Just a small drabble for the month of Nejiten. Enjoy
I own nothing
Love is something that a child must grow up with. It must be taught to the young so they can help nurture it into other people, other children. If this always occurs, love can be expected to be felt everywhere.
The most difficult way to learn how to love is to grow up without it. But it also becomes excruciatingly more difficult when one whom does not know how to love starts to have those feeling for another.
If you were to look at these two, having never seen them before, you would have never imagined that neither of them knew what love was. Together, they smile these pure, bright smiles, and look at each other with such passion and feeling. A stranger would have to imagine that they always knew what love was. Even some citizens of Konaha looked at them and forgot the lifestyles they were raised in.
But if you knew them personally, you would understand the truth. That, although it was difficult, they had learned how to love. And that that no matter how their lives said they couldn't love, they pushed through all obstacles because that was the nature of their feelings for each other.
Neji was never completely devoid of love. While his father was alive, he had learned some inkling of feelings, and why they were important. He had lost that knowledge when his father passed away. He learned other lessons from his uncle. That the world is cruel, that only the strong could survive, and that he would never be strong enough. She changed that for him. With her, he learned that he didn't have to be the strongest, because she loved him no mattered what. Even though Naruto proved to him that he didn't have to believe in fate, he still believed she was his destiny.
TenTen was a completely different story. She grew up completely devoid of love. She never had her parents love, she never knew them. She didn't know anything about them, or the circumstances that brought her to the orphanage. She learned at a young age, however, that there was never enough to love to go around. She was mostly ignored by the caretakers, and her teacher's at school never paid any attention to her. She even lacked the ability to make friends because she was always so quiet. He changed that for her. Because he never talked, she had learned to speak up and talk for him, and she even had to learn to get her opinion heard over an exuberant teammate and teacher. But he had taught her one important lesson: that even if other people didn't have enough love to spend on her, he would always have a little extra to give to her.
They learned how to love the hard way. But, yet, their love was the most pure because they taught themselves to love one another, even if they couldn't love anybody else. Because of all their lessons they learned from each other, they figured out that they were made to love each other. That their designs meshed together perfectly, like clockwork or a well executed technique.
Everyone has the capacity to love someone. And even though grew up without it, they weren't looking at the past anymore. They were looking at the future, and at each other.
I hope you enjoyed this terrible little drabble!
