A/N: Hi there! I hope I haven't been making you wait too much. Anyways, here is the next chapter. It is a bit sad near the start. There is also a creepier part in there, because, duh, it WAS supposed to be a mild creepy pasta after all. And as promised to a reviewer, I put more of HURRY in there. I hope I wrote this whole chapter correctly. I was a bit uncertain. But I definitely like it a lot!

Thanks to all of the reviewers also and to those of you who added this story to their favourites. I appreciate a lot. Enjoy!

Chapter 5: I hate you

"Oh? Why is it so dark in here?"

I entered the door to my house. Inside, a pitch-black room stood, so mightily quiet and mysterious. There was something else, though…a small sound, echoing through the room.

"Turn on the light" I said to no one in particular.

Somehow, the person executed itself and a dim red light shone up there, on the ceiling. But there were none. No ceiling at all, I noticed. Just a sky with clouds, tainted in blue and orange and purple all at the same time.

I began walking. The living room had just become a large and long beach, A beach so familiar, yet I couldn't place my finger on it. I was not alone, unsurprisingly. On the sand, a little girl was playing, her back turned to me. I looked at her brown hair, arranged in two Chinese-style buns and her blue dress.

"Hello?" I said. The girl, who looked about six years old, turned to me all too quickly.
"Oh, hi Gold." She replied.
"Carrie, what are you doing here?" I asked her, apparently having no reaction to the fact that my cousin was sitting on an odd beach in my house.

Carrie turned her back to me again. "I'm playing" she said. I sat cross-legged next to her and looked at the small object she played with.

"What is that?" I said, taking the object from her.
"It's a Game Boy Color" she said. "Now give it back, please!"

She snatched it away from me. "Oh, I have one like these, too!" Carrie looked at me and smiled widely. "Really? Great! I was hoping to Mystery Gift with you, you know. I've been hanging around Goldenrod Dept. Store for a while, waiting for someone to beep with, but…"

She frowned. "Nobody wants to. But you're here, right? So let's do it!"
"Okay!" I grabbed a Game Boy Color that was
not in my pockets a few seconds ago. I placed it in front of Carrie's GBC, and…

Beep! The infrared connection ended. My cousin spoke up. "What did you get?"
I looked at the screen blankly. "…It says, 'GOLD received DEATH.'"

I shivered and looked anxiously at Carrie. "Is that normal? Is 'DEATH' some kind of special object?"
"No." she looked as scared as me.

We both stood there for a moment, kinda frightened. "W-What did you get?" I said.
"…knife."

I gasped and looked up at her. Carrie had a small, pointy knife in her hand, her GBC no longer visible. Her face was changed. She had bloody eyes and pointy teeth. She smiled strangely.
"It's time to get you gift."

Carrie grasped her knife and stabbed me in the chest. I was no longer in my body, it was just as if I was watching the scene from the sky, like a movie. I was watching my own death.

The murderer laughed each time she stabbed me, again and again. There was so much blood, blood everywhere, red spreading across the beach the sky the sea, and I wanted to scream and run and just turn the freaking light off already—

"AUGH!"

I breathed heavily, waking up from an horrible nightmare in a cold sweat. I ran my hand through my hair several times and my second reaction was to look under the covers, at my body. To my great relief, I was not injured. My hand was still bandaged, though.

"Silver, oh my god, I had the scariest nightmare ever, like, I was on the beach, and—"

I looked around the room. There was no redhead in sight. Where is he?" I said as I got up. I immediately saw something, a hint of the boy's whereabouts. I grabbed the paper that was on the desk with my recovered normal arms, which confirmed my theory that I only transformed at night.

'By the time you read this, I will be long gone. Sorry, but I've gotta go my own way.

Oh, and also…listen to this carefully, okay, Gold? We shall meet again. I promise. Until then, train! Train like there's no tomorrow. Become stronger, cause there's no way life's gonna give you a second chance. Why do I know that? Cause you and I are the same. We gotta make our own rules in this world, or else we're gonna get crushed.

I look forward to our next encounter. See ya…Void.

from S.'

I finished reading the letter, eyes watery and widened in disbelief. My hands trembled as I reread some parts of the letter a few more time. I fell down on the bed, completely crushed. Suddenly, I couldn't hold back. I cried and sobbed uncontrollably.

"You say you're like me…but you're NOT! You want to help me, but you don't even CARE! You're just like everyone else after all! Heartless, and selfish…I HATE YOU!"

I crumpled the piece of paper and held it tightly against my chest. I closed my eyes in pain and a few more tears dropped from my eyes.

"Okay, HURRY. Let's train a little bit."

I decided after I regained my spirits that I would do as Silver said. Train and become stronger. What else could I do, other than that? And I wanted to meet his expectations, though it was hard to admit.

"Let's go on Route 30 first."

I glanced at my fire mouse friend. HURRY was currently on the ground, digging in the sand with his small paws. He looked nervous and didn't appear to be listening to me. Or least he pretended to not hear me.

"Hey, HURRY. Stick with me just a little more, please…It's important, okay?"

I frowned and kneeled in front of him. He ignored me once more.

"What's wrong, buddy? You don't want to train?" I said, reaching out to stroke him on the head. "You don't want to be strong like Totodile and Chikorita?"

HURRY lifted his head a bit and looked at me. The small creature looked sort of curious. I got you now, I thought proudly.

"C'mon, HURRY! If you want to achieve that goal, you'll have to train with me. It won't be easy, that's for sure…But I promise I'll treat you well! Trust me!"

I held out my bandaged hand to him like he was a frightened child. Actually, that's basically what he was. We both were. Hesitantly, he pressed his paw against my hand and squealed happily. I giggled.

