Chapter 8: The New Hire and Client

Naruto's P.O.V.

I'm washing my face in the bathroom when my clone poofs and I gasp when his memories flood my mind. I stare at my reflection, frowning, as I try to figure out what the hell got into Sasuke. I let out a breath and turn off the water.

The bedroom is starting to get dark, so I walk to the night table and switch on the lamp. The sudden light blinds me for a moment then I blink and see a familiar sight. The book I had paid little attention to earlier is in fact the same book Kakashi-sensei gave me. My face is warm as I remember some of the pages. Maybe I should take another look? You know, for review.

Slipping off my shoes, I get comfortable on the bed, leaning against the headboard. I slide the book closer to the edge of the table. Then I slowly pick it up and lay it in my lap. It takes me a little longer to actually open the book. Why is this so much harder the second time? With my breath held, I flip the cover and suddenly I'm looking at the index. This is actually a bit easier now. I start flipping through the pages, browsing through some of my favorites, my legs crossing as I sit up in interest.

My brow is furrowed as I stare at a particularly complex position when I hear a hum. Eyes wide, my head snaps up at the sound. Haro is leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed and a glint in his eye. I swallow and close the book slowly. "You should've knocked."

Haro laughs and closes the door behind him as he steps into the room. "I did. You didn't anwer so I let myself in."

My face is hot as I turn my head away from him. I must've been really focusing on the stupid book. The man walks closer to the bed. "I didn't mean to interrupt your research. I just wanted to make sure you haven't changed your mind about being a Son, but seeing you so interested..."

Hunching my shoulders, still not looking at Haro as my face darkens, I pout. "I was just curious."

Haro laughs again and sits on the edge of the bed, taking the book off my lap. "Curiousity killed the cat, Naruto."

Turning my head to look at Haro, I continue to pout. He boops my nose and grins when I wiggle it right afterwards. "Was there anything else you wanted?"

As he stands up, Haro smooths his pants. "Actually, there is. Since you're new, I thought you might want to meet the other Sons. There are nine others."

Finally! I can get some information for the mission! And not be tempted by the dumb book sitting teasingly on the night table. I swear it's mocking me! I let out a short breath through my nose and nod as I uncross my legs and stand up, stretching. Haro puts an arm around my shoulders and starts pulling me along. "Great! The last customer should be leaving soon and we usually spend dinner together right after we close. I brought your food earlier, but if you're still hungry, you're welcome to more."

Closing the door behind us while still holding me in place is a skill I can't help admire in Haro. The door beside us opens and another redhead walks out. He sees Haro, then his face brightens when his eyes drift down to me. I flinch a little when he is suddenly in my face and his yellow eyes are staring at me. "Hello. I haven't seen you before. I'm Fudo. What is your name?"

Haro uses the arm still slung around my shoulders to pull me away from Fudo's face. "Fudo, careful. He's a Son starting tonight."

The two yellow orbs widen as Fudo straightens his back and looks me up and down, making me nervous. His mouth quirks into a smirk and nods. "He'll get popular. I can tell."

Without another word, he leaves. I watch him then look up at Haro, hoping he'd explain, but he just smiles too and pulls me down the hallway and to the right, back into the bar. The music is turned way down now, barely a murmur. The door is closed and a blue-haired man is locking it. Haro uses his free arm to pull out one of three chairs to a round table I didn't even notice when I first came in, and uses his other to push me into it. I sit down and glance around the room, seeing what I can gather that's useful. How the heck did I miss all these tables!

Sitting at one table is an orange-haired boy, Fudo, and a green-haired boy chatting cheerily. At another table sits a white-haired boy and a pink-haired man, the pink-haired man talking to the other, who doesn't seem to be paying attention. The blue-haired man finishes with the door and sits at their table. A brunet man interrupts my observations by pulling out a chair at the table I'm sitting at and smiling at me. Soon a purple-haired boy sits with us. "Hi. You must be new. I hope you're settling in well," the brunet says.

