria sometime. She misses you. And Ash. Don't tell her I told you this but she has a crush on him. Shhh. ;) Talk to you soon.
