Second Les Miserables oneshot! Eponine/Montparnasse pairing! Oh, and Montparnasse is extremely OOC; he's all happifulz! BTW, I don't own Les Mis.
"Snow! Look, 'Parnasse, it is really snowing!" Eponine squealed, unable to suppress a giggle.
"Of course I see the snow, Ep, it's everywhere," Montparnasse tried to sound indifferent, but couldn't stop the smile that brightened his features at the childish fit of happiness Eponine was throwing.
"Ooh," She cooed, "Let's build a snowman!"
"Really, Eponine, you don't act half your age," Montparnasse teased.
"Oh, relax, love. Have some fun!" And with that, she threw a snowball, hitting him square in the face, and made a run for it.
"She's done it now," Montparnasse growled, a smile tuggint at his lips.
Eponine was surprisingly fast for a girl- and with no shoes!
Even so, Montparnasse caught up to her in no time, tackling her to the ground. In doing so, the pair became soaked to the bone with melting snow; not that either of them noticed.
"Alright, alright," Eponine gasped through giggles, "You've got me!"
"So you surrender?" Montparnasse playfully growled in her ear.
"I surrender!"
"Good. You are now my captive," He murmered as he picked her up off the ground, ignoring her girlish protests.
They simply walked for an immeasurable amount of time, hand-in-hand, until Montparnasse noticed her shivering and abruptly changed direction.
"Wh-Where are we going?" Eponine stammered before coughing, what may or may not have been an attempt to clear her throat.
"My place; you're cold," He muttered, trying not to show his worry, but she saw nonetheless, and the thought made her smile as she leaned into his shoulder.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, the two arrived at there destination, where Montparnasse proceeded to build a fire.
Once the room was filled with a soft, orange glow, Montparnasse pulled Eponine into his lap, slightly relieved to see that she was already beginning to thaw, for her shivering had already slowed.
Eponine slowly drifted off to sleep, for Montparnasse's arms were a very nice place to be.
"Je t'aime," Eponine murmered drowsily into the crook of his neck.
"What?" He asked bluntly, not aggressive; just surprised.
"Oh-oh, did I say that out loud? Oh, I'm very sorry, 'Parnasse, I-" Eponine spoke quickly, afraid she'd offended the person dearest to her.
"Shh, 'Ponine, it's alright," He soothed her panic with uncharacteristic compassion.
After rocking her back and forth, stopping her babbling, Montparnasse burieed his head in Eponine's hair, kissing the top of her head.
"I love you, too," He admitted softly.
It couldn't be said who moved first, but, within, seconds, their lips collided in a heated kiss.
Upon breaking apart, Montparnasse continued to embrace her. Both were panting from the sudden passion.
Still laying on top of him, Eponine leaned down so her hair tickled his ear, and whispered, "I'm so glad it snowed."
