Darkest Light

-Quinn pov-

"IS he single? Should I ask?" I heard a girl say from behind me. I smirked, even though I was pathetically loyal to Hunter, it was still nice to know I still got it.

"Go ask him," her friend hissed.

We were in a nightclub, I was waiting for Hunter to come in, she was late, but she was usually late. It was hard for Buffy to sneak out of vampire hunting school to see her vampire boyfriend.

I sipped an apple-martini. Just because I was a vampire didn't mean I didn't like alcohol.

A blonde bunny, a little on the heavy side with a soft face and baby blue eyes came over. I raised an eyebrow and my martini as I waited for her to speak. "Hi, I'm Lana, and I ?" she said in a rush.

She was cute, but I was taken. "Sorry, Sweetheart, but I have a girlfriend who would kill us both if I did."

Lana smiled uneasily, unsure if I was joking or not. Believe me, I wasn't, at all.

She blushed and walked away; the flow of blood made me fight the urge to fallow her and lead her to the dance floor. It would be simple to run my lips down her her jaw to her throat, to everyone else, it would look like a not-so-innocent kiss, for me, it would be dinner.

Dammit. Where was Hunter? If anything happened to her, I'd probably pull an Edward and kill myself. When had she come to mean so much to me?

A rush of cool air and a familiar scent washed over me, making me turn my head back to the door. "Whats up little bro?" I asked Conner.

He looked faintly sick. The club was loud, dark and crowded. More my scene then his, he spent his time kissing computer screens, not girls.

"You want some fun?" I grinned at him, "a cute girl just went that way." I hooked my thumb over my shoulder at Lana's still retreating back. He shuddered and looked away, even sicker than before. Not for the first time, I wondered if he were gay.

"Quinn, you have to come with me." He sounded sad and uncomfortable.

I narrowed my eyes. "I'm waiting for Hunter. I'm not going anywhere."

He sighed, and his eyes are sad. "I don't know how to say this, but Hunter is not coming."

"Why not?" didn't she like me? Didn't she love me?

"She's hurt, Quinn, she's hurt real bad." I stood up so fast the chair flew through the air and smashed into the wall.

"What?" I gasped, my voice shooting up four octaves, "Where?"

I grabbed his shoulders and shook him. "Dammit Conner! Where?"

"I'll show you." He dragged my shocked and scared ass out of the club.

I didn't remember the run, all I remembered was grief anger and worry.

I had no idea how some sick bastard had caught her, but I knew one thing. Hunter could very nearly kick my ass.

We arrived in a clearing in the forest. Lucy was in the center, holding Hunter's hand. No one else was there.

Even my brother melted back into the shadows. I saw and smelled why instantly.

Hunters life blood was spilled. She was dead, or dying.

A howl ripped from my throat, agony burned from my heart, I couldn't breathe.
