Chapter 26 - Her Mother's Daughter

'Gryffindor!' The hat shouted.

The room remained silent. Aubrey looked from her father, to her boyfriend and then to her Godparents.

'Congratulations!' Ron said first. 'Always knew you would be!' He said pulling her into a hug with the hat still upon her head.

Ron pulled back from Aubrey taking the hat off her head and letting Ginny and Harry hug their god-daughter.

'Congratulations.' Ginny said hugging her brown haired God-daughter. 'You're mum would be so proud.'

'Thank you.' Aubrey replied smiling.

'One of us.' Harry said smiling as he pulled her into a hug. 'Always knew you were.'

After being hugged by her Godparents, Aubrey turned to her father and boyfriend.

'Never dated a Gryffindor.' Draco said breaking the silence.

'First time for everything.' Aubrey said smiling.

Aubrey turned her attention to her father and looked at him.

Severus' lips turned up into a slight smile and he stepped towards his daughter drawing her into a hug.

'Congratulations.' Severus said as he placed a kiss on her head.

'Thank you.' She said smiling up at him. 'Sorry it's not Slytherin, the hat did contemplate it.'

'Of course it did. You have some Slytherin traits; you are after all my daughter as well.' Severus replied.

'Congratulations Miss Granger.' The Headmistress replied taking the Sorting Hat from Ron. 'You will be joining the 7th year Gryffindors as I believe you have turned 17 already due to the time turner.'

'Granger-Snape.' Severus corrected.

'Of course, my apologies Miss Granger-Snape.' She said correctly.

'Could I...could I remain in Dad's quarters instead of staying in the tower?' She asked.

'You don't want to stay in the tower?' Ginny asked.

'I want to stay with Dad...I think after Mum, I just want to be there.' She replied looking towards her God-parents.

'Maybe a private room in Gryffindor Minerva just encase Aubrey does want to spend some time in the tower once she has made friends and on the nights she wishes to be with...to be home then it won't be obvious.' Severus responded.

'Well, I think I may have a solution.' Minerva said as she walked around the desk opening the top draw. 'Miss Granger-Snape.' She began as she walked back around to them. 'I was going to give you this on your first day but I think this seems like a good time.'

Aubrey looked towards her father and then to her Godparents.

'Miss Granger-Snape, I would like to present you with the Head-Girl position. Once held by your mother, and your father was once the Head Boy in his time. After reading your transcripts and seeing your work I feel this is a deserving title.'

Harry squeezed Ginny's hand knowing Ginny was ready to sob.

'Are you sure?' Aubrey asked as she looked behind her to her Father and Draco who was smiling wildly at Aubrey.

'Absolutely.' Minerva said as she opened her hand to show the Head-Girl pin.

Aubrey took the pin from the Headmistress smiling brightly. 'Thank you.' She replied looking at the pin that once belonged to her mother. 'I hope to be as good as she was.'

Ginny let out a small sob and quickly covered her mouth. Harry put his arm around his wife trying to calm her.

'You'll be amazing.' Ron said as he smiled at his God-daughter. 'She would want you to beat her scores.'

'And Severus' ' Draco said smiling at his God-father.

'She beat some of your scores already.' Aubrey said smiling up at her Father.

'Some, not all.' He drawled.

'You will have your own room in the Head's quarters and we can set up the floo in your private bedroom to go straight to your Father's quarters should you so wish to stay there.' Minerva said.

'That would work.' Aubrey replied smiling. 'Thank you Headmistress.'

'You're welcome.' She said smiling at the young girl.

The group walked out of the Headmistresses office. Ginny clinging on to her God-daughter and kissing her head repeatedly.

'Gin, leave the poor girl alone.' Ron said pulling his younger sister from Aubrey.

'I can't help it. I'm so proud.' Ginny said smiling at Aubrey. 'We can celebrate at the weekend at the BBQ. You are coming aren't you?'

'Of course.' Aubrey said smiling. 'We'll all be there.'

'Good.' Ginny said smiling at Aubrey and looking at Draco and Severus who were both looking at each other. 'You'll be joining the family Quidditch match Ma...Draco? Ginny asked.

'Of course he will Gin.' Ron said smirking.

'Sure Weasley.' Draco said looking at Ron. 'Been a while since I've played but I'm sure I can still beat you.'

'We'll see about that.' Ron said smiling.
