Noah knew he was being stupid. That Rex wouldn't care and love him just as much as he did before he'd turned Evo and been cured all in the same night.

He knew it was dumb, but when Rex's hand slipped under his top during their making-out like it normally did he couldn't suppress his first instinct to push the touch away. He knew he'd hurt Rex, who instantly pulled back from their lip lock to see what had cause his boyfriend's distress, but he also didn't want Rex to see. He didn't want the person he loved most to know his shame.

So he avoided Rex's questioning gaze and hid his eyes with his long bangs.

Rex didn't say a word at his boyfriend's behavior and instead cupped his face gently with his gloved hand.

Noah leaned almost tiredly into the touch and closed his eyes in the same tired manner.

Wordlessly Rex grasped the edge of his top and pulled it up slowly, noting how Noah's eyes closed tighter together as he drew the cloth higher.

Noah knew Rex had found what he'd been looking for when he heard the taller boy's breath catch and his grip tighten.

He didn't really know what he expected to happen next. If Rex would freak out or yell or maybe just get up and leave. Too enraged to be in his presence anymore.

He didn't know what he'd been expecting, but it surely wasn't what happened.

Because instead of becoming furious or angry Rex just let his hand trail over Noah's discolored skin with the uttermost tenderness. The touch sent pleasant shivers down Noah's spine and his eyes flew open in rapture when he felt Rex's lips place tender kisses on the handprint shaped scar Van Kleiss had left after turning him into an Evo.

Noah looked down at his boyfriend's dark locks as the kisses continued and wondered how Rex could stand to touch him while he bore the mark of another man, Van Kleiss none the less. Rex was usually so territorial about him that the lingering gaze of another person usually caused Rex to cover his neck in quarter sized hickies.

If nothing else Noah expected Rex to never touch that part of him again. But Rex was just lavishing the scar with kisses and affection like he would die if he stopped.

When Rex finally pulled back after placing one last lingering kiss on the center of the palm print Noah was overwhelmed with questions.

The Evo didn't even give him a chance to ask one as he claimed Noah's lips with his own. When he finally gave Noah a chance to breath he answered the blonde's unspoken inquiry.

"Captain Callan had the same scar after Van Kleiss changed him so I knew this would happen as soon as you changed. But I was so worried I would never see your smile or hear your voice again that the thought of being jealous over some stupid scar seemed ridiculous. I love you Noah and I would rather you had a thousand scars like this then losing you to being an incurable Evo. You belong to me and Van Kleiss's mark isn't going to change that."

Noah was speechless at his boyfriend's admission and felt his eyes water slightly.

"Thank you Rex. You have no idea what that means to me. I love you too."

Rex smiled softly and leaned foreword to press his forehead to Noah's, letting his right hand come to rest on the scar under his shirt.

Van Kleiss might have left a mark on Noah's skin, but Rex didn't care.

He'd already left his mark on Noah's heart.

Sorry I haven't written much lately. I've been really tired the last few weeks. I also can't believe I'm the first one to write a fic mentioning a jealous Rex over Van Kleiss's mark on Noah. I don't know if the marks really do scar or not, but I liked the idea. Read and review! My goal is five reviews!

Yours truly,
