...

"So you learned the tango just to impress her?" Bulma asked, her aqua eyebrows raised.

"Yes," Turles smirked. "Esperanza was more than delighted. And I earned a little extra credit in Spanish class by doing a demonstration with her. Why have business before pleasure when you could combine them?"

Bulma reached out to slap the dark-skinned Saiyan, but Turles had already ducked.

"You're almost as bad as Raditz!" she fumed.

"Speaking of Raditz," Chi-Chi frowned. "He always does something big for Valentine's Day. In freshman year, he baked cupcakes for every girl in the grade. Then in sophomore year, he gave every girl a box of chocolate-dipped strawberries. And then last year, he handed out bouquets of roses to every girl. This year he hasn't so much as handed out a single card, let alone any flowers."

...

Meanwhile, Raditz had just made it to the front office with Broly in tow. His plan depended entirely on Broly being able to act as a distraction.

The long-haired Saiyan slipped into the room with the P.A. System and nodded to Broly, who nodded in reply before taking his place in front of the door.

"Attention, ladies of the senior class," Raditz began. "You all know me and you all certainly know today is Valentine's Day and before you get disappointed, don't worry, I didn't forget. This year, I have a special surprise for each and every one of you lovely ladies"

"Young man, this is a great misuse of school equipment!" the strict secretary of the office shrieked. "Broly, get out of my way!"

"Sorry, Ms. Carson," Broly apologized. "I need to tie my shoes before I move. Safety first you know. Wouldn't want a student entrusted to your care falling victim to an easily avoidable injury, right?"

"Broly, I have no intention of playing games with you!" Ms. Carson snapped in exasperation. "Now move!"

"You would willingly endanger a student?" Broly shook his head and placed a hand over his heart "Madam, I am shocked."

"Broly, enough with the theatrics," the angry secretary was becoming livid.

"During lunch or any free period, feel free to stop by the gym and pick up your Valentine's gifts. That is all," Raditz finished.

"Oh, would you look at that," Broly looked down at his boots. "These shoes don't even have laces. Well, crisis averted. Later, Ms. Carson."

"YOU'RE BOTH GETTING DETENTION!"

Raditz hurried over and within moments, the screeching secretary was happily sniffing a rose and snacking on a piece of chocolate from the brightly-colored, heart-shaped box before the giving the boys a dismissive wave.

"Problem solved," he smirked to a dumbfounded Broly.

Bulma sighed. English class was going slowly compared to most days. Perhaps their teacher's suggestion for them to write poetry in the spirit of Valentine's Day had a lot to do with it.

"Baldy's been staring at you all class period," Lilikoi smirked at 18.

The blonde glared at her friend, but before she could say a word, Krillin stood up, walked over to her desk and knelt before it.

"What is he-?"

18 never had the chance to finish her question, for at that moment, Krillin began to sing loudly and very off-key.

"If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreak, if you're gonna be somebody's mistake"

"This is not happening," she said as the bald former monk continued.

"If you're gonna be somebody's first time, somebody's last time, baby be mine!"

Several girls, while cringing at Krillin's awful singing, cooed softly in spite of it.

"That is so sweet!" Maron squealed.

"If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreaaaaaaaaak!" Krillin's voice cracked.

"Keep singing and your heart won't be the only thing that gets broken," 17 warned him, his ice blue eyes narrowed.

Krillin yelped and hurried back to his seat.

"Leave him alone," 18 snapped at her brother before smiling slightly at Krillin. "It was kind of sweet."

Krillin grinned stupidly.

"Really?"

18's smile then disappeared just as quickly as it had come.

"NEVER do it again," she warned. "EVER."

Krillin nodded hastily.

"Alright, ladies!" Raditz shouted through a megaphone. "Form a neat and orderly line! No pushing or shoving, not a single lovely lady will be left out!"

A trio of cheerleaders all raced toward the line that was already forming at the front of the gym, each one determined to get their first.

"Why does this not surprise me?" Chi-Chi sighed as she and Bulma neared the building.

"I guess he figured this was the last year he could do something like this," Bulma shook her head and rolled her eyes. "It's senior year, the last time he can put on a spectacle."

"I thought he put on enough of a spectacle when he accepted seven different girls' invitations to the Valentine's Day Dance!" Chi-Chi huffed.

"Hey, he bought all of them a corsage and he danced with each one," 17 shrugged as he joined the pair. "You gotta give him props for that."

"Oh, be quiet!" Chi-Chi snapped. "Even Turles hasn't pulled a stunt like this. At least one of those two can at least pretend to behave like a gentleman."

"Of course seven girls," Bulma sighed. "How else was he supposed to top bringing the twins to my party?"

"He's a jerk, but he's my hero," Krillin piped up.

At this, 17 turned and glowered down at the shorter teen.

"Speaking of Valentine's Day plans, what sort of evening will you be treating my sister to tonight, Baldy?"

"Um...well...I.." Krillin stammered. "I was thinking of taking her to Le Petite Fromage."

For a moment, 17 said nothing, but then the brunette twin suddenly burst into laughter.

"I wait tables there on the weekends," he sneered. "And I know all you could afford in there is a petite fromage."

Krillin tried to hide his face, which was now growing an even deeper shade of red.

...

"Happy Valentine's Day, Chi-Chi," Raditz grinned as he handed Chi-Chi three long-stemmed roses wrapped together with a red ribbon and a heart-shaped box of chocolates.

"Well...thank you," Chi-Chi managed to speak before moving along so the next girl could get her flowers and chocolates.

"At least someone bothered to remember you," Turles said with a smirk.

"I'm sure Goku got me something," Chi-Chi insisted, tossing her ponytail indignantly as they exited the gym and made their way to the pavilion for lunch.

At that moment, she saw Goku at their usual table. And sitting on the table was a large, bright red, heart-shaped box decorated with a gold ribbon. Her eyes lit up with delight.

"I knew it!" the Ox-Princess squealed before smirking at Turles. "You see? He didn't forget me."

"Infatuation is so sad," the dark-skinned Saiyan sighed and shook his head. "And just think, you could do better."

"Like you?" Chi-Chi sneered.

"I said better, not beyond your reach," Turles replied coolly, just managing to dodge the punch aimed at his jaw.

"Oh, Goku!" Chi-Chi chirped as she ran over to join her boyfriend. "I knew you wouldn't forget me this time."

Goku smiled nervously.

"Of course not," the Earth-raised Saiyan placed a hand behind his head in his trademark fashion.

Before he could say another word, Chi-Chi opened the box and immediately her smile faded.

"This box is empty."

Goku chuckled uneasily as he hid his fingers from view. This did not go unnoticed by his less than amused girlfriend.

"Show me your hands, Goku," Chi-Chi ordered in a tone that commanded no refusal.

The younger son of Bardock slowly held his hands up. All of his fingers and even the palms of his hands covered in chocolate brown smears.

"At least you still have the box," he spoke quickly. "It's nice..."

...

"And the winning ticker for a romantic dinner for two at Le Cherie is...72487421!"

Everyone frantically looked at the tickets in their hands.

"Goku, you won! That's your ticket number!" Chi-Chi cried, staring at Goku's ticket.

"Huh?" Goku looked down before holding up the ticket. "Hey! I did win! That's my number!"

"This is perfect!" Chi-Chi sighed dreamily as she hugged her boyfriend. "A nice romantic dinner, just the two of us..."

"Hey!" Goku called up to the announcer. "Do I really have to bring another person?"

"GOOOOOOOOKUUUU!"

...

...

I hope everyone enjoyed that. The next chapter will be out on Saturday, February 24th. Until then, everyone.

And one last time, Happy Valentine's Day.