His words bring about a sudden, intense, and really uncomfortable silence, then I'm being surrounded by everyone. Haro laughs and shoos the Sons. "Calm down everyone. First of all, where is Koichi?"

The brunet shakes his head. "His last client took his time leaving so Koichi is still cleaning up."

As the sentence was being said, a raven-haired man walks in from the back. "I'm here. Now what's for supper?"

The orange-haired boy laughs and bounces to the man. "We can't eat yet! Haro found a new boy!"

The raven's orange eyes meet my blue and I shiver. It reminds me of Sasuke's piercing glare when I first met him in the academy. Cold. I return the look, making the raven roll his eyes and break eye contact. Haro claps his hands. "Okay then! Let's introduce everyone, what do you say? Everyone, this is Naruto. He's a virgin and really adorable. You'll see soon enough." My face turns a deep red as my eyes widen and I stare at the smiling redhead. Why the HELL did he tell everyone! Haro laughs and ruffles my hair, making me frown. "What did I tell you? Cute!"

I put my hands up to protect my head and Haro stops, still smiling. The orange-haired boy bounces. "Hi! I'm Ryuu!"

The green-haired boy bounces over as well and bumps Ryuu out of the way. "And I'm Mikio!"

Fudo pulls the two hyper boys out of my face and winks at me. "We met in the hall."

Standing up and holding his hand out for a shake, the pink-haired man gives a closed-eye smile. "Hi Naruto! I'm Botan."

I shake his hand then he's pushed out of the way by the blue-haired man. He nods to me as he pushes Botan away. "Hitoshi."

Behind Hitoshi, I see the white-haired boy still seated at the table. "My name is Yuki."

Feeling a gaze on me, I turn to the seat to my left and see the purple-haired boy staring with his red eyes. "Hmm, Tama," he sighs.

A sigh. I glance behind me. The raven-haired man is huffing and making his annoyance clear. "Are we seriously putting off eating to introduce ourselves to a kid that probably won't even last a week?"

I frown at the man. Haro sighs and puts and arm around his shoulders, pulling him into a corner to talk, keeping his voice soft and quiet. I hear a gentle throat clearing and turn to my right. The brunet's green eyes are warm. "That's Koichi. He's always like that and he's just worried because he's the popular one right now, but you're pretty cute so he's threatened." I try to shake my head, but he stops me by shaking his own head. "Don't deny it. Anyway, my name is Ringo. If you need any help or just want to talk, I'll be here."

Nodding, I smile back. His aura is calming and helps me to release some of the tension I didn't realize I was holding. Haro comes back and recruits a few of the Sons to help him warm supper. Then everyone sits down and starts eating, talking to each other between bites. I small talk with Ringo and Tama then we all head back into the hallway to go to our respective rooms. When I close my door, a yawn is on my lips. I fall face first into the bed and fall asleep instantly.

Sasuke's P.O.V.

I go to bed soon after NarutoClone's visit, knowing my mood would only get worse. It feels like I have a boulder in my stomach as I lie down and force myself to sleep. It's dawn when I wake up, but Kakashi and Sakura are both already gone. I drag myself to the bathroom and take a quick shower as I focus on breathing techniques. I need to be calm. This is a mission. Don't let your personal feelings get in the way. Hell! You're an Uchiha! Don't be such a girl, Sasuke.

When I walk back into the room, drying my hair, Sakura is setting an armful of bags down. The sun has come up now and is lighting up the room. Sakura's cheeks pinken when she turns to see me. I pretend not to notice as I stare at the bags. That's a LOT more bags than needed. Sakura clears her throat and starts rummaging through the closest bag to her. "I didn't know which one you would like so I bought all of them. I hope you like them," she says clearly, though she refuses to look at me.

I close my eyes. No. I will NOT apologize! I hear the bag shuffling and I open my eyes, resigned. Fine. I let the towel settle around my neck as I look at the pinkette. "Sakura."

Her head pops up, eyes hopeful as she looks at me. "Yes Sasuke?"

"I'm sorry I snapped at you last night."

