A/N: Holmes/Adler is my favorite fandom. I could try and say that it isn't but I just love these two. Holmes is somewhat alert and shy and Irene is definitely the more laid back of the two. I wish they'd get married because they're so cute together. I was inspired for this little masterpiece when I was watching Matlock- (You know that old detective show with Andy Griffith? Yes I still watch that and don't judge me.) -and he was forced to go down to the piggy station at two a'clock to help bail out his friend and he wasn't angry or grumpy, he was just so ruffled, tired, adorable and sweet that I was awwwing (especially when he said "Can I please have a glass of water?" and looked all sleepily at his friend-how cute is that?) and I knew I just had to write my own version for my sweet guy. I hope you like a sleepy Holmes!

Holmes sat on one of the three hard wooden chairs that inhabit Inspector Lestrade's office. It was 3:00 in the morning, and the sky was barely light yet. He sighed and rubbed his face, only barely aware of what was going on.

Tonight had been the first night in two weeks where he had sought to get some proper rest, and by coincidence it also ended up as the night that Irene Adler needed Holmes to bail her out of jail.

He didn't know why he let that damned woman take advantage of him on so many occasions, but at least this time he could blame it on exhaustion. He couldn't say he noticed when the door opened and Lestrade seated himself behind his desk. Lestrade let out a heavy sigh, his exhaustion also heavily evident.

"I'm sorry to knock you up at such an hour Holmes, but Miss Adler demanded you be the one to bail her out."

Holmes just sighed in response, giving Lestrade a tired look with one brown eye while his other was covered with his hand. "How much…?"

"Fifty-pounds,"

Holmes handed over the money to Lestrade and sleepily followed Clarky to the jail yard. Irene walked out, dainty and beautiful as ever, and Holmes had to admit she knew how to hold herself together, even at obscene hours of the morning.

"Thank you Sherlock!" She crooned, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him a charming grin-and a kiss on the lips. The detective just gave her a dazed and tired look before shaking his head and walking away-his mind on his bed and a well deserved sleep.

Irene followed him. He ignored her at first, he really tried to, but when she wanted something-she usually got what she wanted. Holmes sighed yet again when she followed him into the apartment. Tonight just wasn't his night.

She was gone again when the detective awoke, but he wasn't surprised. This wasn't the first time Irene Adler had hurt him, and he doubted it'd be the last.

Please review and tell me what you think! I approve of constructive criticism, no hate mail just because you don't like Sherlock Holmes or Holmes/Adler. Thank you :D!
