Chapter 4

(Man that was close.) a lone Serpent man thought watching the battle before him while slowly moving towards this dead leader who had what they were after and thanking his lucky stars he had the sense to hide when Disruptor launch her attack.

As for Gear, he was not in a good mood, the reason is because at the moment he was running for his life as he barely dodge out-of-the-way of a spray of pink energy blasts, he would be fighting back if not for fact that whatever that energy was had hit Backpack and shorted it out leaving him unarmed and open to harm.

"Hey Gear, you better think fast!" Persuader shouted in glee as he duck under an axe slash only for the Red head to boot him in the side sending him across the room, jumping to his feet Gear didn't even have to catch sight of Disruptor before she kick him in the chest nailing him to the wall with her foot in place. Gear grunted pulling out a Zap Cap but pause at seeing her pointing her glowing fist at him with wide a smirk on her face.

"Now, now we can't have any of that now can we..." Disruptor said in a sing sang tone as Gear drop the Zap Cap and holding his hand's out to the side while Persuader walk up to them with her Atomic axe on her shoulder.

"Well, well, well... now what should we do with you?" Persuader ask reaching them, Gear's mind was running a mile a minute trying to think of someway out of this mess, he knew how twisted some supervillain could be and did not like the way she was tapping that axe on her shoulder.

"Well you did want to try out your new Atomic axe on something right?" Disrutor grinned with a raise eye brow behind the mask on her face as Persuader smirk.

"Yeah but even though he was a pain in the ass at first he did help me out, so I don't really want to kill him." Persuader stated and for a moment Gear dare hope that meant they'd let him go in one piece, until Persuader smirk darken and she brought her axe right to his left arm. "So I'll just take a limb off and call it a day!"

"Hey wait a moment!" Gear gasp now way pass alarm.

"Damn, these are some fine leg's." a voice said out of no where causing the three to look to the right of them and see much to their surprise Static there holding onto Disruptor leg and appeared to be deep into thought inspect while her boots.

"Not a fan of pink but these boots look really good on you." Static added as he held his chin very scholarly and closed his eyes while acting like some sort of doctor. Disruptor just blink at the guy's praise.

"Ummm, thanks?" She ask more then said only to find her world spinning upside down when Static flipped her off Gear, Persuader acting fast try to cut the new arrival in half but Static lean back dodging it before catching the bar of the axe with his left hand then elbow her way while he was still holding the axe, (Okay he has been hanging out with Robin way too much.) Gear thought annoy at the way he appear out of nowhere which was way too much like Robin for his tast.

"What with this axe, I've never sense an energy like- UGH!?" Static gasp when Disruptor punch him in the face with her mech hands then follow up with a right hook knocking the hero a few good feet away and causing him to drop the Atomic axe which she caught.

"Okay that hurt." Static mutter steading himself as Gear ran up to him with Persuader moving next to Disruptor.

"You cause me a lot of trouble calling me out here, so you'd better keep a tighter grip on this." Disruptor growl handing Persuader back her Atomic axe.

"Hey bro, your late!" Gear mutter watching Disrutor and Persuader but Static just roll his eye's and rubbed the blood from his mouth.

"Yeah I know and while it was nice of you to tell me this place was a Museum, it would have been nicer if you told which one! I'm mean it not like we don't have over a dozen of them across the city or anything, right..." Gear had to flinch at his comeback, (Note to self, on top of keeping him away from Madelyn also make more detail radio calls.) Gear thought as the girl got into fighting stands.

"Well, well, if it isn't the great Static, I've been wondering how my power stack up against your!" Disruptor grinned menacingly and pointing her fist's at him, Static raise an eye brow at this and Gear gasp and try to yell out a warning but she fire before he could say anything hitting Static! However as the energy splash over the hero and Gear was about to yell out to dodge it, he pause when it did nothing.

"What the hell?" Disruptor gasp looking at him still alive as Static raise an eye brow.

"Your using some rare stuff there, electrostatics cable of shutting down almost anything from electronics to organic." Static said cracking his neck then shrug.

"But it doesn't work on someone who has control of his own electrons and able to generate far more then that device of your, Sorry." Static told her, Disruptor's jaw drop at hearing but then take on a sinister expression.

"Your better than I thought, we're going to have so much fun." Disruptor grin raising her hands in the air, "But it will have to be another time!" she spoke before blasting the ceiling lights.

"What the hell!" Gear yell as sparks flew everywhere blinding them and leaving him and Static in the dark! Static quickly light with his powers but to his dismay they were gone.

"Well that just wonderful, I wonder what else could go wrong today." Static mutter as if fate was mocking them neither him nor Gear notice the last Serpent member jump out of a broken window with a metal suit case.

Outside Disruptor and Persuader had just reach the ally way and were making a mad dash out of there. "Don't think I've ever seen you hauling ass like this." Persuader said to her blond friend who turn to glare at her.

"I'll know and I don't think I've ever ran into someone who could block my attacks like that! So were both seen something new today." Disruptor mutter, if she was to be truthful it scared her how her powers had no effect on Static what so ever. This was the fist time she ran into someone like that and didn't know how to counter him now.

"That axe had better be wort the trouble." Disruptor growl as her friend grin behind the metal mask, "Oh it is, but for now lets head home and rest cause something tell me we're gong to be pretty busy soon." Persuader said as both made their get away to make plans for the future. Never seeing the lone Serpent member glare at them as he to left.

Night time had come, Static snuck into the alleyway near his apartment that he shared with roommate, landing on the top of the fire escape he put his disk away and power down causing his clothing to change to a pair of blue jeans and a red long sleeve t-shirt, this was a trick he was taught by a reform Livewire who was apart of team Superman now. Walking down the fire escape until he reach the seventh floor. Opening the window Virgil went inside of the living room and yawn. Virgil was tire after the day he had, from saving Gear and then having to take Madelyn to see a movie she wanted to watch and pay for everything he just wanted to crash out and go to sleep.

"Virgil!" said person finch at hearing at the voice and turn to see Teresa, red hair which is tied in a high pony tail, white skinned and green eyes and was wearing a white bath robe.

"Why do you always have to come through the freaking window like a robber!?" she growl, Virgil held in a groan, at this trouble some roommate, after she was cured and free from her life as Talon she was all happy to live a normal life but one ran into a problem as an adult, namely money troubles, after being out of school for so long it was too late for her to graduate so she just drop out and got a job as a waiter but was working on her GED.

"Teresa, not now. I've had a long day." Virgil said reaching into his pocket and pull out some money, doing a quick count he gave her 550 dollar which was his rent fee, After graduating high school and getting into college, Virgil got a scholarships that pay for everything but his housing though it did give him a small check to help with living. Teresa needing help in paying rent put up a sigh showing she was looking for a roommate which lead to her meeting Virgil.

"Here my rent for this month so if you don't mind I'm going to crash out now." Virgil yawn handing her the cash and walking off leaving an annoy Teresa behind.
