Artemis.
"It was the name of a daughter he didn't know he had, it was beautiful and ironic. A Goddess whose symbol was a bow and arrow, the weapon he choose. He didn't know she existed for 14 years, if only he had known. He could have helped them, given them money out of the slums she grew up in. Oliver Queen had a one night stand with her mother, Paula Crock, that ended with an illegitimate daughter. He just wished he learned about her under better circumstances...
Prologue end
Ollie was working in his home office when it happened. His beautiful blonde canary had just sauntered into the room, looking ravaging as always."Oh, come on, Ollie stop working for a few minutes. I think it is time for some fun." Dinah purred into his ear leaning down and kissing his neck. Ollie laughed and turned around to pull her into his lap. She started giggling and kissed him on the lips. Ollie's cellphone rang, ruining the moment, Dinah in returned just sighed and stood up.
"Oh, come on baby." He groaned out and reached for her.
"I'll be waiting for you..." Dinah said seductively leaning up on the door frame. She spun and left the room coaxing him to follow.
He looked at his phone seeing an unfamiliar phone and answered it. "Hello?"
"Mr. Queen?" A voice said. Ollie stretched and started walking to Dinah. He hoped this would not take long he was ready to have a lovely night with her.
"Yes, how may I help you?" Dinah smiled upon seeing him walk into the living room.
"I'm from Child Services and I'm callin-" Now he was worried. Roy was his 17-year old ward, they had been together for a couple years after meeting during his nightly actives. Roy was good with a bow and arrow and while his temper and patience needed work Ollie was the only one there for him. His parents where gone and he had no one else.
"Child services, did something go wrong with Roy's adoption?" Ollie didn't understand why child services would need to call him other than that. He was waiting for finalization of that, so he did not have to worry about his right's being taken away at a crucial time.
"No, that went threw fine. I'm calling about Paula Crook and her-" Ollie stroked his beard, he didn't remember a name like that. Dinah changed her position from seductive to angry.
"Paula Crook? I don't remember anyone by that name." Dinah relaxed a little hearing that but did not go back to being playful.
"Um..." He could he the rustle of paper. "Let's see her it says her maiden name was... Brooks." Ollie thought for a moment still not remembering her name. Should he know that name?
"I don't remember a woman..." Ollie was still stroking his beard when it clicked. She was a beautiful Asian woman, when he met her she was in her mid-20s. "Wait a minute was she a Vietnamese woman?" Dinah was now crossing her arms and legs scowling at him.
"Yes, well-" He gave her a small shrug. It wasn't like she didn't know he had a promiscuous past but that was the past. He promised her.
"What does this have to do with me? We were only together for a night." Ollie knew how that made him sound.
"Well she was murdered last night and left a daughter behind." He felt sadness rush over him. She was a lovely girl from what he remembered. No one deserved to go out that way.
"Oh.. I'm so sorry but-" He really didn't understand what was happening. Now matter what happens he now has to make up to Dinah.
"What does this have to do with you?" The gentlemen was clearly starting to get irritated with the interruptions. "Well your name was on her daughter birth certificate. She is 14-"
"I-I My what?" His head was spinning a daughter. How, well he knew how but how did I not know how. A daughter was kept from him, had to sit down. Dinah's anger turned to worry, she got up to walk to him, she was ready to comfort him.
"I need you to come to Gotham as quick as possible, to talk about options for her." Of course, he would go. He didn't know what he would do, but he had to do something.
"Ye-yes I'll be there first thing in the morning."
"See you then." There was silence on the other side of the phone, Ollie just stood there shocked he had a daughter he didn't know about. And was going to meet for the first time.
"Ollie, what was that about?" Dinah asked touching his shoulder.
"Yeah I need to fly out to Gotham for the morning, sorry babe." Dinah narrowed her eyes at Ollie she had been with him long enough to know when he's lying or leaving something out.
"And?"
"And what?" she gave him an incredulous look.
"Um.. well that call was... I... I have a daughter in Gotham that-" Dinah stood still as long as she could before she quickly walked towards the door. The second she heard the word 'daughter' her anger came back full force, he would hide this from her. He door slammed as he finished his sentence. "I didn't know about..."
