Heroes

Summary: Dani's idea of a true hero and who her hero is.

When the word hero is said the image that first comes to most peoples' minds is that of spandex, a cape, superpowers, and someone who will never give up or lose a battle. In reality though, a hero can be anybody. From a fireman to even just a friend who helps you finish that essay last minute. Also, who says a hero never loses? I have lost lots of battles before, granted I always defeated them in the end with the help of my older brother Danny. Thats not what I mean though, when someone says 'hero' near me the first thoughts that come to mind aren't of Danny and Danielle Phantom, but of Danny and Jazz Fenton, of Tucker Foley and Sam Manson.

When I had first moved in with the Fentons and started 9th grade after skipping a few grades I was fine. Then after the first two months of high school my grades started slipping. The reason for that was because all of the stuff that I knew that allowed me to skip those grades had been cloned from Danny, and it was after the first two months that Danny had gotten his powers. It was only logical that I would know only as much as he had known from what few of the classes he had not slept in back then. So when my grades went down Jazz tutored me and helped me with my homework to get my grades back up. She completely neglected her own studies and made a B- on one of her tests to help me. A low grade for her. Thats why I consider Jazz a hero.

Another hero I know is Tucker Foley, here is how I came to think of him as a hero. A few weeks back Technus had possessed my computer and downloaded a bunch of viruses onto it, he deleted all of my stuff, and then he even locked my computer up to top it off. When I told Tucker about it he came over and with just a few pushes of buttons unlocked my computer. It took him the rest of his weekend to get my computer back to normal and retrieve all of my stuff, but he never complained.

Just yesterday I had wanted some ice cream since it was so hot and after I got some I didn't even get halfway through it when a ghost attacked. I had to throw my frozen treat away to go and fight the ghost. When I was done I was going to get some more but realized that I didn't have anymore money. Seemingly out of nowhere Sam showed up and she bought us both some ice cream.

While I think the others are great, I think the one who is the most of a hero to me is Danny. Not Danny Phantom, but Danny Fenton. He taught me all sorts of things, like how to skate. I had never known how, and when I would fall and be ready to quit he would come over and help me back on my feet and tell me to try again. Pretty soon I got the hang of it. Another thing about him that I admire is his tolerance for me even if I'm on a sugar rush. This one time after Halloween I had been so hyped up that no one wanted to be around me, except Danny. He didn't even seem to mind that I was shouting/talking so fast that even I couldn't understand half of what I was saying.

One last thing that I admire about him is moments like these. Even though he was exhausted when he came home late at night, he still let me cuddle up to him after I had a nightmare. He could have just told me no, he could haved shoved me out of the doorway and told me to go and seek comfort from someone else. Instead he scooted over and let me on the bed beside him. He wrapped he arms around me and told me to tell him about my bad dream, and he listened. I passed out after awhile and when I woke up I found him sound asleep and still holding me tight, as if by doing that he could protect me from those dreams that scared me. In truth he only has to be there for me. Thats what a hero is, it's a person who is there for another person and is willing to help them in their time of need.

The End...

Thats it folks.
