Here's the epilogue for Runaway. Finally finished with this story.

Marianne, Joseph, and Jack belong to me.

It was a beautiful spring day in Greenwood as the sound of church bells rang out across the town. The quaint little church was decorated inside and out with pastel blooms; roses, freesias, and lilac, all tied together with white ribbons. The heavy oak doors of the church creaked open to reveal the newlywed couple, both wearing broad smiles and clinging onto each other as they made their way down the steps of the stone building.

The groom looked handsome in a navy suit and sky blue dress shirt. His shoulder length red hair was tied neatly into a ponytail at the nape of his neck and he wore a single pink rose on his left lapel, while his bride wore a beautiful dress that fell just past her knees. It was pale pink in colour, with capped sleeves and a sweetheart neckline, as well as white petticoats underneath the skirt. Her brunette locks were curled neatly into an updo and secured with a white ribbon, while a string of pearls rested delicately atop her collarbone.

"I can't believe y'all are actually married!" exclaimed an excitable Mickie as she embraced the pair.

"Neither can I." Heath smiled as he gazed at his new wife.

"For a while there I didn't think I'd live to see my daughter marry." Joseph admitted with tears in his eyes.

"At least you got to see her marry the right man." Mickie smiled, patting him on shoulder.

"True, although I am biased since she's married to my son." Jack replied, looking on proudly at the redhead and his bride.

"Well it's a fresh start for all of us. From this moment on I'm Mrs Heath Miller." Marianne added.

Three months later the newlyweds paid a visit to the bakery upon hearing from Mickie that Layla had given birth the previous evening, not to one baby, but to two. The bell above the door chimed as Heath and his wife entered the bakery, alerting the new father to their presence. The dark haired man looked tired, with dark circles underneath his eyes, and his usually slicked back hair looking a little mussed.

"Good morning, Stu. I hear you have your hands full!" Marianne chuckled.

"That we have." the Englishman nodded in reply.

"How's Layla doing?"

"She's doing well. Taking to motherhood like a duck to water."

"Do the twins have names?" the brunette woman enquired.

"The little lad's name is Michael, and we've named the girl Collette."

"Those are wonderful names. Give Layla our best." Marianne smiled up at the much taller man.

"I will do. Can we expect to see you two starting a family any time soon?" the Englishman enquired.

"As a matter of fact, we just returned from seeing Dr. Freeman..." Marianne spoke in hushed tones.

"And it looks like we're gonna be parents before Christmas." Heath finished his wife's sentence.

A few months later, on a cold and crisp January morning, Marianne and Heath became the parents of a baby girl. A resourceful Mickie had helped to deliver the newborn when Dr. Freeman had been unable to attend in time. Despite the lack of a medic it had been a smooth delivery. Aside from inheriting her father's red hair, the newborn was the image of her mother; with soft ivory skin and beautiful green eyes. The couple decided to name their daughter Joy, as a symbol of their newfound happiness in each other, and of their new life in Greenwood.

The End.