"That's okay. I understand how weird this mission must be for you, having to pretend to be gay and all."

I knew it. This is why I don't talk to you Sakura. "Mhm," I hum as I walk over to the bag Sakura keeps digging in. "So what will I be wearing?" Sakura jumps and seems to fidget. I roll my eyes. "What?"

"Are you sure you don't want to pick it out yourself? You want to wear something I pick out?"

I stare at the girl. She stares back, slowly getting unnerved the longer it lasts. She finally breaks the stare and starts picking things out of each of the bags. Kakashi walks into the room then with a few bags of his own and a very tired blond following him in. "Look what I found outside."

Sakura frowns at the blond and turns back to me to tell me about the outfit she's picked out for me. I don't hear her, my whole attention on Naruto and how he's basically asleep on his feet. "Well Dobe? Learn anything?"

Naruto cracks open an eye and his eye is dark and unfocused. My throat dries, partly in lust, partly in jealously. Who the hell kept my blond up all night? "Hmm? Oh. They ate steak strips for supper."

Kakashi shakes his head in amusement while Sakura huffs and hits Naruto on his shoulder to wake him up. "What will we be able to do with their eating habits? Who's the owner? Workers? How much do you get paid? That kind of thing?"

Shouting in surprise, Naruto yawns and stretches, finally waking up. "Well, the owner's name is Haro. He says they don't use last names. The workers are called Neon Sons, with an 'O'. Including me, there are ten Sons. The rooms are in the back hallway past two chakra-using guards."

Using the towel still around my neck, I looks at Naruto. "Anything else?"

He nods. "Yep. They had that book of sex positions in the room, so I didn't need to know any of that stuff to get hired." The blond looks at Kakashi accusedly.

Kakashi clears his throat in embarrassment and waves it off.

"What about the money part?" Sakura questions.

"We haven't talked about payment yet, but Haro did mention that Sons keep 100% of the money they make and don't need to pay rent."

Sakura hums in thought. Kakashi sets down his bags and goes through them, handing each of us our breakfast. "That sounds too good to be true. We need to find some way to connect the bar to the prostitution or else we won't be able to complete the mission."

I bite into a tomato as I watch Naruto. Did he just look sad? Don't tell me that he likes that place and those people? He better not blow this mission. I look away from him. Sakura scrunches her nose when she passes Naruto. "Come on, Naruto. You need to change. Those clothes are crumpled."

Naruto pouts. "This is all I had so I had to sleep in them." I do my best to ignore the cute face the blond is using.

Sakura ushers Naruto to the bathroom. "First, take a shower. You stink of beer and smoke. Gross. I'll get your next outfit ready." Naruto whines, but Sakura slams the door behind him. I keep my head down to hide the smirk. "Now Sasuke, let me tell you about the outfit I was planning for you."

I look at her with a raised eyebrow. Didn't she just tell Naruto that she would get his outfit? She waves off the question. "I'll get his in a minute." Sakura pulls out a pair of black skinny jeans and a navy blue button up dress shirt. I look at the clothes then at the smaller bag the pinkette pulls out of one of the bigger bag. "These are some accessories I found. They were on sale too!"

Dumping the contents on the table, Sakura beams. I'm about to tell her that I don't need them when a black leather wrist cuff catches my attention. I grab it, curious. The leather feels worn, but sturdy enough. Then Sakura hands over a simple black cord necklace. I'm looking at the two accessories when Naruto comes out of the bathroom, sighing. The blond sees the table with things on it and walks over to it, immediately picking up yellow bandana. I look up and see his eyes are bright as he looks at the brightly colored cloth. Then he bends over my shoulder to start digging through the pile. I try to pretend that I'm not bothered by the fresh smell of him or the water dripping from his hair onto my shirt. He finds a black cord necklace with a silver coin tied in the middle and 'oohs' at it. Then he grins up at Sakura. "These are awesome! You are good at this kind of thing!"

