I love you guys.

Without any more goodbyes, here is the epilogue!

57. Epilogue

Edward wasn't here; it was the evening, just after Charlie had gotten home. I'd gotten him dinner, and now he sat downstairs, doing work. I sat in my room, bored as hell, having finished my homework. Edward usually didn't come until after when Charlie would fall asleep, and that time was becoming later and later with his work growing in quantity.

I was worried, Riley had already been taken, how long would it be before more people started coming missing? How long would it be until we had to fight a newborn army? I needed to stop it happening! I needed to find Victoria and kill her, stop her ruining the lives of so many.

I didn't know how to do it though. I could try and go in Seattle, try and use that weird part of my gift that led me to Edward, but I doubted it would work. I think it only worked with Edward because I knew him so well, knew his body, and my need for him was so great that it could find him. I'd only ever seen the real Victoria once, and the meeting hadn't been very long at all. I doubted I recognised her body enough to use that to track her.

What would I do if I found her anyway? Try and kill her? Me, a human, try to kill her, a vampire? Kill her with what, a gun? I could wave some fire at her, but I doubted it would have much effect, she'd just run from it, and if any caught her she'd just smother it so it could no longer burn.

I didn't have a chance on my own, and Edward wouldn't come with me, he'd refuse to let me go into harm's way long enough to find her or be bait.

Jacob couldn't come, or any of the wolves, they would be too conspicuous in Seattle; they mightn't even be able to fit in the alleys. Plus, they worked in a pack. One wolf, even a skilled fighter like Jacob, wouldn't be able to take down Victoria, she was too old and experienced, and she'd kill them all, especially if they had no room to move around in. The wolves' advantage was their speed, vampires were more agile, and in a small alley agility was the greater skill.

So who did that leave me? Jasper, I doubted, he could easily take down Victoria, but he wouldn't come with me on a whim of mine, he's too strategic. Emmett might, but he wouldn't keep from blabbing, or thinking about it, to Edward. Esme and Carlisle were too soft, they wouldn't be good fighters. Rosalie, well, she didn't really like me, not even letting me take away her thirst.

That left my best friend, Alice.

Alice was too smart for her own good, she'd ask me why I knew Victoria was in Seattle, and I couldn't think of a convincing excuse. I could always tell her the truth. What would she think of me though? What would she think of the intruder to their lives?

I wanted to know. I was tired of keeping this secret, I needed at least one person to blab to, and who better than Alice, the best at keeping secrets in the family. Yes, I would tell Alice, I would.

I rolled over in my bed, smiling. I would tell Alice tomorrow, after I'd gotten some sleep. My eyes fluttered closed, and I smiled, imagining what I would say. I must have been doing this a while, because soon I fell asleep.

I woke to the sound of the doorbell. I quickly sat up in my bed, still completely dressed, and looked at the clock. It was only 8, but that was still late for visitors.

I heard Charlie get up from downstairs, heard him answering to door. "Who is ... Alice? What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Hi Charlie, didn't Bella tell you I was coming over for a sleepover?" I heard her light happy voice from downstairs. I cocked my head to the side, sleepover? I'd heard nothing about a sleepover.

"No, she didn't," Charlie said, "I guess she must have forgotten. She's upstairs in her room. Do you need help carrying that?" he asked. I guessed she had a bag bigger than her, knowing Alice. She'd slept over before, bringing half a wardrobe – a wardrobe, not half of hers thank god – to change me in. Not that I didn't have fun, but at night, when I have school the next day, well, I start to get annoyed from the lack of sleep. Of course the teacher's give me detentions for yawning, wonderful people they are.

"No thank you Charlie," Alice said from closer, I guess half-way up the stairs. "I'm fine; it's just got some pillows and stuff. It's big, but it's light."

"Okay then," I heard Charlie's footsteps going back to the table.

Then my attention went to the pixie standing in my doorway. She dropped her bag to the floor, and closed the door behind her. When she turned her smile was gone, and she was glaring at me. "When were you going to tell me, Alexis?"

Okay, I won't bore you with any more good byes. I know I left it at a cliffy, and I'm sorry, but I won't be able to update for a couple of weeks. I'm going to the coast for Christmas/New Years where there is no internet, but I promise to write some of Looking through her eyes, but I can't promise heaps, I will be mostly writing my book. I hope to finish it before school starts again.

So guys, big hugs, big kisses, and I'll see you again in 2012!
