Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.

First fanfic, so go gentle on me in your reviews.

Note: This is supposed to be short, like a drabble, and I wrote it at 10:20pm on the 6th May 2011.

Enjoy ;)

Forbidden.

That word is exciting to some people, eager to break the rules. They live to explore forbidden subjects, or do or touch forbidden things or people.

Hermione Granger.

The words 'Hermione Granger' and 'forbidden' don't belong in the same sentence together, unless the words 'doesn't' and 'do' are in there too.

Territory.

Gryffindor's stick to their tower, Hufflepuff's stick to their area of the castle, Ravenclaw's stay to their staircase bit, and Slytherin's stay in their dungeons. No one – well, rarely – ignores this unspoken rule of territory.

But rules are made to be broken, and boundaries are there to be overcome.

Love.

Hermione's never really experienced love. She doesn't let herself. Sure, she's had her flings with Krum and Weasley, but they always wanted more than what she was prepared to give.

The unspoken rule of House boundaries had never been broken.

Not even on Valentine's Day.

Until one particular year.

During Potion's one Valentine's Day, Hermione Granger stood up, and made her way to Professor Snape's desk, a glint in her hazel eyes.

"What do you want, Granger?"

Hermione leaned forward, and, out loud, whispered one word that forever broke this rule.

"You."

Pressing her lips to his, student's looked at each other, amazed, and poor Neville fainted.

From that day on, students – and teachers – were a lot more relaxed, and the rule of boundaries had been broken.