"Alright! Let's go, then! We gotta make sure, though…that yesterday's incident doesn't happen again. That means that we gotta find a place to hide when the night falls and it gets dark."

HURRY tilted his head to the side.

"Oh…never mind." I said and smiled sheepishly.

For the next two hours or so, I walked through the tall grass with my Pokémon. To my surprise, he defeated quite easily the Pokémon who stood in our way. Rattata, Poliwag, Sentret…you name'em. HURRY took them all down.

"Oh! Here comes the next one!" I said after my partner had just finished roasting a wild Pidgey.

A small Ledyba flew by. I shouted a command. "HURRY, use TACKLE!" With a cry, HURRY attacked the Pokémon as ordered. It fell down to the ground, where my Pokémon was at its advantage.

"Great! Now finish it with EMBER!"
"WAIT! NO!"

I jumped and looked at where the shout came from. I saw a pokéball flying at me, kicked by someone I knew very well. The ball landed safely on the Ledyba and it was captured easily.

A girl with black and yellow bicycle shorts walked from her spot behind me to the pokéball. She picked it up and stood in front of me.

"Kris?" I said incredulously. "What are you doing here?"
She crossed her arms and looked sort of upset. "I learned from Prof. Elm, yesterday, that you left New Bark."

I quirked an eyebrow. "And?"
"Why'd you do that?" I almost fell on my butt when she yelled like that all of a sudden. "Do you know how stupid you are?"

Kris then began her long rant. I sat down on the grass, and smiled a little bit. It felt good to see her again, even in that kind of situation.

"Do you have any idea of how much I had to beg Prof. Elm before he let me have a starter Pokémon?"

She grasped the single pokéball hanging on her belt and shoved it in front of my face. I recognized the small, green body of Chikorita inside of it.

"Seriously, Gold. Why didn't you wait for me? It's not because your eyes have changed that I'm going to forget you or something!"

My eyes widened to this confession. "But…I tought…"
"What?" she interrupted me. "You thought I'd be a jerk and let you go your own way? No way."

I smiled gently. "Thanks, Kris."
She rolled her eyes. Typical. That was regular old Kris, ever so bland and tomboyish like always. "Don't give me that sweet talk. I forgive you…"
I gasped. "…but only for this time!" she pointed her finger at me and frowned. I giggled.

"Hehehe. Man, I won't do that ever again." I said, and then muttered under my breath, "Anything just to not hear that lecture again!"
"Don't you dare." She replied half-seriously, smiling from the corner of her mouth. "Hey…speaking of your eyes…I mean…"

She looked sort of uneasy. I took the lead. "…My voids? Yeah. They're gone, for now."
"…For now?" Kris said, uncertain.
"Uh-huh. I figured that they only appear at night, or more basically, when it gets dark."
"So…that means…you'll transform into that form when the night falls?"

I nodded. "Okay." She said. "Oh, and one more thing. What did you DO to your face? And what's with that bandage?"

Kris pointed at my hand. I couldn't tell her that I met a shady guy who somehow injured me whenever we touched. I figured that out because I had some bruises and small scratches on my face when I left this morning, and it just so happens that Silver had touched my face in those areas last night. Coincidence? No. It was either Silver himself who made this happen for some reason (even tough he had nothing in his hands who could have harmed me) or it was something else. Maybe something related to my "void state", I thought.

"Uh…Well, I was training with HURRY, y'know." I blurted out, pointing the Pokémon with my thumb. He just jumped, startled, and hid behind my back. Kris cocked her eyebrow. "…and you know how I am. Clumsy and foolish, like you always say. Ehehe…"

"…oh, okay." She sighed. "I should have guessed." I grinned sheepishly. "But anyways. What's your plan? You have to find a way to stop that void phenomenon!"

I got up from the ground and picked HURRY up in my arms. "Well, I want to go to Earl's Pokémon Academy, in Violet City. I asked the nurse in CherryGrove City if she could help me about that…And she said she's going to do some research on it and tell me about it next morning. But I was kinda scared to face her again after what had happened yesterday so I left the fastest I could."

She glanced at me with a curious expression. "What happened?"
I absent-mindedly played with my shirt's pocket, looking down to avoid Kris's eyes. "Oh…well, nothing, really. I just pretty much became the monster you saw two days ago, in my house. Except this time it was in the Poké Center and it caused quite an uproar."

Kris gasped and looked terribly concerned. "Oh no…that's horrible! Gold, what did you do?"
"I just ran out of the place and somehow ended up sprawled on the beach…" I explained quietly.
"What happened to you?" She asked, begging for more details. I was getting sort of uncomfortable. I didn't want to reveal to Kris Silver's identity. Even tough she was my childhood friend. But I wanted to, in a way, keep the mysterious boy all for myself.

"Listen, Kris. Stop worrying about me. I'm not a baby anymore." I crossed my arms in front of my chest.
She rubbed her palm against her forehead. "Sorry. I got myself carried away. But you're desperate. I can't believe you left the Center after the nurse said she'd help you."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah. So now, the problem is, I could go to Violet City easily, but it'll take more than two hours to get there. Look at all the grass and trainers. HURRY isn't that strong yet either. The night will fall and I'll still be outside."
She stared at me blankly. "Yeah? And what are you trying to say exactly."

I sighed and dug my hand into my shirt's pocket. "What I'm saying is…could you help me find a place to hide during the night? Or else, everyone will see me in that state. I don't want to go through that again." I begged her, losing all of my dignity in the process.

She eyed me suspiciously. Then, the blue-haired girl finally spoke. "Deal."
