I know it's a bit short. Sorry for that! Reviews are appreciated. Bruce may come across as a bit OOC.
He walked towards us. I gave him a small, nervous smile. He smiled back a large charming smile, which made my knees go weak.
"Um, Mr. Wayne, these are for you. Mr. Fox told me deliver these," I was surprised I could string two words to say. His hazel eyes gave off such an intense, but alluring gaze.
"Alright. Thank you," he smiled again as I handed the envelopes to him. his voice had a sensual, warming quality to it. Then he looked at me like he was trying to figure out something, "Chasity Hillgrose, right?"
I mentally froze. How did he know my name? Not that I minded though. I always had a vendetta against my name, but when coming out of his mouth, it sounded like a beautiful melody.
"Yes, sir," I responded.
"May I talk to you in my office?" He asked politely. I could only nod in response. He led the way to his office and opened the door for me. The office was beautiful with a rich mahogany desk with matching chair near the windows. A bookshelf sat in a corner, its shelves filled with various books. Padded, comfortable looking chairs were in front of the desk. He gestured for me to sit in a chair front of his desk.
"May I get you anything? Tea? Coffee?" he offered as he shut the door behind him. All of this happening was so surreal to me, I just picked tea. He walked over to his desk and picked up the phone. It was ringing for a few seconds until Lillian picked up on the other end.
"Yes, Mr. Wayne? How can I help you?" Lillian's sickly sweet voice filled the room. She probably wanted to help him in so many ways, if you get what I mean.
"Ah, yes, Lillian. Can you get me and Ms. Hillgrose tea, please?" he requested. Oh, I wish I could have seen her face. That would be a total Kodak moment.
Instead of taking the seat behind the desk, Mr. Wayne took the chair beside me, with only a small table between us. I could smell his cologne faintly.
"So, Ms. Hillgrose, Mr. Fox has told me about your hard work," Mr. Wayne said. I was astonished. there were so many messengers; it was hard to get acknowledged by any of the workers. But to be recognized by Mr. Wayne himself is a really rare occurrence. Oh, yes, I was so excited.
Before he could say anything else, the door to his office opened. In walked Lillian, carrying a tray with two tea cups and containers of sugar and honey. Her face was twisted in annoyance to my presence, but hidden behind a fake, flashy smile. She sat down the tray on the small table.
"Anything else you need, Mr. Wayne?" she asked eagerly.
"No, thank you," he responded. Over his shoulder, she glared at me before leaving.
While fixing the tea and handing me a cup, "So I was thinking, how would you like to be my secretary?"
I almost choked on my tea. "But, b-but," I stuttered, like a little child being caught doing something wrong, "What about Lillian?"
He chuckled at my startled expression, "She has had her hands full lately."
"Um..well," I said, as my mind ran through all the pros and cons of his offer. "Yes."
He flashed another knee-weakening smile and held out his hand. I shook it, noticing how large and warm his hands were, but somewhat surprisingly rough.
"T-thank you, Mr. Wayne," I abruptly stood up and nervously left the office, leaving a smirking Bruce Wayne behind.