My stomach twists painfully. I thought he was mad at her. Why is he smiling at Sakura so happily? Does he still like her? Does this mean that he's not sick anymore? I grab my outfit and walk as calmly as possible to the bathroom to get changed, training my face to be as emotionless as I can make it. Admittedly, the skinny jeans were time consuming trying to put on, but once they were on, I felt comfortable. When I walk out of the bathroom, I'm rolling up the sleeves of my dress shirt to my elbows. I go to the bags and rummage through them to find a pair of shoes to fit the outfit. Then I realize how quiet it is in the room. I look up and Naruto and Sakura are both watching me. I furrow my brow and look away. Ignore them, Sasuke. Find your shoes. Naruto grabs a bundle in his arms and hurries to the bathroom.

Finding a pair of combat boots, I tie them on and then snap the leather wrist cuff to my left wrist. Sakura helps me tie the cord necklace around my neck, her fingers trembling. I'm arguing with Sakura about cologne when Naruto steps out of the bathroom and my lungs forget what oxygen is. He's wearing khaki-colored capris and an orange sleeveless hoodie, with orange converse, the yellow bandana tied around a beltloop at his right hip and the necklace tied around his neck. I swallow and force my gaze away as he spots the cologne Sakura is holding and starts to question her about if he has some. "Shouldn't you be getting back so they don't think you ran away?" Sakura snaps, tired of telling him no.

Naruto gasps. "Oh yeah! Well, I guess I'll see you tonight Sasuke!" He gives a quick wave and runs out the door. My eye twiches as I stop myself from punching Sakura in the face. No. Focus on the mission. The mission!

At sundown, I make my way to the Neon Sun. The music is still loud. I take a short breath before pulling open the door and stepping inside. There are several men and only a few women inside. I do a quick count. Three. Three women and the rest are men. I have to flow with the crowd in order to get to the bar. The redhead behind the bar smiles at me and leans in to be heard. "What would ya like?"

Quickly scanning the bottles behind him, I choose a random one and order. The man quirks an eyebrow, but pours it anyway. I can smell the strength from the cup from here and I get sick just imagining drinking this. I nod my head in thanks and turn to scan the room. It's so packed and smoke is everywhere, making it difficult to see anything specific. "You know, it's rude to order and not drink it," a happy voice says beside me. I look over and see an orange-haired boy. His purple eyes are amused as he catches my grimace. "Haha! You don't seem like someone who drinks. Maybe you needed some courage for something?" The boy leans into my ear, breathing hotly against my cheek.

My heart beats faster. I was not expecting this. Is he perhaps a Son? I am about to say something when I catch a flash of yellow. My head follows the color despite myself and I watch as Naruto is pushed with the crowd, trying to get to the bar. I shake my head slighlty, a smile of affection fighting to appear. I keep it in check though. Then I frown deeply as a man with long red hair pulled back into a low ponytail hugs Naruto to him and pulls him with ease through the crowd past the obvious guards to the hallway in the back. "Who's that?" I ask, not realizing it was out loud.

The forgotten orange-haired boy frowns. "Am I not to your liking?"

I turn to him and he suddenly starts laughing. "I get it. You liked him right? Sorry to tell you, but that redhead isn't a Son."

Turning my head back to the guarded hallway, I frown. So that's Haro, huh? He's attractive I guess. But Naruto won't do anything with him. He's the Dobe. Right? "Hmm," is all I reply with.

"Oooohh. You were talking about the blond then," the orange-haired boy says, reading me like a book. Who the heck is this guy? "I'm sorry, but Haro is easier to sleep with than him. He's new so he has to be eased into the business. You're gonna have to settle with a veteran until you build enough of a reputation with us to be trusted with a newbie."

I frown and finally pay attention to the body beside me. He smiles wider when he sees he's got my attention. "How long will I have to come here to be considered trustworthy enough for him?"

The boy casually leans against the bar. "Oh, I don't know. It depends on what you are and how you treat your partners."

Tilting my head, I ask, "What I am?" I'm seriously feeling out of place in this bar and it's quickly making me angry with how little I seem to know.

