His Black Cat

Sesshomaru could barely control himself, he fought harshly against the demon instincts that roared inside of him. How dare these filthy humans touch his imouto! She was too pure for their stained hands.

His head snapped around, snarling at a woman who began to pathetically pummel his back. She, and several other women who had been shrieking behind her, came to a halt, stunned with fear at the sound. One even fainted. If this had been a different situation, one where he could have fought back against the crowd of rioting humans, like during his golden ages in Japan, the dog demon would have smirked; they all would have been dead in seconds. But he was no longer in his homeland, and even if he was, in these times he was only a myth. A bedtime story told to scare children into good behavior. Sesshomaru could not help but snarl again at a few approaching men who quickly changed their course.

Dammit, he had to get to Kagome without harming the boorish humans who blocked his way. He began to block out the sobs of the grieving Huntingtons and frightened party goers and rioting people, looking deep into his mind for a solution. An idea, a thought really, that hadn't crossed his mind in centuries appeared suddenly. He gritted his teeth at the idea, disgusted that it would in no way harm the people around him that deserved it so much. But he didn't have many options or the ability to think in full clarity at the moment, so he would have to settle. Slowly Sesshomaru spread out his massive aura, a dominating force that swirled around the room doing its master's bidding. The dog demon growled in approval as it took its effect.

Ciel watched from his carriage in disbelief. His contracted demon butler, was cradling a damsel in distress. Yes, Sebastian had at many times cooperated with opposite sex to get valued information for a case, but only when his master had asked it of him or it was called for. Never had he done it out of the blue, without orders or cause. But at least two minutes had gone by and the demon and the noble woman in his arms had yet to cease staring at each other. The blue eyed lad cleared his throat, a blush spreading over the apples of his cheeks. However the pair did not even bat an eyelash his way, to which Ciel scowled, he never liked being ignored. The footman of his carriage was even too enamored in the scene, and its strange happening, to show anymore attention to his lord then the butler.

"I told you nothings impossible, dear Earl."

The Phantomhive yelped as he felt a gush of humid air enter his ear. He jumped rather comically away and out of his carriage, shocked to see the undertaker and his own ragged horse drawn wagon outside the Huntington estate. 'He's here?' thought the young lord eyeing the man, before asking "Has there been another murder then?"

The undertaker only shrugged with his usual grin , "I follow the smell of death me lord. It takes me where I'm needed."

It was like being wrapped up in a electric blanket. A novelty this world wouldn't know for a while. But Kagome could recall many missed luxuries from her time such as; the occasional burger, her friends from school and the love of her family. Though she had the never bending support and care of her demon lord and adoptive brother, the miko never felt complete. Perhaps it was caused by how her once half demon love had once again abandoned her. His impulse that made him mate a random dark haired woman who had all but appeared in Edo by magic, leaving a newly returned Kagome out in the cold. But in this instance of what was confusion, hurt and anger at being accused by her own species, Kagome suddenly found comfort, warmth and fulfillment as she was caught in an unfamiliar embrace.

She grew up learning it was rude to stare, but woah. Never had Kagome met a demon that could compare to Sesshomaru's looks. While the dog demon was a beautiful male, with feminine like features, this demon was intimidatingly suave, with a sleek masculinity that made her toes curl. His eyes were like two rubies, and his hair as smooth and black as a raven's feather. She had been so wrapped up in examining her savior that she didn't even notice his concern, until he began to plead.

"Please my lady, answer me," Sebastian shook her small form a bit, adjusting his bridal style hold of her. This was not at all how he wanted to met his kitten. It was suppose to be a romantic, a breathtaking moment, not some crazed moment of imminent danger.

Sebastian turned his attention toward the men that had manhandled his kitten so harshly, his dark side calling out for vengeance. They struggled up from the ground, helped by a few other party goers that had came outside. The ring leader stepped to the front yelling, "Don't touch that witch so kindly butler! Her and her heathen black magic cursed us all tonight! The lord of this house daughter is dead by her deeds, she needs to be hung in the dungeons and sent back to that island from where she came!"

Kagome broke out of her daze burning with anger at their apparent racism and cruel words. "I killed no one!" She hollered back, and then turned to the butler who started to growl causing his chest to rumble.

