Bianca pov
I sat on the ground of Elysium, picking at the rippling rainbow grass as I did every day. I was surprised the crop circle I had picked for myself in here hadn't been filled in with new grass already. Elysium had to stay in tip top shape. The smell of barbecue filled my nostrils per usual...
When I first arrived in Elysium, I wanted nothing more than to leave, go back to being alive. Percy had promised Nico and then I went got myself killed. But after awhile I realized it's kind of hard to be angry or miserable in what everyone considers a heroes paradise. After awhile I started seeing demigods that I recognized .I see the daughter of Aphrodite, Silena and her boyfriend, Charlie pretty often.
Whenever I see Silena and Charlie, I always stop and think. It must be great being in love. I mean they both died and even in death they're together. It's not easy falling in love when you're already dead...and when your father is watching you every two seconds… Seeing them made me remember that being in Elysium was great and all but I still wished that I didn't have to be there.
I stood up and started wandering around, making my way to my usual spot under my tree. I didn't really know anybody, some of the Hunters knew me, but I didn't know them. I wasn't like everyone else, they all knew each other and could easily have conversations with one another. I couldn't do that and was sure I'd never be able to. I mean when you're alive it's easy to find people who have no one to talk to. When you're dead, it's near impossible because they all know at least one other person who's dead.
Arriving at my tree, I sat down against it, like I did every day. Once I was comfortable and completely hidden from anyone beyond the fence, I listened for it. And just like clockwork, his voice filled my ears " Pretty mind, silk thoughts. Start a fire when you turn the lights off."
This had been my ritual for about a year now. The music had started one day, about a year after I had died and since then I just sat against my tree and listened to the music. As the song continued, I realized it didn't sound like the rest of his songs
Wanting to hear him more, I crawled around the tree sitting against the fence. This song was sweet but sounded more fun and free spirited than his usual stuff, "I got sleep eyes, I woke up like like, aw shit, throw some bacon on it"
I continued to listen until I decided I'd just go see who it was. I peaked over the fence and saw him sitting a little further down. By the blonde hair, the guitar skills, and singing voice, I assumed he was a son of Apollo. I against the face, inching my way towards him. Once I was basically opposite of him, I sat against the fence to listen until his song ended. By time he was done I was humming it.
"Well hello."
I gasped, jumping away from the fence. I whipped around and saw him staring at me from the other side of the fence.
Catching my breath, I waved awkwardly, "Hello."
"You're Bianca, right?" He asked.
I nodded, walking back to the fence, "And you are a son of apollo? I'm sorry I don't know your name."
He chuckled a bit, "Yes, I am a son of Apollo or I was until the life was whacked out of me...Anyway, I'm Lee Fletcher, guitar playing extraordinaire!"
I laughed a bit, "A little full of yourself, huh?"
I didn't know what I was doing, my mind wasn't thinking, but my mouth was just talking.
Lee laughed, " Just a teensy bit. It's kind of a packaged deal with being an Apollo kid."
I smiled slightly, "Well everyone is just 'a teensy bit' full of themselves, I guess. I always hear you play and sing;you're good, but I don't know about 'extraordinaire.' "
Lee shrugged, "Well if you're always listening, then I guess I'll go with what you say. You seem to have a very good opinion."
Now it was my turn to shrug, " Well opinion is what i use to make up for my lack in social and communication skills."
He laughed, "You're communicating pretty well to me."
I nodded, "That is true I suppose. I just haven't really talked to too many people since I've been here. I talk to a few other demigods but, I didn't really get to know anyone before I ended up here."
Lee nodded half heartedly, " I guess I understand that.I unfortunately know a lot of them. Died alongside a lot of them. Couldn't protect some of them.."
I stared down at the rainbow grass, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... I uh, well how has the Elysium been treating you.
Lee stared at the grass for a bit as well, "It's pretty good for what it is, ya know? I mean I'm sure you're getting treated pretty well as a daughter of Hades, right? Couldn't you go live at his place if you wanted to?"
I shook my head quickly, "One of my dad's biggest weaknesses was my mom and Nico and I remind him too much of her, I'm lucky I haven't been hidden away like she was"
"Oh...well, like I said Elysium too bad. It's quiet, grassy, and you're here, right?. I mean, can't get too much better this go around.
"
I blushed if that was possible, I mean I am dead, can the dead blush? I don't think so, "I'm actually not the best person to talk to..."
"Well you seem like you speak fluent english, I know you can read ancient greek, and you understand what I'm talking about, so you seem pretty good to talk to."
"I'm not though,I don't do a lot, I barely know anybody," I said staring at the ground.
" So, that doesn't mean you're not a good person to have a conversation with… Why don't you come on this side of the fence? Or I can come over there, up to you, and we can continue this conversation. Not often that I meet someone kind of new down here,ya know?"
I smiled slightly, " I'll come over there. Help me over the fence."
Lee placed his guitar on the ground, leaned over the fence and put his hands on my waist, "Alright on three just jump, and i'll pull you over. 1-2-3." I pushed off the ground and before I could make a sound, he had placed me on the ground on his side of the fence.
I grinned, "Thanks, so uh, I really do like the songs you play."
"Here, sit, I'll play you another one."
I smiled widely taking a seat in the grass. I should've looked over the fence forever ago.
