Percy's POV

I woke up the next morning and go to the restroom. After handling my business, I walk downstairs. Everything is how I left it, my plate and glass is still on the table, I took it to the kitchen and washed it. I don't want to give my parents a reason to be mad at me. I look at the clock and notice it's only six o'clock.

Since I still have some time until I have to meet up with Annabeth I decide to make myself some breakfast. After I finished eating, I wash the spoon and bowl, and put the dishes away. I go brush my teeth and get dressed. I look at my watch, 6:35. Might as well go wait outside, I have nothing better to do and Annabeth should be here any minute. I go outside, lock the door, and sit on the porch swing. I start swinging when my eyes drift shut.

Annabeth's POV

I look at my watch and I notice that it is already 6:50. Shit! I was supposed to meet Percy at 6:40. I kiss my mom goodbye, grab my backpack, and rush out the door. I run down the street to his house and I see him sitting on his swing asleep. I calm my breathing and I walk up to his porch. He looks so peaceful, I didn't want wake him. I quietly call out his name.

"Percy." He didn't stir. "Percy, Percy." He didn't wake up. I called out in a louder voice "Percy!" he jumped up. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you, but we have to go."

"It's okay. Thanks for waking me up though," he replied.

"No problem it was probably my fault, I was late. And we need to go because our bus is due in three minutes," I tell him feeling bad that I was late.

"Okay," was his reply. He grabbed his backpack and we started walking towards the bus stop. The only difference between the stops was that the morning stop was on the other side of the street. We look both ways across the street and then we cross. The bus arrives couple of minutes later. We both get on the bus.

"Is the bus going to be crowded?" Percy asked.

"I'm not sure, it's the beginning of the year," I replied.

"Can I sit with you if the bus gets too crowded?" he asked, widening his eyes and pouting slightly.

I couldn't say no to the face he was making, so I said, "Sure."

He said okay then sat across the aisle. We were the only two at this stop, so the bus driver left the stop. Soon we were at the next stop and more people were getting on. I sigh and look out the window. Stop after stop, more and more people were getting on the bus. I look around and notice there is only two seats left and most people are already sitting two to a seat. I know at least six more people needed to get on the bus. I look over at Percy and notice he is still sitting alone.

"Hey Percy," I call, "Did you want to share a seat?" I looked down. "I mean the bus is about to become full and you said you would share with me if the bus got crowded. But you don't have to if you don't won't to," I rambled.

"Yea, sure." He replied. He moved his backpack and I grabbed my backpack and moved to his seat. Soon enough at the next stop five people got on the bus, sitting in the empty seats. Finally we get to our last stop and four more people get on. All the seats have two people in the seat.

When we arrive at school I ask Percy "Do you know where you are going?"

"Yes. I figured it out yesterday. Thanks though," he replied and walked into the building. I could only watch after him. I start looking around and I see my friends, Silena Beauregard and Clarisse La Rue. I spot them and go over to them. "Hey. What's up?"

"Oh nothing, just that Luke is looking for someone else to date like always. He won't mess with me because he is afraid of me." Clarisse responded.

"I'm glad I have Charles, he won't mess with me because I'm already taken," says Silena. I say nothing because the odds are he will probably mess with me because I'm a single and he isn't afraid of me.

"Great News," I sarcastically say. The bell rings and school officially starts. We walk in and we all go our separate ways to our lockers. "See y'all later," I call after them. They nod in response. I put my things in my locker and take out what I need. I close my locker and when I turn I see Percy at his locker. Hmm, didn't think his locker was near mine. Maybe we have the same homeroom. I thought. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I hear my name.

"Annabeth!" I turn to look and I see Luke and the Stolls approaching. I inwardly groan. Why? Why now? Why ever? He comes to a stop in front of me. "Just thought I should come say hi to my favorite girl."

"What do you want Luke?" I say exasperated.

"Just want to know when you're going to go on a date with me?" he questioned.

"Look I have to go to class. So bye," with that I walked to my homeroom.