"Do your accusations have any proof?" Sebastian questioned, his voice icy. From her little outburst, he could tell his kitten was telling the truth. She was indeed no killer, he would have smelled the truth, felt her corrupted soul. In fact her aura was especially pure almost as if she were a…

'It couldn't be,' Sebastian exclaimed inside himself. He turned his sight back to the precious bundle in his arms, who gazed back at him once again. Her eyes were just as blue as he'd remember, and her scent a dream he had dreamt about for many nights. Was his kitten a priestess?

Just then, the large doors to the estate busted open, hitting the stone walls behind them. In a flash of power the hostile men that confronted the butler, were in seconds sprawled out on the ground. A figure strolled out into the night air accompanying an overwhelming aura. Kagome panicked a little seeing the human men fall, before calming realizing Sesshomaru had not killed them. But had, surprisingly, knocked knocked them all unconscious with the massive pressure of his powers. The demon lord appeared before the butler and his sister in a burst of speed, his human disgust long since shed. His markings were jagged, his fangs sharp, and every sense was on high alert. His beast was highly aggravated at the threat to his pack mate, and having a strange male demon around her only made it worst. Sesshomaru narrowed his red eyes and hissed, "release her."

Sebastian was not at all frightened. True, the dog demon lord was powerful and feared, but as was he, just less known, as the demon butler liked it. And as such he did cower away at he dog's command, very reluctant to let his kitten go after he had just found her.

Kagome gasped when the demon holding her did not do as he was told. Her brother was incredibly dangerous right now, and could lose control at a moments notice; but yet the male wasn't bothered. The priestess, never one to keep quiet, decided to make herself known once again to the glaring demons.

"Sesshomaru," she whispered her voice soft. "Stop it, he saved me from a nasty fall and protected me from those men." Her adoptive brother glanced at her momentarily.

Kagome sighed and reached out a pink glowing palm and pressed it to his chest, "Please Sesshomaru. There has been enough blood spilt tonight." The pink light of her spiritual powers did not clash or fight the lord's demonic aura, only caressed it like it would the silk on a maiden's shoulder. The dog demon's eyes faded from their red color and his a normal stoic face his back off slightly.

She then turned to demon who had rescued her this night, "Would you let me down, please?"

In that instant, as blue orbs begged him, Sebastian knew he'd never be able to deny this kitten anything. He did what he was asked, setting her on her feet and letting his hands trace her form as he let go, ignoring the growls that left the dog lord.

Once she was back on her feet Kagome couldn't help but bow to the demon that saved her. She had made it halfway down when he stopped her with a firm, no.

"A lovely lady should not bow to a common servant," the black haired demon explained, Kagome blushed, "you are a butler?"

Her demon savior bowed low and then grabbed her hand gently and brought it to his mouth to plant a kiss, he smirked behind her skin with she shivered.

"I am the butler of the Phantomhive estate my lady, please call me Sebastian."

Kagome smiled shyly but responded in kind, "It is such a pleasure to met you, Sebastian. I am Lady Kagome Nishimura, this is lord Sesshomaru my pack mate and the demon lord of the west of Japan," when Sebastian raised an eyebrow she giggled. "We are all quite aware we're not humans at this point, aren't we?"

Sebastian almost purred at his clever little kitten but managed to keep it down. "Yes of course," he agreed, before a thought struck him. Master! Ciel would be furious for being ignored for so long. The butler gestured in back of himself saying, "May I also introduce my esteemed lord, Ciel Phantomhive, the queen's honorable hound."

Sebastian was taken off guard at his kitten's amused, "oh my," he looked to her only to follow her line of sight to his master who he hadn't noticed had also passed out with the other humans.

Ciel sat on the lap of the undertaker, who strangely had not been affected by the dog demon's power. The creepy man was too busy rocking the boy back and forth like a baby, and humming a lullaby to notice he had an audience and carried out the disturbing practice.

Sebastian flinched as Sesshomaru scoffed at the ridiculous display, "A butler with so little care of his charge, despicable."

Great, the demon lord would never trust him with the miko after this first impression.
