Chapter 5
Pyramid Head stood there about a foot away from me. An overwhelming flood of emotions washed over me. Happiness. Sadness. Fear. Love. All in a melting pot of emotions ready to bust out. I stood there just trying to maintain my composer while staring at Pyramid Head, unsure about what to do. I waited for so long to see him again but not under these circumstances. He doesn't look the same at all. Aside from him not wearing his infamous helmet, his face was wrapped in dirty, bloodstained bandages. All his facial features were hidden beneath the bandages. I couldn't imagine the damages the helmet must have left after he freed himself from it. The agonizing pain he must have skin was always pale but now it is very close to translucent. I could see all his veins that run through his body. Gone his once athletic and toned body, and now has transformed into an abnormally thin weaker version of itself. My mind was racing: Was me leaving the source of his current physical and perhaps mental state? I wish I never left. I wish I put up a fight and stayed. I wish…
"PH, where the hell have you been?!" Butcher said breaking the silent. "What the hell did you do to yourself"
I looked at him waiting for him to answer or say something. He was silent. Even though his entire face was covered in bandages, I could not help but feel his eyes glued to me. He dropped the spear that he was holding. He slowly walked towards me. In one swift motion, he grabbed my arm and pulled me into a tight he was holding me, I felt tears forming in the corners of my eyes. I returned the embrace. We stood there in a long waited embrace, soaking each other's emotion and energy. "I missed you" Pyramid Head whispered weakly.
"Easy there, PH. I don't think Lilly's fiancé would be too happy about this." Butcher said, interrupting our moment.
"Fiance?" Pyramid Head let go of me and took a step back from me. He stared at me waiting for me to explain.
"I'm getting married in two weeks", I raised my hand to show him my ring. "I wanted to come back here to see you before I get married. I wanted to see you one last time"
"Lilly, I'm sorry" Pyramid Head whispered
"For what?"
"For this"
"I don't under- " Pyramid Head picked me up by the throat with one hand and started to put pressure on my neck. "Pyramid Head, please stop" I gasped for air.
"PH! What the hell are you doing?!" Butcher ran to Pyramid Head's side and grabbed his arm. With his opposite arm, Pyramid Head threw Butcher to the ground. Butcher hit the ground hard and he wasn't moving.
Tears were falling down my cheeks. I felt my body going numb and my vision getting darker. With the little energy and air, I had left, I spoke: "Why are you doing this ?"
"Because I'm not who you think I am" he whispered. His eyes were glowing red and shining through his bandages.
I close my eyes and fell into unconsciousness.
"Where the hell is he?" I whispered to myself. I looked at my phone to see the time. It was 7:47 pm. I opened my message inbox and looked at the last message Sean sent me:
Hey, princess Meet me at Amore at 7:30 pm. I know I been working the night shift the last couple of days and I wanted to make it up to you with a romantic Italian dinner.
I close my phone and took another sip of water. I was already seated and was ready to order food but I decided to wait for Sean. If Sean takes any longer, I will have dinner without him. I was pretty happy seeing the text from him when I got out of work. Sean wasn't the type to be so spontaneous. I went home to take a shower and make myself more presentable since Amore is a very fancy expensive restaurant. When I got home, I was surprised by a beautiful red dress that laid on my bed with a note:
Red always bring out the color of your beautiful eyes - Sean.
It was a long form-fitting red dress with a plunged neckline and slits on each side of the dress. I put on the dress on and it fit me perfectly. Sean definitely knew what looks good on me. I went to the bathroom but on makeup and put my hair up in an elegant bun. Once I was done I took the first cab to the restaurant. And now I'm still waiting. I looked at my phone again. It was 8 o'clock exactly. That's it! I'm leaving. I got up and grabbed my purse before I had the chance to walk to the exit, I see Sean speed walking toward the table I was at. He had a bouquet of red tulips and was in a suit. I had to admit he knew how to clean up nice. His black hair was slicked back, his face was freshly shaved and his brown eyes light up when he saw me. Sean always turned heads with his model-like appearance and fit body. "I'm sorry, princess. The traffic was ridiculous but I'm here." He gave me the flowers and kiss my cheek. "You look amazing." We both sat back down at our table.
"Thanks for the flower. I appreciate it. Anyway, we should order. I'm starving" I said.
"Okay, princess." He motion the waiter to come over and we ordered. I order seafood ravioli and Sean ordered spinach ravioli as well as a bottle of white wine for us to drink. The food came at a reasonable speed. Sean and I sat there in silent while we eat our food. I looked at Sean. He looked off tonight like he had something on his mind. Sean is very easy to read since he wears all of his emotion on his sleeve. Also, he is very talkative and never shuts up, so us having a quiet dinner is weird in itself. I decided to break the silent.
"Sean, what is wrong? First this spontaneous dinner and now you haven't spoken a word this entire dinner."
"Lilly," he took a deep breath "I love you. I love you with all my heart. I love the way you smile and smell. I love the fact that you are not a morning person. I love how beautiful you look when you just wake up. Even when you have dry drool on your face. You took me about your past and I want to be your future. This year and a half have been the best time of my life. Lilly, you are my soulmate and I have been waiting for you since forever." He got up from his chair and kneeled down on one knee in front of me. He pulled out a ring from his pants pocket. "Princess, would you be my queen and marry me?"
I looked at him with thoughts filling my head. I don't love Sean. I do care from him and he is a wonderful man with a big heart. He took care of me when Pyramid Head couldn't. He loved me when Pyramid Head couldn't. He fulfilled what Pyramid lacked. But I don't love him.
"Yes," I said with a smile.
But I don't want to be alone.
A/n: Hey guy. It's been awhile, I know. So I decided to just continue the story even though a lot of people didn't vote for the poll for me to finish the story. I realized that it's unfair for the small group of people who actually want me to finish the story. A little sidenote, I decided to add scene between Sean and Lilly. I feel like I haven't gotten to give you, the readers, some background of their relationship. So at the end of every chapter, I going to write a short memory or event or story about Sean and Lilly before she went to find PH again. If you guys like the idea let me know or if you don't really care for it definitely let me know and I'll stop. I hope you enjoyed the chapter and I will update again soon.
