A/N: A future Jogan drabble, because I can't properly breathe anymore with all this hope lodged in my chest. This drabble is based on the first time Julian and Logan met, and you can find it here (just remove the spaces): http:/ / cpcoulter. tumblr. com/post/ 4855331788/ you-know-what-a-heart-is-because-i-showed-you
Disclaimer: Glee isn't mine. Dalton isn't either, but I encourage you all to read it.
"You know, I was dragged to a lot of art exhibits when I was younger."
"Hmm?"
"I remember, there was this particularly boring one. My parents had nowhere else to go and it was extremely hyped by the media. They decided to bring me along, and I spent the entire afternoon in the play area, painting. I swear, it was pathetic…"
Julian places his magazine down on the coffee table and smirks at the blond sitting across him. "And this conversation is relevant because?"
Logan rolls his eyes, then moves to sit on the couch next to his boyfriend. "Last week when I was putting all my things in boxes, getting ready for the big move and all," he pauses long enough to look around their new apartment, "I found this." From his pocket he takes out a folded piece of paper, so old and so worn out, then hands it to Julian.
"What's this?" Julian asks, as he carefully takes it from the other boy.
"Open it, you prick."
The actor rolls his eyes, but does as he's told. He reads what's written on the paper, brow furrowed, then his eyes go wide with realization and he immediately lets out a laugh. Written in green paint was, Will you be my friend? with the words, Yes, No and Maybe underneath. It was signed, Julian, with a green heart next to his name. The word Yes was encircled with some red paint.
"What the hell, Logan," Julian cries humorously. "I can't believe you have this! I don't even remember doing this!"
"You were probably my first friend," Logan says, chuckling, "Which is completely messed up, considering what we've been through."
"Don't go there, Lo," the brunet replies still smiling, "Don't go there." Julian quickly turns the paper over then recognizes Logan's neat scrawl. He looks up and curiously raises his eyebrow at Logan, then looks back down at the piece of paper.
And his heart stops.
Will you marry me? was written in green ink, the words Yes, No and Maybe right below it.
"Before you answer," Logan says, absolutely beaming as he takes out a blue velvet box from his jeans pocket. He holds Julian's shaking hand in his own, then places the box on his palm, "I should remind you that you only know what a heart is because I showed you."
I just wanted to put it out there, that I never thought of Logan as the type that would kneel.
