*swoops in and bows apologetically* I know, I know, I shouldn't be doing yet ANOTHER fanfic. But this one takes the cake in terms of ambition. This piece, however, is just the backstory. I'll explain more at the end.

Hinata of Thedas: Prelude

The Kyuubi was caught, and it knew it. It could already feel the pull of the Shinigami, pulling it towards that thrice-damned monkey on top of that toad. Snarling, it did its level best to fight back, but its struggles were pointless. Even it couldn't fight of the God of Death.

Still, it wasn't going to go quietly. Summoning one last ounce of its power, it fired a beam past the toad, heading for the city that lay beyond it. The monkey cursed, and the Kyuubi felt the Shinigami yank it towards the toad...then it knew nothing more.

The beam the Kyuubi had fired was small and narrow, zigzagging all over the place. People scrambled out of its way, before it detonated over a large estate. The detonation caused a tear in reality to form, as well as a vortex that began drawing in everything nearby. The people in the estate latched on to buildings, trees, and anything else that was available.

One person, however, lost her grip, and was pulled into the rift. It closed moments later.

A few minutes later, a man rushed out of the main house. He looked around desperately.

"Where is my wife and child?" Hyuuga Hiashi asked. When his clansmen told him of their fate, the proud Hyuuga head fell to his knees and wept openly, disregarding protocol completely. With no heir, and no wife to produce another, he'd need to name someone else. But that would come later. For now, he cared for nothing else but his grief.

A/N: And that's the entire backstory! Really. And now comes the interesting part of this whole thing. I'm going to put up a poll on my profile page, asking which Warden Hinata will follow first.

What I mean by that is that I intend to, eventually, show how all six Warden's lives would be affected by Hinata's presence. And yes, Hinata will become a Warden in all of the stories.

I'm going to give the poll two weeks. In that time, I'll be writing the first chapters of every Origin story. For those who don't know, the Origins are Dalish Elf, City Elf, Dwarf Commoner, Dwarf Noble, Human Noble, and Magi (shared Origin between Human and Elf). The elves and the Dwarf Commoner are all Rogues (Dalish is archer-focused, the other two prefer dual-weapons), the Nobles are warriors (Dwarf is two-handed specialist, Human is sword-and-shield). The Magi...is self-explanatory.

NOTE: This is not how they truly are in-game, but this is how I percieve them, owing to their respective backgrounds. Hinata herself is her own class. If I had to call it anything, I'd call her a Monk, from DnD.
