I laid on the couch as mom walked in.
"Lawrence Finnigan you need to get out of this house RIGHT NOW!"
"Mom, I'm exhausted. We've been trying to figure out who took Mickey Mouse for the past few weeks. I haven't gotten a good night sleep in what feels like years."
She sighed. "Finn, go hang out with your friends, it's summer. What's Amanda doing?"
I felt my cheeks flush at the mention of my girlfriend's name.
"I don't know, probably tired."
"Well go be tired together! Come on! You don't want to lose your first girlfriend."
I sat up. "Mom, I was legitimately with her 30 minutes ago."
"Don't you ever hang out with your friends or go out with your girlfriend on a normal date?"
I thought back. "We've gone to get ice cream and I've walked her home."
She opened the door. "This is good for you, GO OUT!"
I stood up and walked out the door.
I dialed Amanda's number.
"Hey." She said in her mesmerizing voice.
"Hi." I answered somewhat shyly.
"What's up?"
"Eh… want to hang out?"
"Are we going to try and track down where Mickey is?"
"I was thinking more along the lines of normality."
She chuckled. "Alright, Finn, but what about our lives has been normal?"
"Us?"
"Our first kiss sent me into an utter shock and made me fall dead looking on the floor."
"It was just that good." I smirked
"Sure..." She muttered and I pouted.
"Well our second kiss was nice, wasn't it?"
"Yeah, I initiated that one, therefore it ended up nicely."
"I remember."
"How about we do the typical movie date type of thing?"
"Okay." Was all she said and yet it made me happier than anything else in the world.
"See you in a bit?"
"Sure thing"
We met at the movies.
"Hey!" she had the prettiest smile I've seen in my entire life. Her long golden locks were drifted smoothly down her shoulders.
I'd finally grown taller than her. It was such a relief.
"Hey you." I said grinning.
He took my hand and I scowled.
"What?" she asked alarmed.
"I'm supposed to take your hand. I'm the boyfriend!"
"How sexist!"
"No it's more traditional…" I countered and she sighed and let go of my hand.
I took it in mine again. "That's better."
We both laughed and walked up to the counter.
"What do you want to see?"
"Let's see Scream 4." I really wanted an excuse to put my arm around her.
She shrugged. "I thought you were afraid of ghosts and stuff."
"Nah… once you face the OT a few times you eventually become immune to ghouls."
"Some people do… You don't."
I chuckled. "I'm not scared!"
She rolled her eyes. "Okay…"
We walked into the theater and once we got in there I knew she was right.
Amanda was perfectly calm through out the entire film and I was really freaking out on the inside.
When the movie ended and the lights came back on, I was trying not to look horror struck.
I took her hand and she looked up at me.
"Finn…are you okay?"
"Obviously I'm okay!" I said my voice squeaking.
She turned to me with a grin on her face.
"Come here." She said and hugged me tightly.
I forgot my pride and hugged her back equally as tightly.
"I'm supposed to be the brave one."
"And you are!" she said.
"How? I'm terrified of roller coasters, horror movies, and the dark."
"Finn, you've stood up and fought to the most vicious creatures known to man… well known to the KK. Why do you think everyone looks to you for help? You're our leader, our brave, strong, modest hero. And my boyfriend."
I blushed and smiled widely. "So maybe we aren't normal like my mom said, but I like things the way they are… as long as I've got you."
She laughed. "Come on, you can walk me home."
"Wanna grab ice cream on the way."
She pecked my lips lightly. "Sure."
We walked down the street, laughing, giggling, hand in hand, just like any other OT fighting couple.
