Kurt still remembered that night...

He remembered running across his driveway in the rain. His tears mingling with the rain that came pouring out of the sky. Wiping his face and plastering a fake smile on his face before opening the door into his house. He remembered preparing himself to face his family, running through a long list of excuses, as he hung up his now soaking wet coat. But when he turned into the spacious kitchen, he saw nobody.

Of course, his smile slipping off his face like a dead fish. His dad and Carole had taken Finn out to celebrate the McKinley High football team winning the last game. That was before they got married.

He remembered going down to his room in the basement and grabbing his phone out from his school bag and calling the first person who had come to mind in that very situation.

Blaine.

The phone rang twice before the voice that made Kurt melt picked up the phone. "Hey, Kurt. What's up?"

Kurt couldn't speak. He couldn't get his throat to work. Tears ran silently down the side of his face.

"Kurt? Is...is everything okay?" The concern laced through that voice had made Kurt break down. A heart-wrenching sob escaped his mouth. "Kurt? What did he do? Are you hurt?'

Blaine's voice was urgent, Kurt heard the slam of a car door in the background. "You're at home, right?" Finally, Kurt managed to squeak out a "Yes". The start of an engine. " I'll be there in an hour, ok? Then, you can tell me everything." Kurt, his voice raspy from crying, said one last thing before he hung up. "Blaine, I-I...Thank You."

Kurt was standing at his door, listening to the thundering of the rain on the porch roof, when Blaine's car pulled into the drive next to Kurt's. He got out of the car and ran swiftly up to the door.

After making sure that Kurt wasn't physically harmed or hurt in any way, Blaine enveloped him into a rib-cracking hug. He whispered into Kurt's shoulder: "You really scared me there. What happened?"

"Maybe you should come inside..." Kurt, comforted by Blaine's presence, had breathed a tiny sigh of relief as he led Blaine into the living room. Blaine plopped himself down on to the couch and Kurt paced the floor in front or it in what would be a very agitated manner. Blaine's eyes followed Kurt as he paced in front of him.

"Uhhh...Kurt?" Kurt looked up at Blaine. His grey eyes finally meeting with Blaine's warm hazel ones. "What happened?"

"He...K-kissed me."

With that, Kurt threw himself on to the couch next to Baline and started sobbing, he remembered reliving the horrible kiss again and again as he sobbed. When he finally got his crying under control, he was a little surprised to find himself in Blaine's warm embrace. Well. His life was turning around already. He hadn't expected it to happen so quickly...but he was hardly complaining.

He remembered that warm, comforting embrace. How he felt at home in that embrace, how he felt loved. His life seemed pretty awesome while Blaine had his strong arms around him, and everything else was forgotten in that moment. they didn't know how long they satyed like that, wrapped up on the couch. He still remembered that night, vividly.

And he would never forget it.