I'm met with giggles. "You must be new. That's sweet. What I mean is if you're a top or a bottom and if you're dominant or submissive. See, it matters because if you're a bottom and he's a bottom, then it won't work and two submissives are too passive. I have a feeling that you're a top." He leans towards me again with a sly smile. "I'm a bottom by the way. We can have some fun in my room if you want. You know, start on that reputation of yours?"

I stare at the purple eyes watching me with interest. Licking my bottom lip, I try to decide what I should do. If what this guy says is true, then this mission will be a lot harder and longer than thought. The eyes flick to my lips and I realize what's happening. I'm getting aroused. In a way, sleeping with this orange-haired boy is for the mission. I give him a smirk and down the alcohol in front of me. I might need the kick now. It burns going down and I blink at the boy. "Okay. Let's go."

Naruto's P.O.V.

How embarrassing! Haro has to help me get through the bar crowd again. I groan as Haro and I make it to my room. Sitting down on the bed, I look up at the redhead. "I can't believe I still get stuck in the crowd."

Haro chuckles. "Don't worry about it. You'll get used to it soon enough."

I swallow as a sudden thought hits me. "Shouldn't I be out there trying to find a client?"

The brown-eyed man blinks in surprise. "Only if you want to be. I don't force anyone to work. It's your choice. I only restrict and protect my Sons. For example, I won't allow a new client that we know nothing about to sleep with a new Son who is inexperienced."

My throat constricts. "How long will someone have to be a client to beable to choose me, I mean, choose a new Son?"

Haro skips over to the bed and plops down with a big smile. "Did you see someone you like out there? If you tell me who it is, I can start on helping build his membership, that way you can be with him as soon as you can."

Someone I like? My face starts getting red as I think about Sasuke in that dress shirt, rippling as he moves. Haro chuckles and kisses my mouth quickly before I can avoid it, pulling back with a grin. "H=hey! Stop doing that!"

"I can't help it. You're just too cute with your little crush."

I pout. "It's not a crush. I just think he's attractive."

Haro jumps up and pulls my arm to get me to stand too. "Come on. You're going to point out this guy and I'll talk to him for you." Rolling my eyes, but smiling, I let Haro pull me out of the room. Haro is closing the door when I hear Ryuu talking excitedly and pulling a familiar raven. My throat dries and my chest hurts. "Naruto?"

I turn to Haro and see the most serious and concerned face the redhead has ever had since I met him last night. The deep rumble of Sasuke's chuckle makes my head turn on its own. Ryuu grabs Sasuke's hand and leads him to a room way down the hall. Then the door shuts and I feel numb.

A hand grabs mine and I look down. I didn't even realize I was clenching my fists, let alone hard enough to draw blood. "Naruto? Was that your guy? With Ryuu?"

I open my hand to let Haro inspect the damage as I give a brief nod. Why am I acting this way? it's not like me and Sasuke were actually going to sleep together, so why is it pissing me off that he's going to sleep with someone else? It's just a mission! That's right. The mission! Maybe he found out about the hurdle and is just doing it for the mission! I relax my shoulders considerably as I let Haro take me to my bathroom and clean up my hands.

Haro is silent as he cleans my hands, but once both hands are wrapped, he sighs. "I'm sorry Naruto. I should have warned you. Each Son has their tastes and sometimes those tastes overlap. In those cases, it's first come, first serve, unless that client decides to establish a membership. We just have to hope that boy you like will come back."

I nod. "Okay."

The redhead actually looks afraid to say something. He takes a moment and then dives in. "Naruto. It's not just him that needs to build up a reputation. You will need to have partners to get experience, whether you use some of our trusted clients or even fellow Sons."

Swallowing, I nod. "I get it."

Haro is hesitant at first, but then leans in and kisses my lips gently. I don't push him away this time.

A/N: I know! I know! I keep saying one thing and changing my mind! It's been crazy. Anyway, this is what I have so far and I hope you like it. I'm really liking this story so far.
