This is a very short story after Sakura and Syoaran's marriage.

Why?

"Syaoran!" Sakura exclaimed, tears in her eyes.

Syaoran turned around, only to face Sakura's heartbreaking expression. He tried to be strong, and didn't show any emotions.

"Why?" Sakura asked in a soft whisper.

"We've talked about this already…Sakura…" He dragged on while groaning. "You know the reason, don't you?"

"But…but…" Sakura tried to control her tears, pressing her lips together, not making a sound. "…why so soon?"

Syaoran smiled sadly and suddenly lunged forward, embracing her with no warning. He wiped her tears gently with his calloused fingers. He rubbed her back, easing her emotional distress.

"Why do you have to leave for America so soon?" Sakura asked again, raising her voice.

Syoaran bit his lips, his emotions getting the better of him as his eyes began to sting.

"Why?" Syaoran asked rhetorically. "Why, you ask?" He gave a bleak smile. "I have to work hard… for us…for our family… we're getting bankrupt, Sakura..."

Sakura just nodded while wiping her tears.

Syaoran pulled her chin closer to his and right before kissing her, he said.

"…and it's also because… I care for you… our future together…"

Sakura and Syaoran just stood there under the cherry blossom tree while the soft wind blew against them.

"Promise me... you'll visit... You'll be back...right?" Sakura asked in between sniffs.

"I promise. I'll have no other girl... it's only you, forever and always." Syaoran responded as he held her tight.
