Freedom

AN: Well, I WANTED to have something up yesterday for Independence Day, but frankly, I was so tired and I couldn't write. So... this is my attempt at writing something for the 4th of July.

Thank you to any veterans that may ever read this, and thanks to those who are currently serving our country. Thank you to the military families who have fathers, mothers, brothers, sister, etc. who are serving our country, and thank you for your willingness to let them do so.

God bless America! :]

Disclaimer: I don't own PJO.

(Try and figure out who the girl is!)

She stares out up at the sky, where fireworks once again light up the skies of Camp Half-Blood—or at least that's what it used to be called. Half-Blood Legion Training Camp was the new name for Camp Half-Blood, but of course, no one really knew what the name had previously been.

500 years, she thinks wryly. The skies light up with names of fallen heroes from the Second Titan War: Charles Beckendorf, Michael Yew, Silena Beauregard, and so many more. Nearly 500 years since the Second Titan War.

She almost laughs at how the freedom is taken for granted by the demigods. They don't know how well they have it. Not having to fight for your lives every single day; not knowing whether their numbers would be enough; not knowing if the final end of the gods would come or not. Oh yes, this generation has it way better than her generation did.

No one really pays attention anymore; Percy Jackson is just a name from history. Just another demigod hero from a myth, long, long ago. All the lives that were lost over fighting Kronos or even from fighting Gaea would be forgotten, if not for the fireworks every 4th of July.

They don't know all the sacrifices that were made so they could be safe at camp. They don't know all the sacrifices that were made so the world would be saved. It's all just a legend, a myth to them.

Andthat really pisses her off.

She makes a decision to talk to Chiron about it. The kids need to know about the price of freedom, of the lives that were lost. The heroes deserve to recognized for their fighting; after all, most demigods from her generation fought in not one, but two wars.

They'll learn of Percy Jackson and his quests; of Jason Grace and his Argonauts; of the Architect of Olympus—Annabeth Chase; of the mediator between Greece and Rome, one of the ones who made the Half-Blood Legion Training Camp possible; of all the demigod heroes who lived and died for Olympus.

And who better than her to tell them?

AN: I'm putting the main character as Percy Jackson, who isn't really the main character. Try and guess who the girl is. :]
