Daphne's story continues in Living in Secret, the sequel to this story, which is live on my page! But before that, how many of you will spare an author a second to read his thank you?

When I finally completed this story it only took (exactly) eight years in the making. When I began this story it was rated M and written by an angsty teen who got off on the idea of a Slytherin and Gryffindor getting together (in a world where I actually enjoyed the Dramione shipping, this may well have belonged to that genre.) Since then I've grown and this story has had dozens of rewrites, probably to the point where it's barely recognisable as what I originally published anymore. Even when I wasn't writing it, I always had it in the back of my head that one day I would come back and complete this story, even if nobody read the final version. In the space between Chapter 1 and 40 I entered and left puberty, gained and lost friends and family, and even got to see the Harry Potter franchise come back in the Fantastic Beasts films.

Word's can't begin to describe the feeling of finally closing the book on this part of my life.

This has been my emotional support story for quite a while, so when I say I would love to hear how other people feel about it, trust that that is coming from the bottom of my heart. I've always taken reviews into consideration when crafting the plot and characters in this story. My mindset when I went in was I wanted to write a story that I, as a Slytherin and a Harry/Daphne shipper, would want to read, and I sincerely hope I've succeeded at that. Recommendations, feedback, opinions, speculation, anything is welcome! Unless you're just bitching about continuity errors, which only lozer preps do and not cool goffik kids like me.

To the sequel! Living in Secret will cover the events of the sixth year at Hogwarts, seeing Daphne growing closer to the dark side and Harry living an alternate life where Sirius survived. I hope the readers of this story are satisfied and intrigued enough to follow these characters through the rest of their time at Hogwarts. Jump over onto my page to continue the story!

And again, thank you all for your time.

Yes, as of the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 this story has been retwritten and retconned into an expanded, and I hope you will agree, superior version. It is not required rereading to understand the sequel, but is recommended.
